Half way through Lent and my Low Carb Intro

Day 21 of Lent and a good day for me to be reminded that Jesus takes us by the hand and lifts us up [Mark9:27] I am encouraged to walk with Him, knowing that when I stumble, He will in fact lift me up!! That is encouraging for all of life, but the dieting efforts in particular.

Low carb Day 21 and the first day to keep it under 70 - I can see this is going to take more specific planning to keep it under. But so excited to see that the fiber #s are staying higher with using beans and berries daily. Learning and enjoying it and not really hungry or "suffering" as I have in the past when dieting by calories or types. This is a go all around!!! I will succeed and "Lifestyle this yet!!!"

    I used to do low carb all the time and would lose weight but also ended up gaining it all back again as soon as I stopped eating that way. I also did not feel well doing that diet but I have heard allot of people say that they feel good on it. If it is working for you then good...I do know it is really hard and limiting. I remember drinking high protein shakes and that really helped me a lot. I am having an issue getting enough fruit and veggies.....I tend to head towards those carbs so maybe doing this for awhile would be a good thing for me to get back on track with.

Days 19 an 20 of Lent and Low Carb

I'm finding that I am just not a blogger by nature - I would rather write to people on my teams than to just blog along for undetermined people to read it. i guess I am just more on-on-one or small group that the big picture ... but I am determined to finish my course of sharing this walk with whoever....
Lent ... Today's reading was the transfiguration - This has always puzzled me because I can't figure out the significance of seeing the Old Testament law giver and prophet. I hoped to get an understanding this year, but it is still a mystery - one little comment was that Jesus came to fulfill the law and the prophets... but not sure how that applies to my life???? Anyone have a handle on this???

Low Carb - is getting better - pretty much the same issues - i want my fruit, not veggies...learning to eat what is good for me not always just what I WANT!!! Am finding it easier to do with out much grain - so all is going OK. Nothing very exciting here.

Lent Backtracked to Mark 6 this morning and read the neatest thing in s 31 ... because of your busyness, come by yourself to a quiet deserted place and REST! Oh how precious that the Lord instructs us to do that! He wants us to rest and be alone with Him. I am so being blessed with the scripture readings this year!!

Low Carb - Learning, learning, learning - so good to be studying again and for this to be coming along - I think the couple days of not counting, just reading labels and learning were good for me. Today was the highest fiber day in months!!! I am putting it all more into practice - love those Blueberries and four bean salad was pretty tasty too. Simple foods are good for me and delicious tasting!

Food changes are doing well - now if I could just get in some good exercise to go with it!

Lent ..In Mark 8 Jesus looked at His disciples and rebuked them ...gulp .. I feel like maybe He did some looking at my eating last weekend and shook His head. But I feel like I have corrected with encouragement to go out and do better -

Low Carb - surprised that there are no cravings today after the splurges - but so thankful and back on track

Crazy numbers, I can not guess them at all yet - just writing down what I eat and let the computer do the figuring ...I love the way Sparks does this - i know there are other programs out there but sure am liking this learning curve.

Monday starts a new week - so back in the saddle or back on the wagon after being away from home and emotions running too high to control the carbs - too new in this lifestyle to stand my ground - but was at least aware of the carb content when eating them - just not disciplined enough to decline them or get better choices - I will do better next time as i learn and prepare better ahead of time - i learned this with gluten free last year so I can do this too - I will succeed - I am not discouraged,just challenged to win the next time around.
