Microwave Tabata!

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I have done a bit of overindulging these last two to rethink & redo this,so...
for a quick start how about a little microwave tabata? Most mornings I have a low cal.
microwave egg sandwich (this morning it was Special Ks vegie version-which takes 1:15
to micro)so during that short spurt of time-how about a short spurt of hard activity?
Move as hard & as fast as you can while your meal is being zapped! Surprisingly, even
for that tiny bit of time you feel it-it's a start!

My most common microwave use last 30 seconds, which I use to do squats. Works well for me.

So I was thinking about all the things I wanted to do today...I then I thought about my
poor, dear dog & he hasn't been getting long enough walks lately-so off we went. There
is a long road that leads to my house with unused railroad tracks & a creek next to them.
Decided to follow the track out a ways...watched a couple of frogs hopping into the creek
& then on the way back-a sweet discovery! There in a just mowed farmers field by the woods-a deer! I was feeling sorry for the deer all alone & praying it had family(silly,I
guess, but in this area, deer have been dying from a disease caused by nats-only affects
deer)then it's mate showed up! So sweet-I didn't even know we had deer in our neighborhood! So here's the moral of the story: the farther you go-the more you get to
see! Stay strong & keep going-push it!

That is so cool to see deer and also have its mate show up too. Just remember to keep your distance or you might have a run in with the mate. It is mating time for them. emoticon

Awwww, I love the story of the dear. Hey, I would be thinking the same about it having a family:) Feel the same way when I see this stray cat around work. I get a little sad thinking he needs some love. Can't get close enough to him though.
Glad you had the nice walk!

for tomorrow

Monday, April 30, 2012

So...tomorrow I will be 58yrs old-young? This one gets me-and yet-I am healthier than
I was last year(or the year before...)I have mellowed. I have grown stronger...I do believe age is just a number-now the question is-how we choose to age? Old,sour grapes
or fine wine? My goal is to be healthier. I want to be better at 60 than I was at 50...

Dig deeper

Thursday, June 09, 2011

Started yesterday on a positive note-the devil is after me...I found myself quickly overwhelmed
at work. The work load/stress continues to grow as I continue to fall further down.By lunch
(which I worked through)I was treated for a uti-I had an appt with the rheumatologist at 5pm
who reminded me I have 2 kinds of arthritis & most likely fibromyalgia, which by the way, increases my heart risks. I have only lost a lb since my last visit. The good news is we will
try adding another drug to get my pain level down/the bad news is more side effects...ah well.
Some days it is hard to get through-much less believe in a future...there must be a reason I am
being hit on all fronts(other worrys too),I guess I need to really dig deeper, spend more time in
devotions & trust God. Trust is a hard word-guess it wouldn't be trust if it was easy...

I think "Trust God" would be a good mantra for you. I went through a period in my life where I used that and it really helped. In any situation, you can say those two words and it puts a whole new light on things. They dissolve stress, they dissipate worry, they erase comprehension. Trusting God seems to solve everything. It's really a good lesson to learn and one we often need to revisit and relearn as life moves on. Hope you are having a good week! Keep the faith! Trust God! Spark on! emoticon

Put all your trust in Jesus, put all your troubles there too, then stop stressing over them, let the Lord handle them. ( once you put them on the shelf for him, stop taking them back down) If the day is too hard, stop dealing with the day as a whole, just hour by hour, or even min. by min. Put a smile on your face, and love the Lord with all your heart! Things will begin to fall into place, and get easier. Sending Love, and Prayers

I agree with Kelly and Maggie here, Linda. It is amazing that your attitude is so good considering all that you face each day. I think water therapy would be great for you and hope you look into it. We have many facilities here that give free use of their pools and even have special programs set up for people with Arthritis. Do ask your doctor about this or investigate on your own.

Hang in there sweetie and know that we will be here for you. Sorry you are having such a tough time right now.

With all that you are dealing with on the medical front, I think it's fantastic that you are trying to stay positive and continue to work on your weight loss goals. Medications take a toll on your body even while they are doing "good", and definitely affect your weight loss. Are you doing "pool" workouts which are easier on your joints? Stay strong and continue to believe in yourself!

new ways

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

Still dealing with long, stressful days,so I'm trying to find new ways of dealing with it...I keep
thinking back to some things Joel osteen has said: basically to keep saying good things until
you believe them & trusting God to do the best for you.I thought about his story of God changing
Sarai 's name to Sarah-(not sure of sp)-I went out & bought a new pen to use with Cinderella
on it! (Sarah means Princess).Need to change the whole thought process-change,after all, begins on the inside.
