my newest tattoo, Spencer's birthdate! I love it, it is simple and just what I wanted. Getting new ink makes me want more...hehe.

Obviously, I can start tomorrow with healthier eating, and I'll do my best. However, my menu for the week was really what I wanted to sit down and plan out, so I did! It's pretty minimal, because I anticipate eating more than listed provided they are healthy choices. It's also mostly carb and processed free, and I didn't plan dinners because I'll have time to plan healthy dinners AT dinner-time. This menu really serves as a guide for packing lunches and snacks, since I start work on Monday. Hopefully this will keep me on schedule since I won't have to think about what to pack- especially if I make meals the night before! I'm going to do a lunch menu for Spencer, as well. Here's what I came up with for myself:
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 slices Canadian bacon
AM snack: banana, cheese stick
Lunch: salad with chicken, apple, strawberries
PM snack: yogurt, raw veggies
Breakfast: banana with peanut butter
AM snack: yogurt
Lunch: salad with tuna, cheese stick, grapes
PM snack: apple, hard-boiled egg
Breakfast: 2 eggs with mushrooms and cheese
AM snack: raw veggies, cheese stick
Lunch: chicken and steamed veggies, fruit cup, yogurt
PM snack: turkey roll-ups with mustard and tomato
Breakfast: apple slices with yogurt
AM snack: deviled eggs
Lunch: shrimp salad on lettuce, melon slices, cheese stick
PM snack: raw veggies, banana
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 slices Canadian bacon
AM Snack: raw veggies with Laughing Cow cheese
Lunch: treat meal! Whatever you want to pack
PM: apple, cheese stick, dried fruit
I may make some changes or swaps, I'm hoping to get to the grocery store tomorrow to stock up on fruits and fresh veggies as well as more protein sources, and more things for Spencer.
I definitely want to get back into the gym next week. I really just need to know my darn work hours! LOL. I think I'm going to be working 8:15-5:15 but no one has given me a definite yet! I also need to know the hours for the babysitting service at the gym, and figure out if there's a branch closer to work... busy busy, but I'll figure everything out!
Clothes shopping was actually fun. My friends helped me step a bit outside of my comfort zone with some tops that have a bit more embellishment. I think if I have a style, it's simple and classic... I like the lace/embroidered look, nothing shiny or blingy, lol. I think I'll fit in well at work and I'm actually now looking forward to being a little cuter and more fashionable than I used to be. This is a new start for Spencer and I, and a chance to really make my outside look the way I feel on the inside. :)

Yep... I'm going out with my two biffles (best friends for life!) this afternoon to get some new clothes, because my new job has a little bit of a classier wardrobe than I am used to. Everyone there was dressed nicely, so even though my boss never mentioned a dress code I want to fit in. I mainly need some nicer tops, as I think black yoga pants are okay. A lot of the girls were wearing leggings, but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable.
So, I'm fashion challenged, so I recruited my friends to help. I just think everything looks bad on me because I hate my body. And I'm a pretty boring dresser. But I'm trying to be a little more fashion-forward and step away from my comfort zone...
Yesterday I officially joined the YMCA! My friend does the bookkeeping there and processes the financial aid and she basically got me an awesome rate; $14.75 a month!! For what is usually a $60/month membership. So I went and paid for a year up-front as it was less than $200. Now I don't need to worry about not having the money every month (though I doubt that would happen) and I have no excuses as my membership can't lapse for at least a year. I'm just needing to figure out my work schedule (I start Monday, but I still don't really know the hours!) so I can plan when to work out. My momma wants to start going for nightly walks, too.
Anyway, today has been a rough day but I will blog about it later- just drama with Joe. I am lucky and blessed to have some awesome people in my life supporting me though. One in particular... :)

...in a moment. Yesterday, I had to go to the doctor's for my physical and was there from 10:15 until around 12:50. SO RIDICULOUS. The doctor was concerned because I mentioned my feet sometimes cramp up (charley horses) or get tingly (when I work out on the elliptical especially). SO he made me do an echo of both my heart and my legs, which took like....30 minutes. Then even though the results were normal, he wanted to send it to the cardiologist or something and I have to go back on June 6th to go over results. Whaaaat. Annoying. Also, it took them forever to draw blood and I just was waiting for ages in between visits from doctors and nurses. And of course Spencer was with me and getting impatient... I actually rewarded him with a new Thomas toy because he was SO GOOD. So he got lucky.
We went out to dinner with an old coworker of mine and then she came with us to the store, Spencer needed some warm-weather jammies, a nap-mat for school, some more sippy cups, lunch containers, etc. He got spoiled.
I had other stuff to do yesterday but my morning was wasted at the doctor's, so I just relaxed in the afternoon (I was exhausted) while Spencer napped. I've got a homework assignment to do that should have been turned in yesterday; but I'll just email the professor about why it's late and it'll be fine, he seems quite laid back.
Anyway, today's list!
-clean downstairs bathroom (yesterday I took a bubble bath and had a glass of wine, and once the tub was drained I somehow knocked the glass into it, so it broke. I need to clean out any little shards from the tub now that it's dry)
-laundry. Why does this never end?!
-post office to get a few money orders so I can send out background check forms for new job
-mail said forms and money orders
-buy envelopes (this should probably happen before the post office)
-start planning healthier meals for Spencer and I for when we start going to school
-cleaning the bird's cage... maybe. I don't know. Mom didn't ask me to... but I feel it needs it. LOL.
-yesterday's homework, and maybe some of the work that will be due on Sunday.
First things first: get off the damn internet! :D

it was pouring when I woke up, but now it seems like the sun is coming out. Yay. I need to get stuff done today including going to the YMCA and actually joining.
I need to start making a To-Do List because I've been super lazy and I let myself spend all my time daydreaming lately... yet there are things I must do!
Today's list includes showering, doing hair and makeup (as opposed to leaving hair wet, which I hate doing but did yesterday), writing a few homework assignments, doing laundry and putting laundry that's been done for a few days away, emptying the dishwasher, taking out all the trash (tomorrow's collection day), cleaning up Spencer's mess in the rec room, going to the Y to join, filling out more paperwork for my new job/calling my new boss with a few questions I have, etc...
Go Wednesday! I can do it all.
