3lbs away from my 1st goal to wedding #1 on June 2, 2012.

Thursday, February 23, 2012

I've lost 11 lbs and am 3 lbs away from my 1st goal toward wedding #1 on June 2, 2012. My 2nd goal to wedding #1 is to lose between 15lbs and 25lbs by June 2nd.

I have been exercising - Zumba, treadmill walking w/10% incline, toning with 3-5lb weights.

I have been better about my food choices. I'm still struggling with the whole coffee creamer vs. 1% milk thing. It is getting better.

Added Motivation - I am IN a wedding June 2nd!

Sunday, January 29, 2012

Friday night while I was out enjoying "Girl's Night", I received a text message from one of the young ladies getting married this summer. She informed me that the color of the dress for the bridesmaids is guava and that it can be purchased at David's Bridal. If it had to be ordered, it would take 12 weeks for it to come to the store. She also said that she would be getting back with the groomsmen later with more details on the tuxes. Needless to say, I texted her back to see if she wanted me to pass the info on to my hubby who is IN the wedding. She said NO and that the text was intended for me. I texted her back to directly ask why? To my knowledge, I was NOT IN the wedding. She corrected me... YES YOU ARE.

WOW... I must have misread a text message I received back in December. So needless to say, I have got to double up on my workouts and watch my calorie intake.

I will need to order my dress by February 10th in order to have in time to have any alterations done before the wedding.

I would love to have "Angela Basset" or "Regina King" arms. I will do my best without going crazy overboard. I will not starve. I will be sensible.

My motivation... 3 Weddings - June, September & October

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

2012 and still working on losing weight...

Well, I am not going to obsess about that. It is a work in progress. One that I am determined to finish. Anyway, I have 3 weddings to attend this year. One in June, September and October. I figure that I can set goals and meet them for those months.

June 2nd - 4.5 months away. Goal be down minimum of 20 lbs. I have started taking Zumba classes, and I am loving them. I have also gotten a free 2nd-hand treadmill that I am using. My goal is to walk 20 minutes before work and 20 minutes after at least 4 days out of the week. Zumba is an hour long class on Thursday nights.

September 2nd - to lose an additional 15 lbs.

October 2nd - to lose 5 more lbs.

I may not be at my goal weight by the October wedding, but I will be close. And yeah! If I lose more then, that's even better.

I have not yet conquered my eating habits. I am still working on not being an emotional eater. I am hoping that I will jump on the treadmill instead of eating. I am keeping more fruit and fewer chips and cookies in the house. I just can not be hungry. I know I just have to burn more calories than I take in. The more I exercise the better my food choices seem to be.

Side note:

Anyone know a good substitute for cream in coffee. I am trying to put a 4 ounces of 1% milk and 2 tablespoons of flavored creamer in 6 ounces of coffee with no sugar. So far I am adjusting to the taste. I would prefer 4 tablespoons of flavored creamer and no 1% milk and no sugar. I'm open for suggestions...

find foods that work with YOUR body chemistry.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 34 pounds .

i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.

you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.

I have gone from 198 to 164 pounds. i can now fit into a size 14 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 22 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.

one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth

i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt GREAT.

1st Day at Work after Test Results

Monday, November 28, 2011

I ate my mid-morning snack around 10:30am...1 slice 100% whole wheat toast and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter.

I took a 12 minutes brisk walk around 11:45 am.

So I ate my lunch at 12:45 away from my desk... simple tuna salad sandwich and a granny smith apple.

I will probably eat my afternoon snack about 3pm... sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pitachios, and golden raisins.

I have drunk my 8 cups of water already (by 1:12pm)

So far so good...

The Day After the Test Results

Saturday, November 26, 2011

The test results have sunk in, and I have made some small changes.

1. Today I kept my trail mix handy - pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, golden raisins and plain Cheerios.

2. I kept water with me.

3. I ate lunch at home (leftovers from last night instead of fast food)

4. I exercised - actually danced and Zumba.

5. I enlisted the help of some friends and my husband.

Hopefully the momentum will continue. Now to get some much needed rest..
