Okay so the assignment for this challenge was, 'Write a blog sometime this week and remind yourself why you started this journey."
Wow! There are a number of things that I could say here, however I'm a believer that the hardest is the one that causes the most growth. So, I'll blog on that.
Last year about this time (3-18-09) you remember this kind of date as it affects your life so profoundly. My family was told that our Father had 3 months to live. He was dying of a rare form of cancer, mesothelioma. There was nothing that could be done for him. Nothing, that was hard to except but except it we must and try to enjoy the little time we had left with Dad. We had 2 different family reunions as not everyone could make it at the same time. We were also able to celebrate Dad’s 77th birthday on June 1st and then his home going on the 18th day of June. We have a very large family there are 13 children & spouses, 46 grandchildren & spouses, 56 great-Grandchildren & spouses, 4 great-great-grandchildren, that’s a total of 119 decedents from Mom & Dad. I along side of my Mother cared for my Dad for the next 3 months. We had days of joy and days of tears and the fear of loss. My Dad was concerned to have to leave us all behind, especially Mom one day he talked with me about taking care of her when he was gone (I’m the oldest of his 7 children). During that talk he said “You have to take care of yourself to be able to take care of Mom.” I knew what he was talking about as I was experiencing a lot of medical; problems most of the common ones associated to being over weight. My Father died exactly 3 months to the day, on June 18th.
For the next 2 months, I found that one learns to live with the loss, the tragedy, the waste, and the gaping hole in the fabric of one's life. There is no closure, nor would I want one. I want to remember him all my life, vividly: his laughter, the smell of his Aspen cologne just after he had shaved, his moments of joy, his humility, and his integrity. So on Aug. 13th,2009 I found SparkPeople and joined. That’s why I started this journey, because the end of Dad's earthly journey.
Daddy you are greatly missed.

Romans Let us
The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rom. 13:12
Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rom. 13:13
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. Rom. 14:13
Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Rom 14:19
Corinithians Let us
Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor. 5:8
Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Cor. 7:1
Galatians Let us
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Gal. 5:25
Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Gal. 5:26
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal. 6:9
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Gal. 6:10
Philippians let us
Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Phil. 3:16
Thessalonians Let us
So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
1 Thes. 5:6
But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 1 Thes. 5:8
Hebrews Let us
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. Heb. 4:1
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.Heb.4:11
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Heb.4:14
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Heb. 4:16
Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, Heb. 6:1
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Heb. 10:22
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Heb. 10:23
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Heb. 10:24
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Heb. 10:25
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Heb. 12:1
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, Heb. 12:28
Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.. Heb. 13:13
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name. Heb. 13:15
John Let us
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
Revelation Let us
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Rev. 19:7

Psalm 95
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
3 For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,

Hebrews 10:23-39
23Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. 33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.
35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For in just a very little while,
"He who is coming will come and will not delay.
38But my righteous one will live by faith.
And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him." 39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.

When the world comes crashing in
And chaos rules my mind,
I turn my heart to you, Lord,
And pure, sweet peace I find.
You lift me out of trouble
You comfort me in pain;
You nourish, heal and cleanse me,
Like cool, refreshing rain.
In times of joy and bliss,
When things are going right,
You lift me even higher,
And fill me with delight.
You listen to my prayers;
You hear my every plea;
I'm safe because I know
You're always there for me.
