It's Thursday, so as much as I don't want to, I'm weighing in and counting it as my week 1`weight.
OK, after checking the scale a few times, I'm somewhere between 192-194. So... it looks like I really didn't lose anything this week at all.
I guess I need to do some more reading into the plan and ways to fix these downfalls. I'm not too mad, because I am proud of myself for sticking to the plan for a full week without really going off for more than a few bites here and there (with the exception of popcorn on Sat. night). This week, I will work on NOT having those bites even if I want them. JUST SAY NO, MILESSA!
I'm disappointed that I didn't see a large loss. I mean...sure, 2 pounds is 2 pounds gone, but from reading the book I was really expecting a lot more. However, my body is already used to a fairly low-calorie diet so...maybe that is a factor as well.
As I mentioned before, after my grocery shopping I'm going to plan this week's menu by copying the sample menus in the book as best I can. That way, I can be sure I'm sticking to the plan and getting in the required amounts. Also, it will let me compare to last week's menu for weak spots.
So here we go, on to week 2- down but definitely NOT out!

I am resisting, but I am sooo hungry right now! I really doubt I've lost any more than the two initial pounds this week. After grocery shopping on Friday or Saturday I'm going to try following one of the sample menus in the book for a week and see if that helps me lose in week 2. I must be doing something wrong... just gotta figure out what!! I'm not giving up. I told myself I'd give the plan AT LEAST a month and that's what I'm doing!
Just found this great pic on my mom's shutterfly- my aunt took it in the beginning of May. I love my baby boy!!
He is such a cutie. (Plus, I look pretty good.)
Anyway, gonna go drink a gallon of water and try to ignore my hunger pangs.

so, wonderful hubby shattered our blender's pitcher yesterday trying to blend frozen fruit even though I have repeatedly told him IT DOES NOT BLEND FROZEN. It's from like, 1927, obviously it does not have that sort of power. But does he listen? Of course not. So now, we are without a blender. I was so mad... I may have overreacted slightly. My temper gets the better of me fairly often. I should work on that.
Anyway, I was amazingly able to find a replacement on ebay for quite cheap ($25 including shipping/handling) so, that'll be on it's way shortly. In the meantime, no smoothies for me, just plain shakes and fruit on the side. This morning I'm going to have an entree and veggies for breakfast...who says you can't have veggies in the mornin'? I'll bring 1 shake with me to work (I left one there yesterday) and have another entree + veggies for lunch. Fill in the gaps with fruits and veggies. Shake for dinner. I am going back to basics- 3, 2, and 5, to see if that shakes a pound away. Maybe I've been overeating. It's hard for me to tell since I haven't been counting calories.
anyway, off I go.

well, I got sent home from work today at around 10 am because I'd thrown up twice. Considering I hardly ever throw up, I guess it was justified. I came home, took a nap, ate some lunch (as I was quite hungry since my shake didn't stay down), rested for a while and read my book, had another snack. Feeling much better. Chloe and I took Charlie (our dog) on a long walk- almost an hour. We live on a long dirt road, it's 7/10ths of a mile from pavement to our house, so we walked down to the paved road, up and down the paved road (which is also long), then back up to the house. So... it might have been 2 miles, all together. I'll have to drive it tomorrow to see. It was a good walk, one I wouldn't mind doing more often. Charlie really enjoyed it, he doesn't usually get to go on walks since he has a penned-in yard for potty and running around in. And Chloe did great...for a midget she can really walk! She's 3, will be four in August, but is so tiny that she recently got weighed and measured at WIC and she is in the 0 percentile for her weight for children her age (she weighs 28 lbs) and only in the 5th percentile for height. Spencer, who is almost 2 years younger than her, is only two lbs less than her and is almost as tall.
anyway, time to start thinking about dinner for the kids. I'll probably have a shake since I've only had one so far today... and maybe an entree. I'm feeling much better than this morning...guess I just needed some good rest.

Blah. today, I'm a little blue. I haven't lost any more weight since Thursday, and I don't really understand why. I've been sticking to the plan for the most part (my few slip-ups weren't really enough to cause weight gain or loss), getting in my exercise. The only real reasons I can think of is that 1) my body is used to the 20 minutes of exercise I've been getting during the week and I need to bump it up or 2) my totally random "period" is affecting my loss. I have an I.U.D, and have had it for over a year, so my cycle is totally irregular now... but yesterday I felt crampy and yucky and that's usually a sign that it's showing up. I went to bed at 7:20 last night!! Luckily, it doesn't last long for me anymore... I'm hoping that if I really focus over the next few days, drink a million glasses of water, and get in a lot of miles, I'll see a change by Thursday. Even if it's just one pound, I'll take it. Sure, 3 pounds for a week would be stinky, but at least it's three gone for good.
Anyway, I'm lagging this morning. Haven't done makeup or hair or anything. Might just swipe on some mascara and call it a day. I really haven't got the energy for anything else. This morning I blended a chocolate shake with 6 oz. of coffee for a boost of caffeine... it only really succeeded in making my tummy hurt. I packed a small meal today:
-AM snack: 2 celery stalks (might eat 1 small apple at work, because the kids finished the apples and oranges we had at home yesterday)
L- Healthy Choice Portabello Marsala Pasta w/ 1 cup mixed veggies, 1 baked potato
-PM snacks: 1 kiwi, 1 tomato, 1 fruit cup (will rinse and drain), vanilla shake
Ugh. gotta go get ready for the day. If it's nice out this morning, I might plan for my kids to play outside all morning... I really don't feel like doing activities in the classroom. Have a good Tuesday, everyone-- perkier than mine, I hope!
