I came home from working as a substitute teacher, prepared supper, went to church to teach the Bible study on 1 John, and then I came home, never dreaming that my life would change so completely, that in a matter of hours, I would feel my world had stopped.
In my daughter's words, here's her Facebook post:
One year ago today my life was changed drastically
One year ago today I was left for dead by someone I considered a friend
One year ago today I fought the hardest fight of my life
One year ago today I was willing to sacrifice everything for the life of my daughter
One year ago from right now I thought my life was perfect
One year ago from right now I only saw a bright future
One year ago today I became a survivor
One year ago today at 7:11 PM I was brutally attacked in my own home while I was 39 weeks pregnant I was stabbed I was beaten and I almost died
One year ago today I was left blind in one eye
One year ago today I was left paralyzed
One year ago today my faith in humanity was destroyed
One year ago today I survived all of this
Today I am still blind in my left eye
Today I still cannot walk unassisted
Today I still have debilitating headaches
Today I still have nightmares
Today I still know that even when earned trust isn't always real
One year ago today I heard the EMT say I don't think we can save this one
Today I am still alive
She is regaining use of her upper body and is in physical therapy.
Again, thanks to everyone for your prayer support.
