Hoping and Praying

I have my fingers crossed and trust me, that is no easy feat! My husband has been out of work since the mine closed. A year and a half without a job makes it pretty tough on our bill paying capabilities.....BUT.....He has a job interview this Friday in Kearney Arizona. I am praying he gets the job and can get on with life for a while. I know times are tough all over. He has been steadily trying to get a job, so maybe it is his turn.
I changed my wieghtlifting routine...tried some different exercises. None of the exercises were incredible different from what I usually do but I AM SORE! I feel like I am 90 years old. It did not help that I gave a private swim lesson at 4pm until 5pm. The pool was very cold and I think I might get warm again some day.
My hair is not enjoying all the humidity and swimming!
I am going to try to go take a nice little snooze. More than 3 hours a night would be greatly appreciated at this time. Keep your fingers crossed, and even say a little prayer for hubby and job interview.

Hoping and praying this job works out for your husband. That's a long time to be out of a job but in this economy many have had to face it. But I know it can be so hard on self-esteem as well as financially when unable to find work. Just shaking up the routing can really make muscles scream sometimes. I thought my thighs were in good shape till I rode my bike for half an hour the other day. Going to try to do that more when I get back from vacation. Report Inappropriate Comment

I will say a prayer about your dh's job right now! It sounds like the small changes in your routine will make a big difference. I know it is good to change things around so your body doesn't get too used to something! I'm hoping to get my first "private swim lesson" with my neighbor & friend (and my dd's swim coach) tomorrow... but Hurricane Alex might have other plans. Picture Tale of a Thunder Storm in New Mexico

I love New Mexico and all it offers. I have lived here the majority of my life and I have always loved late June and early July, not for the heat but for the monsoon season and the wonderful thunderheads! The following are pictures taken hourly starting at 11am and ending at 4pm. I took the pictures out the front door of the Hurley Pool office. Enjoy, I did! If you don't like the weather in New Mexico, just wait ten minutes and it will change.

It rained and there was lots of lightening and wind. It settled down and rained at a good rate for about 20 minutes. Cooled off a lot as well...down from 102 to 73. I think it is cold! LOL
The rest of my day was relatively the same. I went to the gym at 5am and ran, rode and lifted core and lower body. At 6:45 I was off to the college for my best ever swim...825 meters in 16 minutes. I realize this is not nearly earth-shattering, but it is for me! Then at 8:30...off to the pool to teach private lessons and guard until 4.
I burned 986 calories at the gym..unknown at the pool. I ingested 2550..so probably close to even for the day.
If anyone has a wetsuit they would like to get rid of....or know of a good place to purchase one, let me know.

It was slow and steady here in Deming from 5p-8p, then we had the most amazingly beautiful rainbow right after it stopped, just after the sun had gone down, but it was still light out. I think I'm going to like Monsoon season a lot more here than in Phoenix. :-) Report Inappropriate Comment

It was such a good rain yesterday and it was heavy in Silver for a little bit. I had to go to Bayard for something and it was raining some on the way over and back, but when I got back to Silver there where huge puddles where in the 45 minutes or so I was gone it had rained a lot harder than it had out in Bayard area. Then in Silver it was off and on for a while lightly after that. Cooled it down so well. It was so nice sleeping last night with the windows open and the smell of the rain. Loved it! My sister and brother in law lived in Bosque Farms and sometimes when we visited we had the pleasure of seeing some of the storms. The one thing I remember most about the area was the umbrella trees which I loved and the frogs at night as they were close to the Rio Grande. Another sister-in-law live there and taught school in one of the mission schools, so we saw alot of New Mexico over the years. She was in Jemez Pueblo, and we got to meet alot of the Indians who lived in Sky city, although we never got to go up there. One man claimed to be 128 years old. A fasinating culture. That storm looks like what we get in Denver all the time...many afternoons during the summer. It's cool to watch them building over the mountains, not so cool when they drop hail. I bought my wetsuit at a local swim shop here so I'm not much help. Online probably isn't the best option because you need to try it on to make sure it fits properly and that you can move like you need to. My bike shop carries them, too...is there a sporting goods or bike or swim shop in your area, or reasonably close? Report Inappropriate Comment

Live, Love, Laugh

These three words can happen in any order, but should be specifically practiced everyday of one's life. We should live like there is no tomorrow, live the way we want to be remembered, live life to its fullest, live what we like to do.
We never know when the last dance will occur.

Love is a complicated word. It leads to great happiness, despair, want, need and more than one broken heart. It is practiced by many, studied and deeply followed by few. Love is often ignored when it is of ourself. Few truly love themselves and this is a shame. You only have one you and you can't really, truly, madly, deeply love another until you love yourself!

Laugh because it makes you feel good, because it releases tension, because it shows you are less than perfect. Laughing is great medicine. There are times to be serious and times for every emotion. Life needs many times to laugh and we are all so busy, I don't think we take enough time to laugh.

Stop and think---Live, Love and Laugh today. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Beautiful Bike Ride

My ride began at 7:30 this morning. The weather was calm, crisp, clean and cool. It rained last night and the pines smelled wonderful.

We started out in front of the Buckhorn in Pinos Altos and rode to Meadow creek. The deer were thick and it made the down hills a little slower than normal. One road bike plus one deer equals one h**ll of a mess!

We really needed the rain and we could use some more. I thank all of my Spark Friends that I have asked, for sending some rain this way..HAHA
Tomorrow is a funeral day and maybe some laundry and a short bike ride. Had to have my shifters adjusted today...so I know the ride will be sweet.
So I will have some time to contemplate after the funeral...I know where there is a great view...peace and solitude. I will recover and if I am lucky and the weather cooperates...I can ride my ride to the view.
