For the record, I'm now 146.82 lbs.
Hi All! :)
I've been MIA from SP for a long time now, but I take that to be a good thing, coz I was becoming an SP and FB addict, pretty much a couch potato rather than a transformed more active lass! :)
Since about June of this year, I've been having a tough time with my weight, despite continued efforts. I've always had my regular travelling, but my weight WAS coming off despite it. June onwards my weight plateaued... though my measurements kept shrinking till early August. Late August onwards I wasnt even loosing inches. I decided to change things around. Started a new diet plan and started a workout which was nice and hardcore - avg heart rate per workout was 70-73% of my max heart rate (220 minus your age)
Come october, I had started shedding a wee bit - like maybe an lb or two, but it would go down one day and be up the other. I felt like my efforts were all in vain. I DID start eating in controlled portions all things that I had been missing for the last 8-9 months. I had beer evenings, pizzas, fried foods, and other stuff, but in minimal quantities. I knew I had to somehow give in a little coz I was feeling like I was at rock bottom with the "I dont get to eat anything and my weight doesnt go down either" syndrome.
After a few weeks of slowly (one meal every 3 days) eating the stuff I missed, I felt more ready to start trying harder again. As luck would have it, I needed to be off travelling to an entirely new town, for a friends pre wedding function. I ate out on the 7th of October and fell severely ill. Food poisoning and diarrhea and dehydration. It was super ugly. In a 36 hrs period, I had thrown up 5 times and had made 20 visits to the bathroom because of loose motions. Couldnt eat a thing, was throwing up water and medicines, so wasnt getting any better either. I fell in the bathroom (on 9th oct at 2am) coz I had no energy and I couldnt get up, I had a bleeding cut above my eyebrow because of my fall. Next morning I was rushed to hospital and was on a drip from 9am to 7pm.
But the end result is that I'm now, after months and months of waiting, finally 146.8 lbs after being around 151-153 for wayyyyy too long. There were rare days when I would hit a 149, but the next day I was back upto 150 or 151 or 152... And though I thought that as I start eating normally, my weight will come back and stabilise at its favourite 150-153 range, but NO, its been about a fortnight now, and Im still at this lower weight, despite eating portion controlled (with which I now feel completely satisfied and full) meals as well as portion controlled sweets (sometimes a healthy sweet bite and other times its tea cake or ice cream in mini quantities) with most meals.
As for my MARRIAGE!! A lot of you know Im getting married next year in Feb (only 110 days left now)!! So the updates are:
Im trying to figure out how to get things started now - my family is very laid-back!! We have a very relaxed attitude about it all - "It'll all get done!" But sometimes I feel I'd rather not have things done last moment in a chaotic manner! :P
The weather is now amazing here in North India. Not too hot nor too cold - there's a nip in the air in the evenings and its perfect weather to shop. I've been trying to find a good tailor for my wedding clothes! But not found the right one as yet!!! I tried one tailor who was an absolute disaster! Hehehe! I still dont know what I will wear for my pre wedding functions! The wedding day clothes just need stitching, the embroidered and sequinned cloth has been bought! Deep red and goldy bronze it is! :)
I've got details of a few Mehandi artists... its the Indian henna tattoo thingy that you all may have heard of (theres always google for refference)... We also spoke with a friend to design a different kinda wedding card for us, since my fiance and I are both motorcyclists, we want biking and marriage to be the focal theme of the card. Biking made us meet! :)
I feel like this is the lull before the storm now! Im soon gonna be out everyday picking up things and arranging stuff, trying out clothes, buying gifts, accessories, meeting decorators, other things too that I cant even think of! :)
My weight loss journey has been admittedly very slow (less than 1lb per week), but I do breathe the sigh of relief, because I KNOW that in 4 months, I didnt loose but I did maintain, and maintaining is very DO-ABLE. You dont need to be super virtuously good for it!! Smiles! I HAVE eaten the things I wanted to eat. I DO have sugar everyday, I do eat rice and meats and eggs and some cheese. And I CERTAINLY HAVE turned a leaf. Now when I indulge myself, its a tiny portion, not an overloaded plate followed by second helpings. I have a new tiny bowl (which was technically made for serving dips and sauces with snacks) that I use for meals, not a standard larger one like everyone else at home. And its enough to make me full! :)
Its festive season here in India - Diwali is around the corner - a festival celebrating the victory of good over evil - of Lord Ram over Ravana. People deck up their homes and go visiting friends and family and distributing gifts to them. There's good food and drinks etc. People buy new clothes, throw card parties, make rangolis (google images) in their houses and light up diyas or candles or electric lights to decorate the house. Luckily or unluckily, our home isnt buzzing with festive activity! No guests, no fried foods and no drinking yet. Its usually a 10 day period of gala times! But Im sure in the days to come, we're gonna have friends over and merry making with all its excesses shall follow. I pray it shall be fun and not too damaging on the weight loss journey! :)
I have changed my habbits and thats the most awesome thing! :)
Wish you all a lovely weekend and week ahead! And a Hapy Diwali too!
