Lord, all the glory is yours alone. Littledutch asked for encouragement so I pray in agreement with her. Help her to know your with her no matter the time or place, you will always be with her. I do not know her, but you know every hair on her head and know all the amazing plans you have to do through and around her. Thank you in advance for your will shall be done. In Jesus' name...Amen

Love this weekend!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

It's been a good weekend so far. I got though Thanksgiving Day without really overeating. I had a small helping of everything, but I was much better than I've been in the past. I have the indoor Christmas decorations up, a reasonably clean house, and I've even had time to watch a couple of movies, some football and some soccer games. I did miss my exercise yesterday, but have done my walk/jog today.

I'm nervous 16 yr is taking the car to work for the first time. Yikes, its scary to let her drive by herself in traffic. It will dark on her way home too! I know you have to let them do it sometime and I know God will watch out for her, but I still can't help being worried! Every time I think about not letting her drive, I try to remind myself that this means I don't have to take her to work and pick her up. I can actually do something else with my time! I'm trying to focus on the positive...but, nope, not working for me...I'm still nervously waiting for her text that she got there. LOL.

Worrying is a mom's job! I'm sure your mom worried about the first time you drove, as did her mom, and so on! I'm going to make an assumption that your daughter is a very responsible young lady (she has a job!). With that said, remember that. She is probably just as nervous as you, but would never admit it to you (or anyone else, for that matter). I know, I know, it's not her driving you're worried about! But, she is probably a much safer driver than someone who has been on the road a long time (meaning driving wise, not a long day).

Will keep you and her in my prayers for a smooth and safe transition.

Enough said!!!

What a busy weekend...Friday night was playoffs for hs footfball...we lost. Saturday, a long walk/run, lots of housework, and soccer (on TV-I'm too old to play)...US women vs. Italy and some men's Italian games (I love soccer), Sunday spent all day helping my daughter study for a test. She doesn't study well at home, so we spent some time at Starbucks where I managed not to eat or drink any thing, then we moved to Wholefoods for lunch, then out to a park which is near a cheesecake factory...that's where I went wrong and had a piece of cheesecake, then home again. In between all the moving around and studying, we took a break and went to see Harry Potter (I didn't have popcorn, my favorite!)

The cheesecake put over calorie to the tune of 1000 extra calories. And today, I'm exhausted...back at work to get a rest. LOL.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. It's a long one with 4 days off work. I have plans for Thursday, but that's it. With any luck, I will be resting most of it!

Ahhh...Friday and football

Friday, November 19, 2010

So glad its Friday. It's also high school football playoffs tonight...which our school has won their first playoff game ever. Tonight they play another game. It's a two hour drive with a car load of teenagers. Should be a fun night! We will be stopping for barbeque for dinner on the drive. I hope to be able to split a plate with my daughter, if not, then I plan to immediately split the plate in half as soon as I get it. I am going to allow myself beans and potato salad, brisket, and a couple of bites of sausage. No dessert.

We lost 40-20. Not a good game.... But it was the best season they have ever had and they did win one playoff game which they had never done before.
