my weird motivation

Thursday, April 25, 2013

I have found the weirdest things can motivate me. I hung 20 paperclip chain above my desk the first of the year along with 3 red ones that I had to put on the chain if I gained. It is a visual I see every day and I am down to 8 paperclips now - just 8 more pounds to reach my first goal for the year - I will be weighing below 200 pounds for the first time in over 20 years. My next goal will be to get below 180 pounds the lightest I have been in 34 years. Small steps work better for me.

That's a great idea. I use a pedometer for the same reason. I get hooked on seeing how many steps I can take in a day. Anything that keeps you motivated is a good thing. Congratulations on being so close to your goal! Yeah for you. emoticon

Good job. Keep up the good work. The idea of the paper clips is a good one. Visualizing your goal everyday keeps you motivated as well as on track

Need regular exercise program

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

I am getting my menus fairly well now and learning how to use the tracker more. I am happy to say that my blood pressure is down and so is my sugar. Now I have to get to work on getting regular with my exercise.

That is all good! The numbers you really have to control are coming down. There was a Question of the Day today about what people think they need the most when it comes to exercise, and most of the people who answered said it was consistency. So you have a lot of company!

SRD

Sunday, April 07, 2013

SRD or state recognition days for TOPS was this weekend and I spent all day Friday and Saturday keeping a written food journal. I tried to keep it accurate and if I did I wasn't over my calorie allowance by much one day and in it the other. It feels good to be able to attend a function like this and do alright with my eating.

My MIL was a TOPS member for a long time, until she became a KOPS. She loved it and was always at the meetings and participated in the events. She kept her weight at 130 after losing quite a lot. She passed away a couple years ago at age 90. When I saw the TOPS mention, I had to comment.

Happy Weight

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Today's "happy weight" video made a lot of since to me - I am happier as I can move better, I still can't get down in the floor, but can do more than I could when I started. So I think I will think of a happy weight instead of where I want to be sooner or later. Each pound off makes a new happy weight!!!

Yes! Pound by pound, slowly but surely, and you'll feel better and better! Good for you!

Better Monday weigh-in

Monday, February 18, 2013

Well tonight was a turtle at weigh-in(no loss, no gain) as my weight was really up I didn't weigh-in at TOPS last Monday, so my weight is back down - now just to get moving off of this darn plateau I am stuck on right now. We had an award night tonight - we now have 5 ladies who have meet their goal and one that is only 4 pounds from her goal. They are an inspiration to me.

Everyone have a good week

My MIL was a TOPS, and then a KOPS for about 30 years. She was very short, petite and looked so good. The people I know now go out for pizza after their TOPS meeting. They just laugh about it! I wonder why they bother! Keep it up. TOPS/KOPS is a great organization.
