Calorie counting advice

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

Hi everyone I just made a discovery that may help some of you. One serving of raisin bran and 8 oz. of 2% milk equals 327 calories! Bran cereal, 5 oz. of raisins, and 8 oz. Vanilla almond milk unsweetened equals 162 calories! A difference of 165 calories! Put your own unsweetened raisins on your bran flakes the raisins in raisin bran are coated with sugar.

New Routes

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Yesterday and today was for exploring the area we moved to in March, the garden has slowed down a bit and there hasn't been much to preserve so I have had fun tracking out new routes to walk and go biking. I have found some really peaceful back roads that have been and will be a good work out because of the big hills.
My body hasn't been cooperating very well lately because of past lyme disease and slight scoliosis. I'm hoping that I can build the muscle so I can walk and exercise pain free by the time winter hits.
I really enjoy the walks. I pray as I go for people I meet, families I observe as I pass, Thanking the Lord for all my blessings and feel all the worries of the day dissolve.
It's really funny how hard it is to get going when I enjoy it so much once I get going.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend and God bless you all.

Still working toward fall harvest

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Planted green beans with the potatoes, beside and in the potato rows.
Squished potato bugs and their eggs. Not bad for this time of year, I've been keeping up with them.
Plan on planting black eyed Suzies in place of bachelor buttons that got murdered by the skunk after cool down. In the 90's again today.

A day in the garden

Monday, July 15, 2013

HOT HOT HOT Maxed out our thermometer in the sun, anyway I planted a second crop of green beans and cilantro, picked purslane (grows as a weed here) and added it to my nightly salad it was great and full of omega 3. Also had the first beet greens from the garden for dinner. Made my hubby happy with his scollops for his birthday.
Chickens drank 2 gallons of water and enjoyed all the weeds I put in their pen after weeding the beets. They should be laying soon, I can't wait to have good tasting eggs again.
Camping tomorrow for three days! Now I've better start packing!
