The Power of a Positive Face-SMILE

Sunday, August 26, 2007

The healthy reflection of the past week reminded me of last night. The family was over for a summer get together-the rain couldn't damper our delight in seeing eachother. All during the night, my clockside alarm clock, kept waking me, and giving an hourly time report, "It is now 2:00 AM." The first time it woke me I was startled. Usually I just push the button myself to learn the time-saves squinting in the dark. I heard it a few more times, giving me the time during the night. In the morning, with a clearer mind, I could only smile, as I recalled seeing my little 3 year old niece pushing the button on the clock to hear it speak. She had accidentally activated the hourly time announcement. My sleep hadn't been a good one, but just thinking of my niece always puts a smile on my face.

article on minute workouts

Saturday, July 21, 2007

Just read the article on trying smaller-minute workouts to help get into a longer workout routine. I like the idea. I will try it. I have a gym membership but haven't been able to think myself there. I don't think riding my recumbent is enough.

Something to ponder

Thursday, July 05, 2007

It's been awhile since my last blog. Time flies, as is summer. I keep cycling on my recumbent but haven't been to the gym in quite some time. I am afraid to get on a scale, I don't feel like I have lost weight, though my legs always feel it after riding the bike.
I need to take another vacation. Last years cruise, was awesome, I actually lost 10 pounds, perhaps I should get a job on a cruise ship, then I would constantly be walking everywhere, that or move to a city and sell my car. Things to ponder.
Must go, mindless television is about to begin _big brother. good night

My recumbant bike is great, but I havent lost any weight. I need to keep going to the gym and getting active. Anxiety holds a person back. My sister and I are planning another cruise in 2008 and I want to look at least as fit as I did after the trip. We walked everywhere. It was great.

Recumbant cycle

Monday, June 11, 2007

I bought a recumbant yesterday. It is a lower end model, regular 199, on sale for 129. I had wanted one for a few years after my stationary bike gave up the ghost. However, I also wanted an elliptical, and it won out-big mistake. It too is the cheaper model, and nothing like the ones at the gym by any means. With the recumant I think it will be good for me-I am not getting to the gym regular, but still get there, and the bike at home is always there. I love it-it is silent, so I can watch tv at normal volume. I may get the gym tomorrow morning, but if I don't my recumbant is staring at me at home, and it is so comfortable to sit on, no excuses. It may not be top model, but doing something is definitely better than nothing at all.
