Good morning sparkers :D

I thought i had wondered off the path yesterday and started not to care by the end of the night. But i tracked my food for yesterday and i found that i was still in the clear emoticon
I guess everything is starting to fall into place, the more healthy life styles that i choose for myself and my family.
I am still trying to push myself to get up in the morning with my husband to get in my exercises before my little girl wakes up, which i almost managed today emoticon
I did my strength training for today and rode my bike as well.
I hope everyone has a great day today.
Take care, Jo emoticon emoticon

Fitness journal and other things

I recently thought of writing a blog everyday to share how I'm feeling what I did and crazy little bits of info. Today was an ordinary day. I got up, fell back asleep since we just got a new addition to our family....our puppy Max. I tracked my entries that I normally would do and a little extra. I am starting to notice the difference when I do track on a regular basis. emoticon I have lost weight but am waiting to have my weigh in exactly 1 week and to make sure it stays off.
I have had to struggle with this since I recently lost my baby at 8wks. It was awful at first just thinking about it and the thought of trying for another was out of the question, but i have tackled that monster and going full force forward emoticon
So today is/was a great day because I am one step closer to my goals, and I know we all can do it, it's our will and strengths that keep pushing us all forward.
To all my fellow sparkers....WE ALL ARE #1's AND WE ALL CAN DO IT!!!!
Goodnight and sleep well, see everyone tomorrow for another wonderful sparky day. emoticon

Lost my way :( started all over again :)

I find mysellf once again trying to lose weight and keep it off, i have wandered away from the path, like i have so many times before. Here i am coming up on my 31st birthday really soon with 8 extra pounds that i didn't have before. i am exercising again, and trying to eat better but following the eating patterns on here is very difficult.
since i weighed myself in october i have put on 8 lbs....that just seems so depressing in itself! but i am determined to lose it again and keep the healthy life style and eating habits that i am going to get in return for rewarding myself :)
So here i am to say that i will try extra hard this time not to give up or quit but to keep on walking down that path to better health :)
to all sparkers out there new or old if you have fallen off the wagon don't worry we all can get back up again and join the ride no matter how many times we fall there will always be a hand to lift us back up :)
enjoy the end of the week and the weekend :)

Highs and Lows

Saturday, February 05, 2011

Well I made it to Edmonton and we are settled into our new home :)

My motivation is always up and down, I'm good for a couple of weeks and then i lose interest. Is this how it always starts out? I mean I really do want to lose the weight if not that even being more toned would be good. How do I stay motivated? My spouse to be is always saying I can do it, I know you can. Even my little girl likes watching me run on the wii. Even my eating habits are up and down, a couple of weeks I/we eat great and then its back down again. :( I just need a little more push and some more patients I guess.

I have managed to lose a 1 1/2 lbs and keep it off, that is a plus side. :) Now if I could just lose a little more.

If anyone has some ideas on how to get past the low points that would be great.

Have a great day all,
J emoticon

    Hello Jo-anne,
As you see I have visited you on your page...and am guessing you are well and truely settled in now ? emoticon Have read your Blog and do you know , I am not surprised that you find yourself wavering from time to time motivationally . Let's face it moving "house" is huge in itself ! Then too, as we are moving into our Autumn and Winter you will be moving into your Spring and Summer. From what I have read and seen in the papers, and when I watch, TV the Winter in northerly regions has been pretty "rough" at times ! We all go into "downers" when constant snow, cold, rain and grey skies seem to be all but endless. A really good dose of sunshine is what is needed I think. Sometimes we women can judge ourselves so harshly , when really all we need to do is "slow down" a little, be kind to ourselves , take five and give ourselves a break... I am thinking you are doing better than you give yourself credit for ! emoticon Take care , and have a lovely week . Warmest,

Stress can impact your body's ability to shed fat. Being under a lot of stress releases certain hormones that tell your body not to burn as much fat - to save it so that you can "survive" the stress. Your body doesn't know that you're getting married; it perceives all stress as a crisis that could impact your survival. So if you're really stressed, that may be impacting your weight loss efforts.

Try to watch your nutrition first and foremost, and if you can, try to get in some good quality strength training. Strength training goes a LONG way to transforming your body's appearance. You will not look like a guy or a body builder if you pick up a heavy weight. It doesn't quite work like that - there's more involved.
