Monday starts a new week - so back in the saddle or back on the wagon after being away from home and emotions running too high to control the carbs - too new in this lifestyle to stand my ground - but was at least aware of the carb content when eating them - just not disciplined enough to decline them or get better choices - I will do better next time as i learn and prepare better ahead of time - i learned this with gluten free last year so I can do this too - I will succeed - I am not discouraged,just challenged to win the next time around.

Lent : Rev.3:20 Jesus stands at the door of our heart and knows - He is a gentleman and will not enter without invitation. But if you invite Him into your life, He will come in and share a meal with you. He will abide. He will give you the abundant life He has promised and today I had the reminder again of how he orders each of our days - might not be what I planned but He was so very evident in the course of the day and the ministry He had for me to do. Oh I am so blessed to have Him abide here!!!

Low Carb is going well - actually seeing my hunger and cravings disappear! Feeling so much more "on and even keel" through my day. Actually went too low in calories so am having an extra piece of cheese after the accounting is done!

Day 12 Lent and Low Carb

Lent - today's devotional didn't seem to click with me today - so went on to regular Bible reading and was reminded how Jesus sent out His disciples 2 by 2 and gave them power over evil spirits .. and was a reassurance to me that I am doing right to go spend some time with my daughter the next few days as she if facing another phase in her grieving over the time she lost her home to fire last October - there is a court hearing coming up and she has to make statements and give lists of her losses to the attorneys - so i will go be her encourager as she faces the harsh reminders of her losses and continue to pray that there be no bitterness spring up in her heart. We will go 2x2 and I will hopefully strengthen her authority over the sadnesses and angers.

CARBS - doing well - still learning and evaluating how to balance things I really like to eat with what is good for me!

Day 11 of Lent and Low Carb

Lent day 11 (Remember I don't count Sundays) "Don't be afraid. Just Believe" Mark 5:36. I Turned 63 this year and I have been surprised at the increased amount of fear I have of falling, of illness, of husband's illnesses ... of getting old!!! and of loosing my brothers in death [all three have very fragile heart issues and other complications have put each of them on the line of life and death in the last three months. ] These repetitions in the scripture of Do not be afraid have been good for me. Then today there was a separate page in my devotional bible that was a compilation of verses of reminders that God is faithful;He has plans to prosper us; live according to His word; He will deliver us from our troubles; have hope in the power of His Spirit and again to be strong and courageous for He is with me, he will not fail me, He will not forsake me....DO NOT BE AFRAID; JUST BELIEVE. Wow! powerful stuff! Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!

Low Carb well, day 11 I go down one more notch to net carbs of 80 for this 10 days ... I think I am ready for this and YEAH I did it the first day!!! Loving the big green veggie salad! and splurging a little on some special meats --- little can of shrimp tonight! didn't get in quite as many fibers but balanced out OK!!

    Believing God is easy when I keep our eyes on Him and remember who my God is. It is when I let my focus get on the circumstances and situations of life that fear gets hold. Thanks for this reminder. I see a situation I need to evaluate with these glasses on. Hugs.

Lent 9 Friday - From Ps 50:11 You have turned my mourning into dancing. When there are no words to soften the pain of loss, God comforts us with the thought of our future with Him and our loved ones. This devotional was very precious to me as it was funeral day for my dear friend's mother. What a blessing that the Father knows just what we will need for each day!!!
Lent 10 - Saturday Mark 4:34 When Jesus was alone with his disciples, he explained everything to them - the Lord wants us to spend time alone with Him so we can read his work and the Holy Spirit can teach us and help us understand our needs and wants and His plan for our lives.

Low Carb 9 &10...Sure wish the nutrition tracker included fiber up on itemized tracking - but thankful it does show in day's total - and I am gradually getting those fiber #s up - probably the best I have done since going gluten free in Jan 2011!

    I too work on Fibre and also iron. The bad thinkg is some of the food doesn't have accurate numbers for the iron.

    You are doing great! My nutrients I am tracking right now are just the ones on the normal spark musts. I am praying about which one to add in increasing my nutritional awareness.
