Intermittent Fasting..the new best thing??

Saturday, June 14, 2014

It's been working for me this week. After years of dieting (WW, this diet, that diet,) I hope I finally found the answer with this. articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/

I'm following the Krista Varady version. Starting the 9th of June, today is the 14th and I've dropped 4 pounds. I only hope I get the benefits shown in the video. I highly recommend viewing it if you've come this far. A very well done documentary. Watching the 104 year old Indian man complete a marathon was worth the watch. Enjoy!

Today: June 16 - Down 4.4 pounds

My eating window is between 10AM and 5PM (NO later than 6PM), I try to eat a light breakfast around 10-10:30, then my "main meal" mid afternoon, I'm working on not overeating during that main meal.. sometimes I have a problem with it. But I certainly feel better not eating after 5 or 6.

I love that video! Thanks for posting it!

The trickiest part seems to be finding the configuration that works for you individually. I've toyed with the idea for over a year, and have finally found that I can do really well on a fast from solid food, but that I still feel better if I get some calories early in the day from liquids. My hunger is under the best control of my life and I've started losing fat, albeit slowly, since my calorie intake is still pretty generous.

Thank you for the link. I saw Eat, Fast and Live Longer but did not adopt it--maybe I will give it another try. Decades ago I shed excess fat by "Fasting after 5:00." That would be easy for me to do again--thank you for the reminder.

Have a successful and enjoyable day. Roberta

I was watching the interview just last night. Dr Mercola has fasting glucose of 68!

Dr. Perlmutter has to deal with the tragedy of Alzheimer in his family with his father.
