Blue with the Flu

What a day. It's twenty below zero. I'm stuck in the house with the flu. All cuddled up with my pillow and blanky watching TV. Comfort foods are awesome. Chicken soup and whole wheat tortilla BLTs. Yummy. I did not get my 60 minutes of walking in today. It hurts to be upright! I promise to make it up to myself. Poor Zing is bored. She doesn't understand illness. She's such a wonderful dog. She will be glad when I am back on my feet again.

Flip the switch

I have been doing really well this year. However, the switch was flipped today. I could not settle the cravings. I ate pizza, cheese & crackers, chocolate. I can usually have each of those things in moderation. Not today. I'm not sure what set me off. I'll be writing in my journal trying to digure it out.

    emoticon Don't let one day ruin every day. Just pick up and get back on track. Tomorrow is a new day. I have found that if I read the label on something I think I cannot live without that I usually realize all the other things I could eat that would be so much more nutritious for the amount of Carbohydrates that are in whatever I am craving (it is usually a Carbohydrate laden food). If I just absolutely think I cannot live without it, I take only whatever is one serving and put the rest away so I at least do not "overeat" whatever it is. As time goes on though, I am finding I would just rather pass it up for something else that I will get more out of... like some protein or a larger serving of a favorite vegetable.

    You don't have to swallow that stuff when you know it is about cravings. Spit it out. Keep some PROTEIN in the refrigerator like turkey, chicken, hard boiled eggs, so when you want to eat like that you can have protein and cut your cravings down.

Job interview

I have a job interview tomorrow! Yippee. I hope I can sleep tonight. I'm so excited. I have to keep myself focused and not stressed. I tend to eat everything in site if I experience any anxiety!

New Week

I'm looking forward to a new week. I have to get those numbers on the scale to move down. I feel great. I walk more now than I ever have. I'm getting frustrated. I know that if I continue to do what I'm doing the numbers will change. I am just so impatient!!!

Hockey Day Minnesota

Saturday is Hockey Day Minnesota! I can hardly wait to get out on Pokegama Lake in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and watch the teams play! Good luck to the Grand Rapids guys playing against Hibbing. The GR-Greenway girls team is also playing a game. Woo Hoo. Let's play HOCKEY!!
