Did you watch television last night? I am so depressed.

Friday, September 09, 2011

Not by the President's speech, that's another whole story, but by the fact that football season has started. I know a lot of you like football, but I'm tired of the noise already. Seriously, I can feel the weight of it on my shoulders.

LOL - I'm not much of football lover either. I, on the other hand, do love baseball (well, just the Yankees) and I know when football starts that baseball season is almost over. I find that depressing. Let's go for a walk instead of eating ice cream, OK? emoticon

I QUIT!!

Saturday, August 07, 2010

I quit...I've been on Spark People for 4 months now, and have lost 11 pounds. I've lost and gained the same 1 pound for the last six weeks. I'm tired of doing this, it doesn't work.

That's what I've told myself before. Before SP, when the entire emphasis was on weight loss. On other programs when I have reached this point, and have plateaued out. I would just say it wasn't worth it. Never mind the fact that I HAD lost 10 pounds, never mind the fact that my clothes were fitting better, none of that mattered, I wasn't losing, so I QUIT.

NOT THIS TIME!! This time IS different. This time is not just weight loss. This time is about getting healthy and fit, and staying that way.

It's not just about the food. It's about getting out of bed in the morning (every morning) and walking. It's about getting the report from the doctor's office that my blood pressure is good and my cholesterol is down.

It's about pulling a pair of slacks out of the closet and KNOWING that they will fit and be comfortable all day long. What a feeling.

So yeah, I quit. I quit worrying that the weight is not coming off as fast as I had hoped it would. I know it will, but right now I'm getting stronger, I can run further that I have run in 30 years, and I feel good.

You have the right attitude. I'm been the same weight for 2 weeks and it's a little depressing but I know that in the end it will all be worth it. Keep it up and before you know it the weight will start to come off.

Nothing wrong with slow and steady (or sometimes a little unsteady). You'll get there!

emoticon A lot of times you are losing inches and don't even realize it! To be honest, I quit weighing myself, only doing it through my wellness checks. Another thing if you aren't already doing it, is to mix up your workouts. That is what helped me, and before I knew it, I was at goal weight. I fluctuate 2 to 5 pounds every month, I think it is the hormonal thing, lol!
Keep up the great work. Your doing wonderful, hugs, DJ

Really cute blog! You made me LOL emoticon ! And - you got me emoticon!! I was ready to see why you wanted to quit SP and then, depending on your reasons, perhaps ask you to stay.

So glad you aren't giving up!!

All the best in achieving your goals for a healthier life!! emoticon emoticon
