UGHHHHH. Yesterday was just so irritating. Joe drank from around 5 pm Friday until basically 9 pm last night. I'm so done. He promised he wasn't going to drink anymore and I have some leverage this time....
He bought a REALLY expensive guitar on Friday. There were only 150 of them made. He put it on my credit card which has a credit limit of $2000. He had owned the same guitar a few years ago and we paid $1000 for it, but had to sell it for less than half that when we moved to NH. He found the same one used in good condition for $799. With shipping it cost us $850. So, that's on it's way, and I've made it clear to Joe that it's either the guitar of his dreams, or beer. If he even ASKS to buy beer again, I'm selling the guitar and I don't care if I only get $200 for it. And he will never again buy a guitar with my money. End of story.
Joe is a very talented musician, he taught himself guitar in middle school and can play just about any instrument, but guitar is his favorite. We currently own an acoustic as well as a mandolin. I know how much he's wanted to replace his Takamine (the one he just bought) and I do think this will help keep him on the straight and narrow. It really, really sucks that I have to treat my husband this way- basically I have to set rules in place in order for him to behave, and he's turning 34 a month from today. It's sad and ridiculous that he can't control his drinking. I guess I am just lucky that he hasn't been drinking a lot lately. It's much better than it was when we first got married. But, still, it's irresponsbile, unhealthy, and unsafe. And I'm done with it.
Anyway, moving on. Yesterday wasn't a good day for my diet. I was just so frustrated. I ate McDonald's (a breakfast sandwich) AND Subway (a footlong). And a smidge of ice cream. And basically just didn't care. So, I'm expecting a gain tomorrow when I weigh in. Definitely NOT expecting to have lost 3 lbs which was my goal. So, I'm planning a lower-carb menu for the week. Not completely carb-free, or sugar-free, like South Beach. But just...really going to try to amp up the veggies and lean proteins and cut out the yogurt and creamer in my coffee, and limit myself to one piece of fruit a day.
This morning I had two eggs and two pieces of toast, and I'm aiming to drink three liters of water since my water intake suffers on the weekend. I drank a lot last night, I was super thirsty, but usually I suck.
Just had to send Chloe to her room for yelling at Spencer. She's been a real turd lately and it's very stressful. Joe will probably be asleep all day (HAH- I hope he misses the Super Bowl, I'm sure as hell not waking him for it) because he stayed up all Friday and Saturday. I have homework to do so that's next on my agenda...
Happy Sunday, Sparkers!

OK so, I got a call from hubby just as I was leaving work saying the power was out and could I pick up dinner from Burger King since obviously we couldn't make anything. So, I thought I would get him and the kids food and microwave myself a meal or something, then realized I couldn't. SO I ate BK for dinner and I didn't restrict myself. BUT I OWNED UP TO IT and just checked out the calorie info on the BK website. And, okay, I ate 1110 calories for dinner which is absurd. BUT it also -might- be a good thing. Because it's really going to make me think twice before getting fast food again even if I think I'm getting something healthy- I checked the NI for their salads and new wraps and even those are quite high. Not that I didn't know before that fast food was not healthy, it just hits home harder when I'm actually conscious of the calorie and fat content.
In other news, I went to the gym and ran for about 15 straight minutes which is great for me. We were having a poop day in my class and I just needed to vent, so onto the treadmill I went, up went the volume on my Three Days Grace Pandora station, and I did what needed to be done. I did walk for about 3 minutes out of my 25 minute session but pretty much just as a breather after the 15 minute stretch and a few minutes of cool-down. The treadmill said I burnt 164 calories, and my shiny new heart rate monitor said I burnt 242. So I kept both in mind so I could ask Stacy once I got to class.
Class tonight was fun, I love training with Stacy. She just makes things funny and doesn't push us to do more than we're capable (although hopefully WE push ourselves a bit). We basically just worked more on the balancing/strengthening exercises and added in hand weights and resistance bands for the first time. We did circuits of three to four different exercises, twice each, for about an hour. I couldn't believe when my monitor said 579 calories at the end of class, so I asked Stacy and she said it was accurate and that what we did, which was basically interval training, burns about twice as much as doing something at a steady pace for the same amount of time. So then I asked about the treadmill vs. my monitor and she said the monitor was more accurate. So, I burnt 821 calories today working out- holy what!
After the workout Stacy showed us how to use foam rollers to help loosen and stretch sore muscles. I really didn't feel sore so I didn't use them much, but I will probably be feeling sore tomorrow.
So, anyway, that was today. On Tuesday we're training with Bree, not Stacy, and I know it's going to be killer- we are done with the easy-peasy stuff now that we're starting our 4th week. I'm excited yet nervous to find out what the remainder of classes will be like.
I'm going to try a low-carb diet for the next few days and hope I make my 3 pounds lost goal on Monday; especially after tonight's BK I need it!

So BeFit class was okay yesterday. The trainer we were with was sort of odd BUT he did keep making us talk about the exercises we were doing which actually did help me remember them. We just focused on doing some strengthening stuff. Thursday's class is supposed to be the full 1.5 hrs with our usual trainer (who was away on vacation)- I'm nervous! But, all in all, the program is helping me- definitely been more accountable with my food (but not perfect) and of course going to the gym more.
My classmate with the heart rate monitor burnt 180-something calories, so I counted mine as 160, even though I did spend ten minutes jogging and bouncing around the studio as a warm-up since the trainer was a bit late.
I would really like to pick up an HRM tonight or tomorrow before class. I found the one my classmate has on the Dick's website (which is where she said she got hers) and it's $90. I need to talk to Joe about it. It would be a good investment and it got almost 5 stars, I also believe it was recommended to my classmate (who I'll just call E. from now on lol) by Stacy, who is running the BeFit program. E. won't be in class on Thursday so I'll have no way of measuring my calorie burn! LOL. So I just wanna buy one. Hubby wants to buy an $800 guitar (story behind that, lol) when we get our taxes back, I think I can spend $90 on a piece of fitness equipment.
Anyway, my goal for the week is to lose 3 lbs so I need to cut back on snacking! I'm at 195 even right now which is .6 less than yesterday (yay water weight) but I really did snack a lot at work yesterday and at home before class. I MUST be more consistent with tracking in the evening. I'm going to really focus on that for the rest of the week and see how much it helps.
I also need to be more in touch with SparkBuddies because I suck at that! I blog a lot and log my fitness and weight but not much else. I am going to work on being a better SparkFriend!
Anyway, we had an hour delay today because of icy roads, so I don't need to leave for work for an hour and 15 minutes (been up 1.5 hours already, already bathed and made lunch) so I think I'm going to watch Prison Break. Hah! I'm so addicted...

so, I made something new for dinner tonight- pizza quesadillas. Someone on my facebook has posted a Pinterest pin for taco cupcakes, and as I was trying to view the recipe for those I came across pizza quesadillas. I have a ton of tortillas due to WIC, so I thought I'd give them a whirl since the kids love pizza.
They came out great, IMO. Of course neither kid will eat them as they're "new" and they are boobs. Oh well, I am not making them anything else so they're either eating or going to bed hungry.
Mine was yummmmy and I'd guess about 300 calories. I used two whole wheat tortillas that are 80 cal. apiece, f.f. mozz cheese (40 cal. for 1/3 cup), black olives (25 cal.), mushrooms (didn't count 'em) and about 8 pieces of turkey pepperoni (70 cal for 17 slices). You just spread a tad of sauce on each tortilla and then I dipped the quesadillas in the sauce, I just used plain tomato sauce since our pizza sauce had gone a bit funky. So, there were calories for the sauce of course but kind of hard to estimate as I was just dipping.
Anyway, I followed up dinner with a coconut popsicle which are like, my kryponite. 120 calories of heaven. I am pretty much done for the night and it's only 4:30! (Yes, we eat insanely early because of the children.)
No gym today, was coughing too much. Planning some floor exercises in a bit- crunches and whatnot.
Off I go, just wanted to share a yummy recipe!
