Zumba is fun!

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Last night I did Zumba and OMG! I loved it! I felt kinda silly at first dancing "by myself" in the living room. Then after awhile I just lost myself in the music and Zumba'd my booty off.

My DH was on our spin bike for the same amount of time but I was drenched! He he was curious so he promised to Zumba with me tonight.

My Bodyfit charted 300 calorie burn for 20 minutes ( I did the 20-minute express). Not too shabby!

This weekend was soooo Overwhelming... ugh...

Monday, April 11, 2011

This weekend started out at with an appointment for my DH and I to do our taxes. Luckily, we got great news from our tax person. Thanks to some added deductions last year and better investments we faired pretty well.

My DH, son and I went to the beach to walk on Saturday. My son and his girlfriend were having "issues" and he needed to get out. He loves going to the beach and climbing on the rocks. He and my DH did just that and sat and watched the ocean. They need some father/son bonding. I on the other hand walked for awhile just thinking about this weight loss journey I can't seem to put 100% focus on. Its just so freakin' frustrating. I go through this crap every week. Every week.....

Sunday my DH went fishing and my son and I hung out at the house, our usual Sunday routine. Laundry, chores, homework. Only I noticed my son was really down. He and his gf had broken up. He was a mess. So I dropped everything, the hell with it, I could clean during the week and laundry well that can always wait. So I suggested we get out of the house and take a drive. We drove around and talked, then went to see a movie. My son and I are really close and I hate to see my baby upset. (he's 17 but will ALWAYS be my baby).

By Sunday night, he seemed better and things felt like they were back to normal. I probably have more gray hair (God Bless you, Miss Clairol) but we're gonna be ok.

So today is Monday. Here we go again..... breakfast was a total of 350 calories. having a salad for lunch. Planning on making Tilapia and veggies for dinner. I got my Zumba kit in the mail on Friday so I'll be starting that. Also, I need to put on the armband again tonight. God, please help me get through this week without any glitches...

Happy Monday!

What a great Mom you are... Just being there for your son means alot to him. It seems you got in Physical Activity. I didn't see where you screwed up your eating but maybe too much drama.
Anyway, hope your Monday is going alot better for you...

Weekend Regret....

Monday, March 14, 2011

I think I suffer from weekend regret. Every Monday I come in weigh in, then stand on the scale contemplating everything I ate and everything I should have avoided.... ugh... today I weighed in and gained 3 lbs. ....crap.

Goal for the week AND weekend.

1. starting the 5k walk/run.
2. log meals in NT and minutes in FT.
3. NO cheating this weekend.

Why is Monday such a downer for people....

Monday, March 07, 2011

So let me start by saying I had a nice weekend. My DH, Dad, and I went to a Casino on Saturday and ate at a buffet. I unfortunately lost my 90.00 investment but no worries, I had a great time. We had dinner at the buffet and I was proud of my choice to stick as close to the salad bar as possible. I will admit I may have mistaken a cheesecake for a carrot. But overall I wasn't that bad...
We unfortunately were unable to walk as we had planned, I didn't want to take time away from my dad, so we each worked out on our own.

Sunday we went to the lake and hiked for a bit then went home before it started to rain. We watched movies and had a couple glasses of wine. It was definitely a nice weekend.

Which brings me to my original topic - So this morning, we got to a bit of a late start and we made a Starbucks run. (love their oatmeal) We usually only have Starbucks on Fridays and the rest of the week we make breakfast at home, but last night we were up late watching Love and other Drugs. So anyway, this particular Starbucks has a drive thru so its our go-to Starbucks Friday place. We pull up to the drive thru on the wrong side of the drive up area ( which happens frequently due to poor layout) but when this happens its usually a who pulled up first and then the merge is respected. We pull up a few seconds before a woman in a gold SUV and as usual pull up assuming the "I got here merge". Now at this point my son and I are talking and in good spirits. Well this poor woman must have had a crappy weekend and was in dire need of coffee. She starts flashing her lights and me, honking, and yelling obscenities!!! Now I will admit that I like most have a temper every now and then but I was genuinely in a good mood this morning. So I lowered the window and said "really?" to which she replied Bleep Bleep how dare u bleep bleep ur a bleep bleep and U BETTER BACK THE BLEEP UP I SHOULD BE AHEAD OF U." So at this point I could have A/ cussed back and made as much of an ass of myself as she did. or B/ take the high road and ignore. well I started giggling because I realized we were to grown women surrounded by other Starbucks patrons in this heated honk/cuss/meltdown. At that point the line moved and I continued my path to coffeeland and chose to ignore. So she then backed up and sped off.

The moral of the story.....

A/ Respect respect respect. No point in shouting back it will only escalate things.
and most important...
B/ NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, let anyone get in the way of ur coffee. ... really?

I love even more that you didn't let this morning mishap ruin your mood or your Monday for that fact. Good for you for taking the high road. Not just for yourself, but also for your son that you had in the vehicle with you. She must have sped off because she knew how foolish she looked.

So not a bad way to end the week. After coming down with a cold on Tuesday, I decided to call in sick on Wednesday to rest. I didn't work out on Wednesday but the rest totally helped. I continued my spin bike routine on Thursday and I 'm proud that this week I workout out 3 days (so far) 60 minutes each day.

Things I have to improve on. I need to spend sometime on Sparkrecipes this weekend and create a shopping list to try to stick to my 1600 calories. I tend to go over by 200-300 calories. ugh.. everything has a learning process I guess.

Looking forward to Casino night on Saturday with my DH and my dad. Saturday and Sunday my DH have commited to 3 mile walks at the nearby golf course.

Have a great Weekend!
