THIS IS A SITE I FOUND TODAY THAT JUST MIGHT BE GREAT TO HELP US GET STARTED PLANNING FOR 2011 IN A VERY POSITIVE WAY.

I'VE ALREADY GOTTEN A NEW SPIRAL NOTEBOOK AND STARTED WRITING DOWN MY

FAV QUOTES TO START 2011. DO YOU HAVE ONE TO SHARE?

Sunday, December 26, 2010

THESE ARE MY FAV MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES FOR 2011:

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.
-Stephen Hawking

No one can deny you or grant you anything. It all comes to you by virtue of your vibration.
--- Abraham

"Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation leans on the doorbell".
~Author Unknown~

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
***Thomas A. Edison***

"We must be the change we want to see.".
.~Mahatma Gandhi~

"Take control of your consistent emotions and begin to consciously and deliberately reshape your daily experience of life."
****Tony Robbins****

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. - Winston Churchill

You can't lose weight without exercise. But I've got a philosophy about exercise. I don't think you should punish your legs for something your mouth did. Drag your lips around the block once or twice.
~ Gwen Owen

There's so much pressure to see quick results that it's easy to forget the point of this, which is quite frankly to save your life. Don't ignore increases in strength and overall feeling of health and well-being. Those are goals too. - Dr. John P. Hussman

Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but to be coaxed downstairs a step at a time. - Mark Twain

When you get to a plateau, think of it as landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of rehearsal for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world. - Laura's Weight Loss Journey

At first, I thought this was too simple of a quote and not nearly profound enough to be a mantra for the year. But it's stuck in my head now and I'm changing my mind.

"Go big or go home. Because it's true. What do you have to lose?"
-- Eliza Dushku

MY SAPPHIRE SPARK BUDDY

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

HEY ALL,

MY SPARK BUDDY IS PAT. PAT AND I BOTH LIVE IN ALABAMA. WE WERE BOTH IN THE MILITARY AND WE BOTH LOVE YOUTUBE AND NCIS.

SHE AND HER HUSBAND BEGAN THEIR WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM TOGETHER. HE COOKS AND SHE PREPS. ISN'T THAT A GREAT COMBINATION? PAT, HER HUSBAND, AND HER SON ARE ALL ARMY VETERANS.

SHE TRIES REALLY HARD TO GET IN 10,000 STEPS PER DAY. SHE ALSO LIKES WATER EXERCISING AND HAS NAMED HER TRUSTY TREADMILL "FREDDY". SHE HAS BUDDIES THAT SHE WALKS WITH REGULARLY. SHE IS PROUD TO HAVE LOST OVER 40 POUNDS SINCE BEING ON SPARK.

WHEN PAT FOUND OUT THAT I HAD A BAD WEEK WHEN I FELL OF THE WAGON, SHE SAID, "THAT WAGON NEEDS SEATBELTS". I AGREE.

HAVE A GREAT DAY SPARK BEAUTIES!

I really, really like the imagery of "seatbelts" on the wagon.

I'll remember that!

And yes - get back on the wagon (he he)

WHY IS IT?

Saturday, December 11, 2010

HEY ALL,

WHY IS IT THAT YOU CAN GO FOR DAYS OR EVEN WEEKS WITHOUT CRASHING OFF THE WAGON, AND THEN YOU JUST H-A-V-E TO HAVE THE SUGAR/CARBS/DESSERT/BREAD THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO WITHOUT?

OR WE CAN STAY ON OUR EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR WEEKS, BUT THEN , ALL OF A SUDDEN, ONE DAY, WE CAN'T GET ON THAT STAT BIKE FOR TWO DAYS?

I GUESS WE AREN'T SEEKING PERFECTION, BUT PROGRESS.

I'D APPRECIATE YOUR THOUGHTS

THANKS

I sure think we are all in the same boat here...and if we knew the solution to this we'd be thin already! Just hang in there...you weren't perfect every day before you got here, you won't be able to manage it now. Just keep working at it, you'll be okay!

Hi Linda. I wish I knew! Two things I find helpful when I'm struggling are...

1. Judging myself for what I coulda/shoulda/woulda done has absolutely no value or purpose other than to make me feel worse, so I try to leave judging out of the picture completely.

2. Every positive choice is progress. No matter how insignificant a single positive choice may seem, all of them combined add up to a better state of health.

Hang in there, Sweetie!

I understand what you mean because I have been getting up 2 hours early to exercise for weeks(like since August or July) and then this week I just hit the wall Thursday afternoon and could not get moving Friday morning at all. I am glad to know I am not alone in this. I think it is because we push so hard for so long that sooner or later our bodies just say "enough already!!" Then we have to take a moment to breathe and just get back to it ASAP! emoticon emoticon Just pick yourself back up and remember you are worth all of it!! emoticon

CATLADYX8 12/11/2010 11:43AM

I was doing good until Thanksgiving. Then all of a sudden I was getting so tired on the treadmill I found I couldn't walk a few minutes and I would have to stop, so....I gave up until three days ago. Now I am back on track and taking it slower. This is a struggle we all face at some time or another. I just start over and keep on going doing the best I can.

I AM NOT SURE WHY THESE THINGS HAPPEN. I KNOW THAT MOST OF US ALL STRUGGLE WITH THIS AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO FIGURE OUT WHY. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!! emoticon
