This was a Christmas pressie from Bryony and Rob. Bry bought this picture frame and put photos in it from my Birthday trip to Constable Country back in November:

I finally have pics of all of us on my wall. I have loads in the computer and in drawers, but only one on the wall, and none of Rob, so this was a really thoughtful gift. :-)

Our Boxing Day jaunt into town had us avoiding the new lake that is no longer confined just to the cricket pitch:

It is the New Year's Day, and there really is a Sun!!!
How lovely to start 2013 with blue sky and sunshine and a lone fluffy cumulus cloud. :-)
I hope that has put a smile of a few hungover faces today.

...I can buy your DVDs in Region 2 and 0!
So I ordered this one from Play.com:
I got this one for the belt as much as the DVD. She is readily available on You Tube, and all her Exercise TV videos are there now, which is wonderful! However, that belt makes her videos even more exercisalicious, and it helps with core and upper body work, something I tend to be short of. So I figured it would be a good one to start with. :-)
Very excited! I hope it doesn't take too long to get here.
I got my exercise in today by doing Leslie's Exercise TV 2 mile walk. Awe. Some! May dance later. After all, it is New Year's Eve, and we usually bop about during Jules Holland's Hootenanny. Some good names on there tonight, incliding Adam Ant, Paloma Faith, Petula Clark and Ruby Turner. :-)
Am wondering whether I'll have enough ooomph tomorrow to try out Leslie's Exercise TV Three Mile Walk. I'm determined to try, even if I have to break it into two chunks to complete it. That video must have been added just before Exercise TV bit the dust because I haven't seen it before.
So, here's to the New Year...

Yeah, my streak kind of ground to a halt after 12 days. Combination of pneumonia recovery, sinusitis, and too much running around to do in the run up to Christmas meant I couldn't abide by the Streak Rules, so I decided to try for another streak after the Christmas festivities.
And that is TODAY!!!
We had a very pleasant Christmas. Rob and Bry came and stayed from Christmas Eve until the 27th, and my only Christmas Wish was answered - I wished for someone else to cook the Christmas dinner and we got an invite to friends on Christmas Day! Their daughter, Alice, cooked the meal, with a little help from Bry and Rob. You see, Alice's mum broke her hip a few weeks ago, and I was still a tad delicate from the pneumonia, so while the kids slaved away over a hot stove she and I and Alice's Dad sat and chatted while sipping champagne and nibbling on Doritos and Pringles. The height of sophistication, I'm sure you'll agree. :-)
It was a lovely meal, even if Alice rather over-calculated on quantities. Made for a lot of tasty leftovers, which we are just finishing. The main joy of the leftovers was that they were mostly vegetables! Let's see, she cooked roast beef, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings with...
Roast potatoes in their skins, parsnips, carrots, sweet potato, red cabbage with raisins and apple, sprouts, beetroot, cauliflower cheese, onions, peas and broccoli. With apologies if I forgot any of the vegetables that were nommed.
What an incredible feast it was. And it was rounded off, once we had let the main meal settle a little, with homemade Christmas Pudding or Lemon Meringue with cream or custard.
Beautiful! All we had room for when we got home was a cup of tea!
Boxing Day was great too. I treated the kids to cinema tickets to see The Hobbit, and while they were doing that I went round the shops for an hour or so, scoring 6 brand new pillows for £30 instead of £70, before coming home and preparing venison casserole in the slow cooker. The pillows were a great bargain, even greater because I needed them! I've had most of our pillows since Bry was a baby!
Oh, they are soooo comfy! Tara and I are struggling to get up in the morning, they are so snuggly and soft! :-)
The casserole was delicious! :-)
I only gained a couple of pounds since I caught pneumonia, even with Christmas in the mix, which pleases me enormously. :-)
So here we are almost at the end of 2012. That is a surprise. Hands up all of us who said we didn't believe the end of the world was coming on the 21st, yet had a sneaky corner of their mind saying, “What if...”
So, why wait until the 1st Jan for a new streak and a resolution? This is the week of the New Year, so I started my new streak today with a 20 minute walk with Leslie Sansone. Her Exercise TV walks are available on You Tube at long last, so I did the One Mile Walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then after breakfast I danced to eight Just Dance songs. It is so good to feel well enough to do that much exercise in one day again. I was breathing hard by the end of the walk, which was awesome, and was the same by the end of the Just Dance stuff as well. Yay!!!
I've also completely reset my sparkstreaks so I am spinning the wheel, and counting my days of fitness, water drinking and eating my freggies from scratch as of today. I even reset my Active Health game so I am starting the Land's End to John O'Groats walk again.
So, how is everyone else's plans for New Year coming along?
