My day at the gym started at 5 this morning. I jumped on the spinning bike and cranked out 14 miles in 30 minutes. I had sweat pouring off of me as though I was sitting under a sprinkler. Can't do that sort of thing right now, you would be a popcicle in a short time.
After the bike I proceeded to do calf raises with a 25 lb. dumbbell, and then I did hamstring, adductor and abductor machines. I went into the stretching room and did planks, crunches and leg lifts--front, sides, back with ankle weights.
Back to the large gym room where I hopped on the treadmill and race-walked a mile, then I stretched and bundled up and went home to get ready for work.
I am not positive how many calories I spent but I know that I pedaled off 286 calories and race-walked away another 115. No idea how many I burnt doing the weights but I know I was absolutely ravenous when I got home. Usually, I am snackish after a workout but.........I drank 3 glasses or water and three glasses of orange juice before I took a shower and I was still starving.
For giggles, I returned to the gym this afternoon and did a repeat performance. Dinner tonight was interesting. I had a large salad and two pork ribs (baby backs-4in. long). I really was not into meat but I feel like a horse after eating all the salad greeens. I told my son if I woke him up neighing in the middle of the night he could just shoot me. He told me he would rather send me to a race track!
Tomorrow is upper body and core with a little bike and Friday is swimming and a massage. I wish Friday would hurry up. I am VERY sore!
