Moon rising

Friday, September 24, 2010

Last night we had a full moon rising early - it wasn't quite dark yet and i got my camera out and took some pictures. Reviewed them on my digital screen and they were beautiful :)
This morning I stuck my card in the thingie that reds the pictures and puts them on iPhoto - no idea what went wrong but I lost the lot. It wouldn't read the card, then when I put the card back in the camera it had erased all the pictures as well.
emoticon
Lucky there weren't any really important pictures on there, right? This is upsetting enough and it was just a moon rise...

That's a shame. It's a good thing there wasn't anything important on it.

We are getting a deluge of rain. Some places to our south got more than 10 inches overnight. Lots of roads flooded down by Rochester, Mn.

That first snow is exciting. I didn't see any on the La Platas when I was walking this morning. That rain transformed everything. It was a perfectly lovely morning to be out.

Oh, I'm not ready for snow! I-70 is not fun in snow and I hope either DH and I get to Denver to see our daughter or she will be able to come to GJ - either way, it is NOT a fun trip in snow...

I live by the Grand Mesa & I like a LITTLE snow. Husband and I plan on going to our winter site in Arizona just before Thanksgiving - hope there is just a little before we go!

Fall weather

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

I was wishing for fall and here it is :) It's rainy and chilly, the heater is on and I had to find my jeans and a cardigan in the back of my closet. I love it!
We even get a sprinkling of snow on the divide.. it's the right time for it. Last year we had the first snow Sept. 23rd.

Yesterday we met with a friend we hadn't seen since last November and she called me skinny :) It's always nice to hear that... even if I know I'm only a few pounds lighter than when I last saw her. It was great to catch up, talk about the kids (our DD's went to school and church together) and just chat.

    Hello skinny! emoticon
Sorry I haven't stopped by in a while. I've been out of town working, and only stopped in sporadically when I could find time
I've been wishing for fall too... our leaves are changing and it got cooler... emoticonbut Mr. Wonderful says it's been warm here this week (86 degrees one day). It was 79 when I got home yesterday afternoon, but it's cooler today, so I think it just might be on its way.

Monday, September 20, 2010

The last few days have been filled with paperwork and data entry... catching up in the office. It feels good to be hands on again :)
Being home and into a routine again has helped to get rid of the travel bloat :)
142.3 this morning back to where i was about 10 days ago but still a few to go to get to goal (below 140)
Let's make this a good week!

Where is fall?

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Although the mornings are crisp, the sun rises later and the trees are starting to color up... the daytime highs are still in the mid 80's! I'm still dressing in shorts and sandals..
I was hoping to get some nice cool weather for a few weeks and maybe even a dusting of snow on the divide - not unusual for mid September. I guess summer is hanging on...

Fall is here! I'll trade ya!

It's 49 degrees right now, and I'm thinking the furnace might have to be turned on today! My walk with the dog was very cold....

gosh the "snow" word just makes me chill! My blood is so thin now that it's tough when I go back to Pennsylvania for Christmas to see the kids. I dress in many, many layers.

I am enjoying the prolonged warm temperatures since we had such a cool start to summer. I can recall days like this around here well into October. September can either be one of the driest or the wettest months of the year. The biggest floods have actually been in September not spring. This one is deadly dry.

Much better than my daytime highs of mid 90s with a heat index of 99-108. Although, we are getting a cold front this week and we'll have highs of 91. Woohoo! LOL I would love for it to be in the 80s then it would be Fall in Texas.

I think summer has officially left Michigan. Fall is upon us here. Our highs this week were in the 60s, and pretty cloudy and kind of dreary. I love fall though so I am not complaining.
