Summer clearance

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Yesterday I went to Durango and browsed the mall (what there's still left of it) and Walmart. Everywhere summer merchandise was on clearance and I found a handful of t-shirts for $2 at Walmart and a lovely colorful blouse at JC Penneys for $3.
Moving to Mexico I'll be in summer clothes for most of the year and to be quite honest I'm heartily sick of what I have been wearing for the last year or so. It doesn't help that summer is hanging on here - another day in the mid 80's today. Right now I wish summer clearance would mean summer clearing out... I'm longing for cooler weather and I picking up my snuggly sweaters, favorite boots etc wishing I could wear them - if only for a week or so... I do love warm weather, don't get me wrong but now and then I have visions from the past of snow, a log fire and that general cozy feeling....
Ok, one day of rain will probably cure me of that :)

You'll still have your place in CO, won't you? It sounds like you're moving to Mexico year-round permanently. Is that the plan?

I love the mid temps and being able to walk any time of day, so extremes either high or low get me down. Hope you get some of the cooler weather soon. Enjoy the day.

New week...

Monday, September 27, 2010

Last week was PMS week and I'm up a pound from last Monday. Considering what I've eaten that's not a surprise... This week I'm back with the program and will end the month on a positive note.
I started the day with yoga and breakfast will be an eggwhite berry smoothie, lunch salad with chicken and dinner something light. The chocs are locked up!!
Let's have a great week.

Yay for locking up the chocs! I had half a huge bar of dark choc left after making the cake and sent it to work with DH and told him to keep it there! lol

I am up 2 lbs too ( TOM)

I hope you have a great week, too! I hit a new low yesterday! But I had a hamburger for dinner and popcorn for a snack, so today I was afraid to step on the scale! Maybe tomorrow!

One day fall doesn't make...

Sunday, September 26, 2010

We're back in the 80's, warm summer weather and I pulled my shorts out again. Although it feels like summer the trees are telling a different story - they are starting to go golden.

Yesterday we went over to Durango to get a few bits at Office Depot and we stopped at a pizza place for lunch. Not the best of choices but we've both been craving pizza for a while. I minimized the damage but still had my fill. We also got a few things at the health food store - I love their curried turkey salad and I'll have some of that over a bowl of lettuce today.

Still catching up on paperwork and getting everything ready to take south. I'm quietly freaking out thinking about what I'm going to need for the business and also our personal taxes for the next 10 months... It makes me realize how much I rely on my archives...

Are you planning to stay for 10 months when you go down again? Wow! I guess I'd be afraid of that, too. I think the archive idea sounds good.

What kind of business do you have that you can take with you like that? Is it some sort of online business? I hope you don't mind my asking. I'm just curious. If it's something that portable, it must be online.

Maybe you need to develop a one year portable archive for your year to year book keeping system, one that will be easy to grab and throw in the car. Praying for inspiration. Hugs.

    that curried turkey sounds YUMMY!
O dear, you are so organized and so good with your paper work , I don't think you need to worry too much, one step at a time! follow the " method" you have set up and you will be ok!

Moon rising

Friday, September 24, 2010

Last night we had a full moon rising early - it wasn't quite dark yet and i got my camera out and took some pictures. Reviewed them on my digital screen and they were beautiful :)
This morning I stuck my card in the thingie that reds the pictures and puts them on iPhoto - no idea what went wrong but I lost the lot. It wouldn't read the card, then when I put the card back in the camera it had erased all the pictures as well.
emoticon
Lucky there weren't any really important pictures on there, right? This is upsetting enough and it was just a moon rise...

That's a shame. It's a good thing there wasn't anything important on it.

We are getting a deluge of rain. Some places to our south got more than 10 inches overnight. Lots of roads flooded down by Rochester, Mn.

That first snow is exciting. I didn't see any on the La Platas when I was walking this morning. That rain transformed everything. It was a perfectly lovely morning to be out.

Oh, I'm not ready for snow! I-70 is not fun in snow and I hope either DH and I get to Denver to see our daughter or she will be able to come to GJ - either way, it is NOT a fun trip in snow...
