Pedometer found!!

Hanging right where I put it so I wouldn't lose it HaHa but then I forgot where that was. I have it clipped on a scok today - because wearing a jumper with no pockets or place to put it - now will research goals for its use and see how that goes. I am encouraged!

Now someone else share how they use thiers.

    I haven't used mine since my knee surgery. I will be glad when I can walk my 10,000 steps again. Glad you found yours.

    I walk more steps than I thought I did just within my home daily work with daycare children. Kind of understand why I get so tired!! Would like to get a smaller, less conspicuous one for wearing all the time as I won't wear this one "in public" Hmmmm Vanity!! Maybe will be my reward for monitoring steps x two weeks!! They really aren't very expensive - i will check with my sister who has done several challenges with pedometers. stay tuned and tell me more about yours when you use it!

    emoticon Glad you found it. I hate it when the thing I am looking for is right where I left it so I wouldn't forget where I left it!!! Ha! We all do it! I am going to buy myself one later this month as a reward! Let me know how you decide to use yours and if you learn any motivating information about pedometers. Smiles Barb

Beginning month #2 ...March 2011

New month with Sparks. Goals similar with goal to add minimal exercise - searching for lost pedometer, measureinng waist, counting times up and down stairs and goal of 5 x 13 steps - Very small gaols for some but i is a place for me to begin.

I feel like I am ready to share a little of my weight journey
I am almost 62, have been this approximate weight since end of first pregnancy 31 years ago. Prior to that I was within 20 pounds of "ideal" and considered myself a healthy young person. I never lost the pregnancy fat! Then another pregnancy and it still remained. I have yo-yoed with the top 20-30# but have never gotten below the magic 200# mark - I now have HOPE!!

I am now gluten free in an effort to learn with my adult daughter who has been diagnosed celiac and has a life threatening allergy to wheat. Also hoping it will improve my fibromyalgia symptoms. I also have been on supplements to improve a sluggish thyroid and am warm through the first winter of my adult life also!

I have really appreciated the Sparks methods of tracking and feel encouraged to keep at it no matter how slow the loss may be - next hurtle will be to gently begin to do a little bit of exercise and not go over the limit of my fibro. I have a great amount of faith in God and that He would have my body be healthy to better serve in whatever areas of life are ahead.

Weightwatcher principles helped some since Nov 2010 but I really like the sparks best and have found a comfortable nitch on line to be accountable along with three or four people I know and account to locally. God is good and has promised Abundant life John 10:10.

    Welcome--- you have taken the HARDEST step and admitted that something has to change in your life... so CONGRATS! One thing that you need to know that Spark is NOT a diet! The difference here is that THIS isn't dieting. THIS is re-learning what is normal and learning to listen to your body. Your body has a lot to tell you... but learning to listen is the key.

I am glad you have come here and are beginning to take the steps necessary to change your life. It is tough right at first, of course, but after about 3 weeks, it starts to FEEL good and make sense. You start noticing changes that make it ALL worth it.

You CAN do this-- you are strong enough to change your life! Dieting doesn't work because you don't learn to live in the REAL world-- you don't learn how to make better choices because with dieting, you have strict rules--- sometimes even meals prepared for you. In real life, as you well know, there are all kinds of foods you enjoy that diets would never allow... but here on Spark, you can learn to coexist with those meals, to incorporate them into your life in a healthy way. You don't have to GIVE UP anything for this to work... you just have to learn to be moderate about how much you eat! Coexisting with the foods you love teaches you to be moderate in your enjoyment of them--- and you start to learn to love foods that are healthier, too.

One thing I highly suggest-- if you have not done it already-- is take MEASUREMENTS and pictures asap. Sometimes the scale doesn't budge but the inches tell a different story entirely-- gaining muscle while losing fat is just one of the side effects of working out, so being able to watch your measurements change is a VERY good thing. Believe me, you will be SO glad you did it.

Today is a new day and the rest of your life is right in front of you! You will find all the motivation you could ever need just by motivating others... you have to try it.... reply to other people's blog with encouragement and you will find your own encouragement! Joining teams and a challenge on here will get even more involved... and I HIGHLY recommend getting involved. When you find friends here, you WANT to be here more!

You CAN do this--- and I just know you will!!!
