hmmmmm

Friday, August 28, 2009

Ok, so this was my first full week back to work at school. I finished up the Burn phase and didn't see much if any change in my measurements and on the scale...however I feel tighter and stronger. So I am still optimistic and working hard. I have started the Push phase and absolutely love it...I like it a lot more than the burn phase. I also have my neighbor coming over to join me in some Turbo Jam...it feels so good to do TJ again, it is so extremely fun! So I think this month will show great results. I am a bit disappointed but still going strong. I have watched what I am eating and have packed my healthy lunch each day for work, so I'm not sure where the break down is happening.

Even though I'm a tiny bit disappointed with my results I am still enjoying the workouts so much that I have decided to go to the Turbo Kick Instructor training that is being offered here in November. I believe a lot of teachers would love to be able to work out right after school, before having to go pick up their kids from daycare and not having to drive to a gym. So we'll see how it goes. I'm excited about it and anxious for it to happen.

Great Idea! Don't look at the numbers, instead notice a general downward trend. You'll have good weeks and weeks that stall, you can't judge it by that. If you are watching what you eat and turboing, you WILL see results.
YOU CAN DO IT!

I really enjoyed Turbo Jam when I was doing it also... Keep up your efforts. I'm sure they'll pay off, and it will be great if you can get some workout buddies at the school! More incentive and accountability!!!

Oh, that will be awesome for you. We are going to be getting Turbo Kick at our YMCA soon and I'm so jazzed for it. Good luck on that and let me know how it goes. Maybe once I start going to school for my personal trainers certification I'll look into it as well.

Back to school

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Ok, so I have enjoyed my summer and have loved putting my workouts and eating healthy first. However, school starts up next week and I'm back to work and back to tons of papers coming home and lunches to pack, and football practices and games to attend, gymnastics to run to and piano lessons too. I'm scared about finding the time to keep this up. I am feeling stronger, healthier and tighter in some places and know that I am making progress...even though I'm not seeing much on the scale. I'm still doing ChaLEAN Extreme and am in my first phase and I just want this journey to continue. I'm going to do my very best to stay focused and on track. I'm going to miss spending time out here on SP, but what can I say, I've become a bit of an addict with SP and Facebook...ooops :-) Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and motivation and friendships that I have made this summer. Look forward to having you there as I face the hurdles that will come my way this fall. I can say at least I am lucky to be a school teacher and can enjoy my summers and this summer gave me the chance to really get a healthy lifestyle going. I feel very thankful and blessed for all I have. So, here's to Back To School.

I hear ya on the back to school thing. I used to do everything during the summer to stay active but as a student I was going to school, keeping up my homework, and working full time, I didn't feel like I had the time to stay active. Now that I'm older and have had more life experiences I know that everyone has at least 10 minutes here or there to get a quick workout. Have you tried the 10 minute trainer? I have some girlfriends on the beachbody forums that do it because of school and other extracurricular activities and they're still toning up and looking great. Good luck and I hope you get some awesome students! What grade/subject do you teach?

A weekend away

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

Ok, so this weekend I went to visit my mom. We had a GREAT time, but didn't do extremely well on our eating...of course we weren't completely crazy, but we enjoyed!! emoticon However we continued to exercise. We went for an 8 mile bike ride together, golfing, went to the Stuhr Museum, which included tons of walking so all in all it was very good! I felt fine with the weekend, even with splurging a bit on the food, because I know that I am focused and it is not something that is a daily thing, but an occassional thing. I didn't get home until yesterday...which was Monday afternoon around 5:00 pm, even though I was tired from the drive home I still went downstairs and did my CLX Burn Circuit 2, because it was scheduled for that day. I then invited some friends to join me today in WOWY to workout at 9:30 and because of them I got out of bed and downstairs for burn intervals and ab burner! I am feeling very proud of these accomplishments. I am loving the friends and people I have met on this journey and I am happier! I wish everyone could have this feeling in their life!

I'm just about to go do Burn Intervals for the first time. I heard it was more intense than TJ and I'm kind of nervous/excited. ;) I'm a dork... way to go on your fun weekend, sounds like you did great! I have to think that even Chalene indulges from time to time. :)

Great job on scheduling the WOWY workout and sticking to it. That's what I need to work on is sticking to it. Maybe we can try the working out in WOWY again sometime soon!

A Good Day!

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Today I just woke up very excited about Life in General! Feling more confident in myself, enjoying the things that I have. When you take time for yourself to make yourself healthy, you also become so much happier and so much better for those around you! I used to not workout because there was not enough time, I needed to be with my children and helping them with school, or activities, dinner, laundry, cleaning etc., what I have found out is I get more done and am available more for my children now that I workout and take that hour or hour and a half for me! I wish everyone could share this feeling! Your mind seems to become clearer and you are more present to those around you not to mention my relationship with God. I believe this is because things are clearer and I'm not bogged down with all those little things we have happening around us. Priorities become clear and simple.
This is sounding so mushy mushy, but I had to write it down as the feeling was just very presnet today.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this subject. I have that same guilt you talk about in your blog that makes me not work out becasue I feel lilke I have to many other responsibilities from work, to caring for my children, to spending time with my husband. I have tried to get up early in the morning to walk before they are awake but I already have to get up at 5:15 each day just to get to daycare and work on time......unfortunately....I just get up and re-set my alarm every time I try to work out in the am. Glad to hear your making time for your workouts has helped so much. You are an inspiration and hopefully I will be sharing your feelings of having more time and quality time soon! keep up the great work!!

Wow! Day 3

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Ok, so CE arrived on Friday and I had already done my turbo jam workouts so decided to start CE on Saturday. Even talked my hubby into trying it with me :-) (a little light hearted competition is always good for the marriage. lol) Anyway we made it through burn circuit 1 together on Saturday, had rest day on Sunday, yesterday I did burn circuit 2 on my onw while hubby was at work...he then did it in the evening. Today was burn intervals and extreme abs...OMG what a workout. I feel GREAT...now that it's over, but it was so intense and tough you have to really have your mind set to get through these workouts! My mind is set and I just keep thinking of the results I will see in the end! So for now, we made it through another day and pushed play! Yeah ME!
