Back in May I started waking very dizzy. It got worse and worse, and I tried to hide it, pretending it would go away, or googling ideas to fix the issue. I drove to work one day, and had to have my dad pick me up. I went to the doctor. My blood pressure was over 160. The doctor immediately put me on blood pressure pills and did further testing. I was in the 3% range for developing other issues withing the next 10years -such as risk for heart attack and diabetes. No thanks. The dizziness didn't subside. After three days, I returned to work---well---there was a gas leak(hence why I was dizzy). First they said it wasn't gas....it was my unscented hand lotion....finally they brought someone in. I have come to think of the gas leak as a blessing in disguise. My mom has high blood pressure-since her 40's and my brother as well...now me....After having tests, and seeing numbers on paper, even though it is 3%...I didnt accept that. I made changes and have lost 20 pounds since May. It is incredible. I did a crash course in healthy living and eating on the internet and magazines. At the time there were some PBS specials on about healthy living. I am not missing anything. I can still have the chips if I want them...I just dont want them right now. One thing I refused to give up was my chocolate...I compromised and switched to 70% dark. Every week I buy a bar...and I choose to either eat it all in one shot or stretch it out of the week.
