I am having a lovely day! Today is Day 4 on the diet and it's going well. So far I've had 3 shakes (one was a double), one full entree/one half entree, half a Zone bar, and plenty of fruit. I need to eat some veggies with dinner for sure. So far, I'm enjoying the diet... it's hard not snacking but I've been sticking to my resolution to do this for at least a month! I know as I get more familiar with the plan I'll be able to be more creative with my snack ideas, too.
Anyway, this morning we went to Jaffrey, a town about 40 minutes away, to pick up a TV and some skis from a woman who owes us $625. She wanted to barter away her debt and we agreed since she's owed us since 2010. The TV is very large, not sure how much we'll get for it though since it's older and not flat-screen, but the skis are worth between 300 and 800 bucks. She also gave us the bindings and ski boots, so, we made out well if we can sell them on Craigslist or something! We were out for about an hour and a half...I had a SmartOnes for lunch then went out to do some errands while Joe stayed with Spencer. Picked up some more entrées and shakes and got supplies to make my pounds counter! I got the idea from a SparkFriend to keep a visual track of how many pounds I have lost and how many I have to lose. I used two small glass vases and pretty colored mancala beads. I started with 70 because I really started to get serious about losing weight when I was plateaued at 200 lbs. I've lost 7 so far, so they went into one vase and the rest went into the other! They look great on my dresser. :) I'll have to take a photo to add to my gallery.
After my errands I relaxed for a while and read the new Weight Watchers magazine, which came in the mail today. I have a free year-long subscription and even though I'm not following WW I like the magazine... it has a lot of nice recipes and usually some coupons.
Some other cool stuff happened today:
-We got two checks in the mail, one for $15 dollars and one for $27.50, so those went into the bank when I did errands. We were at about $65 bucks in the bank until payday next Friday (not counting the money that's still waiting to go to rent, they never cash their check on time!) so it was helpful!
-We got our Food Stamp award notice since I added Chloe to our family; we are going from getting $132 a month for food for 4 people to FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE dollars a month!!! Starting on July 5th! Which means we will not need to worry about groceries until the amount changes, and I can buy all the meal replacements I want! It was definitely an awesome surprise.
-Bumped into three friends while in town to do errands; I see two of them every day at work, but, was still fun to see them.
-Spencer has been in a great mood all day!
-Found out that Joe is getting back around $2200 later this month from financial aid and I'm getting back between $2000-$3000, so that's definitely a positive since we need the money badly!
Oh, and, yesterday I was informed that I got a raise at work- a whole dollar! Yippee! I had a staff review and my boss had only positive things to say. Go me!
I'm hoping tomorrow is as awesome as today. Gonna go watch some TV with my little dude now. Later this evening I'm going to try to get to the gym for a while- I didn't go yesterday.

Quick one this morning, because Spencer has been crying and I need to try to sneak away and get ready for work while he's calm. He keeps freaking out when I try to leave the room!
Yesterday I walked 1.1 miles with my class (so, slowly, about 40 minutes...it's hard walking with 12 2 year olds, lol. Then I did 1.16 miles on the treadmill in the gym. So, got my two miles for the Simple Diet done. After work Joe and I took the kids down to a nearby park so Joe could go fishing and I could go for another walk...walked quite far, probably about 45 minutes total...including up a STEEP hill! I need a pedometer so I can track my walks...
Today I have most of my lunch ready. Yesterday I wasn't as hungry during the day, tried to drink more water, too. I did get hungry around 8:30 pm, and I cannot sleep when I'm hungry, so I had a 230 calorie entree and some watermelon. So, three shakes, three entrees, and lots of fruits and veggies!
This week went fast... already the weekend tomorrow! I hope I do well on the plan this weekend. Weekends are always my downfall.

I checked the scale before and after my shower (after drying my hair) and both times it was slightly under 195, around 193. Even though I know it's probably water weight and weight fluctuates daily, it's good to see the number going down. I can't wait to see how I'm doing after a few weeks on the plan! I'm going to weigh myself on Thursdays so I won't check again until next week. Next Thursday I have to have bloodwork done in the morning and have to fast for 8 hours before (like, while I'm sleeping...lol) so I'll get an accurate weight.
This morning I'm having a vanilla shake blended with blueberries and peaches. Because the blueberries are small the shake doesn't seem as thick and filling as yesterdays (which had strawberries), so I might have some fruit as well. But I think I'll do that when I get to work as opposed to right now...there's nothing wrong with having a slightly rumbly tummy for a bit. Also, I'll have some water, too.
I'm looking forward to another day sticking to the plan! As I said yesterday, I felt a bit hungry so I'm amping up my veggies since they are filling. It also may have been mental because I knew my usual snacks- cheese sticks, eggs, crackers, etc. were off limits. I need to buy some greek yogurt, which I love, since I can have it on the plan, and some soups too, which I also love. I love Italian Wedding and was happy to see that it's okay! Today I'm going to try not to have a bar. I really want to reserve them as sweet treats when fruit just isn't cutting it.
Off I go to get ready for another kick-ass day!
