I agree with COMPUTERTEACHER. It's more realistic to meet goals that aren't "all or nothing." Fruit is so wonderful this time of year. How can you make that a great dessert that fits in your menu?

Whew - that's quite a list! The only one I question is giving up desserts for 10 weeks. You don't have to do that... just make choices about what you'll eat for dessert. Strawberries with light Cool Whip over a slice of angel food cake, a berry smoothie, Skinny Cow truffle bar... there are a lot of options. SparkRecipes has a great database of ideas.

cholesterol helps repair muscle

Saturday, June 05, 2010

"As you exercise, your muscles can become sore because they are rebuilding muscle mass. More cholesterol may result in a more robust inflammatory response. We know that inflammation in some areas, such as near the heart, is not good, but for building muscles it may be beneficial, and cholesterol appears to aid in this process."

The scientists believe that cholesterol has an important role in muscle tissue repair critical in building muscle mass. It shows that there is still a lot about cholesterol that we don't know, Riechman said

As a person who does much weight training, this is very interesting. Despite my Trainer's best effort, I rarely get muscle soreness. Perhaps my diet is the reason why.
