Wow! That was !!!
My Leslie Sansone Walk Away Your Waistline with Walk Belt arrived this morning, setting the seal on what I would do for exercise today.
I did plan just to do one of the miles, but was so into it by then I didn't want to stop. I ended up doing the full three miles, and LOVED it!
I was surprised to find that as soon as I put the belt on I automatically straightened up. I know I can be a bit of a sloucher sometimes, so that is really helpful.
I was then surprised that we didn't seem to use the belt much at first, and even when we did it was for barely a minute before we tucked the handles back into the belt again. And that was how it went right through the DVD - short bursts with the belt and the rest of the time as normal.
Have to say, though, that I certainly knew I'd used it by the end of the three miles. Wowser!
Things I love about Leslie Sansone Walks:
You can try her out for free online first, with three different walks available on her web page:
Not to mention that a search for Leslie Sansone on You Tube yields all her Exercise TV videos, plus extra ones posted by other Leslie Lovees. :-)
She sweats! Sorry, ladies... She glows!
I like to see that she is putting in a good effort on my behalf! And she is proud of her sweat! She calls us 'Sisters in Sweat'. I like the sound of that. :-)
She uses real people on her DVDs. Real people of all sizes and shapes and fitness levels. Gives you confidence that her workouts are aimed at all of us, regardless of ability.
Her videos are well filmed, but not slick. They are real. She jokes with the other people on the videos, and she gets distracted with her counting sometimes, but the camera just keeps rolling. "So what," she says, "if you go right or I go left. We aren't learning dance steps. We're just walking to the beat of the music."
But it isn't 'just' walking.
It is a lot more than just a walk! Walking just takes you in one direction .. forward. Unless you are a Pushme-Pullyu!
Leslie takes you forwards, backwards and sideways. She also has you doing tap outs and lunges, knee-ups and kicks, arms swinging and reaching. You get little stand up crunches and if you use the belt, or the stretch band. or even a couple of light weights you add an element of strength training to the walk as well.
So it is actually a LOT more than just a walk.
I plan to have a regular Leslie fest as part of my exercise routine - aiming for a three Miler twice a week if I can, with some shorter walks thrown in at other times.
Streakwise, doing quite well.
Spin the wheel - 5/5 days
Exercise at least ten minutes - 5/5 days
Drink 8 glasses of water - 4/4 days (and well on course today so far)
Eat 5 freggies - 3/4 days (yesterday had a diverticular blip that meant I couldn't eat my evening meal as planned, but I got 3 freggies in earlier in the day)
Enjoy your day!

This was a Christmas pressie from Bryony and Rob. Bry bought this picture frame and put photos in it from my Birthday trip to Constable Country back in November:
Photos within photos...
I finally have pics of all of us on my wall. I have loads in the computer and in drawers, but only one on the wall, and none of Rob, so this was a really thoughtful gift. :-)
Tara, Me and Rob:
Willy Lott's House - an iconic picture:
Bry, Tara and Myself outside the Mill that is now a study centre. Constable stood about here when he sketched out his famous Haywain picture, though he was looking in a different direction than us, obviously. LOL
Our Boxing Day jaunt into town had us avoiding the new lake that is no longer confined just to the cricket pitch:
That area seems to get more flooded every year!
But soft, what light beyond the window breaks...
It is the New Year's Day, and there really is a Sun!!!
How lovely to start 2013 with blue sky and sunshine and a lone fluffy cumulus cloud. :-)
I hope that has put a smile of a few hungover faces today.
New Year's Eve - Streak Day 2
Four out of Four again:
Spun the Sparkwheel
Got at least ten mins of exercise (30)
Drank at least 8 glasses of water (10)
Got at least 5 freggies in (5)
So far, so good! :-)
Enjoy the first day of 2013!

...I can buy your DVDs in Region 2 and 0!
So I ordered this one from Play.com:
I got this one for the belt as much as the DVD. She is readily available on You Tube, and all her Exercise TV videos are there now, which is wonderful! However, that belt makes her videos even more exercisalicious, and it helps with core and upper body work, something I tend to be short of. So I figured it would be a good one to start with. :-)
Very excited! I hope it doesn't take too long to get here.
I got my exercise in today by doing Leslie's Exercise TV 2 mile walk. Awe. Some! May dance later. After all, it is New Year's Eve, and we usually bop about during Jules Holland's Hootenanny. Some good names on there tonight, incliding Adam Ant, Paloma Faith, Petula Clark and Ruby Turner. :-)
Am wondering whether I'll have enough ooomph tomorrow to try out Leslie's Exercise TV Three Mile Walk. I'm determined to try, even if I have to break it into two chunks to complete it. That video must have been added just before Exercise TV bit the dust because I haven't seen it before.
So, here's to the New Year...
Let's make it a healthy one!
P.S. Yesterday was Streak Day 1
Four out of Four!
Spun the sparkwheel
Got at least 10 mins of exercise (47 mins)
Drank at least 8 glasses water (9)
Ate at least five portions of freggies! (5)
