So i am trying to figure out the best system to get back on track. It is always one thing after another. I hate it. So I am wondering what each of you does to stay on track?

Do you weigh everyday?
Track your calories?
Set specific workout goals?
What is your system?

    Yes, I weigh myself every day.
When I am truly on track (so right now doesn't count!) I do track my calories. It even seemed to work when I counted calories only during the week and not on weekends. It doesn't really work for me to not track them at all though.
I don't have very specific workout goals...I have more of an ideal workout schedule that I try to meet, but I don't stress if I don't make it. (The "ideal" is Body Pump 3x/week, cardio 60min/day)

    Every day is a new start for me. I weigh in each day and try to eat right and get my exercise. Some days work out and others don't but you have to TRY every day.

    I track my calories and sodium (because I bloat easily), using SP's Nutrition Tracker. It's easy for me to stay on plan -- if I am considering eating something high calorie or high sodium, all I have to do is imagine entering it into the Nutrition Tracker and what an impact it will have on the day's total, and that's enough to dissuade me from straying.

I have to admit I am kind of obsessive about it -- I enter EVERYTHING, every bite, and if the Nutrition Tracker doesn't mention the specific brand or food I enter the values manually. I also measure my food so that I can get as accurate a calorie and sodium count as possible. Often it takes some mathematical computations to figure out exactly how to enter it to be exact, but I enjoy that. Maybe some people would think that such a strict attention to tiny details is unnecessary, but it works for me (I tend to be analytical anyway).

I work at a job that keeps me on my feet and walking, moving, stretching for hours on end, so I don't do any other more formal exercise. If I ever change jobs to something more sedentary I will have to change that, I know....

Life is good. Ava took her first steps today. Woohoo. I ran 4 miles at a nice pace of 11min/mile. I was doing sprints and walk but combined that is nearly faster than when I was running all the time.

It felt fabulous.

Got a lot of "life" things in the air...just waiting for it to all settle. Eek.

So sweet that Ava took her first steps! :) donnie is just starting to sit up on his own (but still teeters and falls over). baby steps... ;)

Doing it

Not perfect but definitely doing it. It is all about understanding I can't do it all. But I do think that I am getting back into the groove. I have had some bad days because ava is teething so waking up at 5am is NOT possible with no sleep. But I am not snacking on little sweets and really have stayed almost completely away from them. I am doing good with running and or working out in the morning.
I feel good!

yep thats it.
21 days.
no sweets - i dont even like sweets but there is always a damn party, bday or candy bowl at work
run/walk - everyday. i can do it in the morning before work...

Shoot it is 21 days. I should be able to do anything for 21 days to set a habit. Right?

    you can do it! but, dang, it sure isn't easy these days, is it! I was doing well, then had too long of a break this weekend. i was supposed to be doing the recovery week, but i think i interpreted it as a rest week! ;) I only worked out 3 times. oh well, this is a new week. :)

Has it really been three months since i posted. While I am sad to say that I have just reverted to bad behaviors and time crunch.

I did start running again and was really inspired - then life got in the way. It really is a list of 900 exuses. But hey at least I know it.

Life is awesome other than my weight so I feel really happy that I know I can get healthy and that will be the final piece in a great life.

Cant wait to get back to it.
