One more time...Round 2

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Well I am back at it again...I have gained about 13 pounds and have currenty lost 8 of those. I want to lose down to about 139. I hope by getting active in SP again...I will hold start holding myself accountable, AGAIN. I am not getting the support as I did before. Whenever I fuss about my weight gain, many people reply, "But look at you....you lost 100 pounds!!). Well that doesn't help me to get on track and stay there till i conquer my goal. Good luck everyone in each step you take on the journey to the new you!!

One Year Later...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Hello everyone. I have been off and on-line for a few weeks now. I am in the process of moving from one house to another and my computer is temporarily in storage, so I do not have the daily access I normally have. Hopefully next week all things will be back to normal, including my lifestyle. I have not been doing so good on the eating and exercising. My world is currently UPSIDE down...but life goes on. Just have to pick myself up and get started AGAIN!!. Well I have been at this lifestyle change for one year. I went to visit my doctor today and everything looked G-O-O-D!! He actually took me off another one of my meds. Told me not to take my blood pressure medicine for one week, then start back at a lower dosage. I will remain on my thyroid medicine though. I have another appointment to see him in two months which at that time we will determine if I need to continue my blood pressure medicine at all. I am so excited. My total weight lost to date is 98.5 pounds. My BMI currently is 26.10 and my BFI is currently 27.990. I did not start my measurements until December 2008 so not really sure what they were at the beginning. But from Dec '08 until June '09 I have lost an amazing 36.50 inches!!! It is awesome!! I am now wearing a size 10 bottom (down from a 22/24) and size medium top (down from a 22/24)!! I am just overwhelmed with how I feel AND look. I received SOOOO many compliments each day I just am amazed that 'I' could ever receive just one. I tell my story to all who want to listen. It is just a great feeling and I have so much energy, who would have known that I would feel this great!! My doctor praises me in my successes. He tells me I have gone about it the RIGHT way and that I should not have any setbacks as I did not have surgery to reach this point. He tells me I am healthy without all the deficiencies normally seen in one who has had surgery. I spent an hour in his office this morning listening to his praises to my success...I in turn praised SPARK PEOPLE to him and how it helped me and as to how I would not have been this successful without it!! Who knows...I may even TAKE and post pictures now. Might even look up someone who has some of my hand-me downs to take a picture with....THANKS TO ALL who supported me in my journey and to the man who I could not have done this without....my leader and faithful provider, Lord, Jesus Christ....amen

It's a Great Day!! I feel blessed..

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Well last week ended on the downside, and this week didn't start much better. The allergen count is way up, mountain cedar, in the area I live in. Allergen count up=asthma attacks for me. I called my doctor on Friday, after suffering an attack on Thursday, to see about starting a medicine I have used before to help open my airway up. He approved it, so I started taking the medicine; this resulted in even more coughing till I couldn't catch my breath. So I stopped the medicine on Sunday and tried calling the doctor back on Monday...please someone tell me why doctors feel as if they can take a vacation??? Don't doctors know people get sick 365 days a year....weekends and evenings included. Well, knowing where all this was headed, I chose to see his Physician's Assistant. She informed me it sounded has if I had swallowed a harmonica...as I felt this way too. She sent me for blood work and x-rays to rule out pneumonia. I informed her I had taken a flu AND pneumonia shot this year, as I didn't want pneumonia, in the past years I have had it at least once or twice a year. Well, I just knew I have made a lifestyle change, including diet and exercise, and this would not be the case. With God on my side, my diagnosis was 'asthma'; she felt like it started with allergies and went this way. She did tell me if the shot and four prescriptions didn't work by Wednesday, call back and she would start me on one more medicine. I do have an updraft machine at home, and hope I don't have to start using it. With all the bad news, or could be good news since it wasn't pneumonia, I still am working out--just taking it easy. She did tell me not to get out in the wind until I get better, so it kind of limits outside activities...but it will get better. With God on my side...who can be against me?? I feel blessed....it's a great day!!

SWEEEEET!!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

I have reached another milestone. I participated in a New Year's Day to Valentine's Day challenge "Lose 10 pounds" in this time frame. My start weight was 181.2 and my ending weight was 169.4. Did I do it?? YES I DID!! I lost a total of 11.8#'s and I am so excited. This was harder to do since I started working out 6 days a week. I found the myth of muscle weighs more than muscle evidently to be true. I am due for my monthly measuring session on February 20th. Last measurement session resulted in 10 inches lost in 25 days. Can't wait to see what the results are on the 35 days, which should have actually been 30 days. I just hope the results are just as SWEEEEET!!

My Day to Shine

Wednesday, February 04, 2009

I went to workout this morning at six a.m. at the Ladies Workout Express where I have been a member for right at three years. As I walked in my son's girlfriend said "Hey, it's the workout queen." I had not a clue what she was talking about. She pointed to the sign on the wall. It announces who earns the title of "workout queen". Beside my name it said 22 visits and January 2009 workout queen. I was shocked. I had, and still have no, idea of what qualifies you for this royal honor. I know that you get your picture taken and hung on the wall for the WHOLE year!! lol As I finished my workout and got ready to leave the owner said let me get you your bag. I am still in shock as she hands me a duffel bag that said Ladies Workout Express on one side and Workout Queen on the other. She then asked me if she could take my picture or I could come back and take it later. I chose the later as I had just finished working out and was not exactly a picture I wanted hanging around for a few years (there are still monthly and yearly queen's pictures hanging around, lol). So I am now in the running for 2009 Workout Queen woohoo!! See it does pay off to exercise!
