Walking plan warm up, Day 10 etc

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

10 minute walk

Active Health stats:
Pace - 21 min mile
Calories - 47
Steps - 1165
Time - 11.06

Bootcamp Day 7 - and how fit do you think I am? That was IMPOSSIBLE! I did the bits I could, and totally fudged the rest. I don't even know if I can claim the week completed. I am going to have to seriously tweak that exercise selection for the remaining three weeks to stand any chance of completing this challenge.

I am a total beginner when it comes to strength exercise of any kind, and I am rather uncomfortable on the floor. Two and a half of the seven days is spent on the floor. Days 5 and 7 are completely on the floor. I'm beginning to think that the Bootcamp is for more advanced people or at least for people with less health issues than I have. I will have to seriously think about whether I can continue with this or whether I should work up to it doing other exercises first.

Disappointed me. :-(

EDIT: Well, I went back to the teampages and found the response to my email when I said I probably wouldn't be able to everything in the videos and Coach Denise said as long as I did my best it would count. Well, I DID MY BEST! So I have clicked that I have completed week one.
YAY! Feel a bit better now, but I still have a long way to go.

Still to do:
Trampoline
EDIT: Did twenty mins trampoline, plus 10 mins extra for a team challenge.

Sparkling Knitters Team

Monday, July 19, 2010

Can you knit or crochet with your eyes shut? Just one challenge to try for fun with Sparkling Knitters!

I am enjoying being on a new team that has only just started. It is fun being involved from the outset and seeing it build up and meeting the very enthusiastic new members. I think I was number five to join, and only a few days later we are up to 13. You don't have to be able to knit to join. You could come as a crocheter, a sewer, whatever rocks your creative boat really. Why not swing by for a looksee, and if you decide to join the gang, tell them Lexie sent you!

You certainly have it right about Sparkling Knitters being for all who enjoy a craft of any kind. I think I was number 3 to join and its amazed me too the way the team has grown. I think its great that we are amongst the first few members because it gives us the chance to get to know each new member one at a time. I love your llama photo caption, gave me a real giggle. And those cats in the bathroom basin, well, the comments mirror my own elderly cat's way of acting toward me, cos after all our friendship does have its limits, lol.
Happy Sparking and carry on crafting!

Wow! Thanks for inviting crocheters and knitters and crafters to our team! I can knit with my eyes closed but I'll have to work on the crocheting with my eyes closed! I'll give it a try next chance I get! Our team is tons of fun! Thanks for coming along Lexie!

Llama Photo Caption Competition Winners

Monday, July 19, 2010

The overall winner, for making me laugh out loud was
THIAGRAM for her caption:
You are going to do WHAT with my wool?

Loved it! :-)

The runners up are everyone else, because you all made me smile, and you will all be receiving a little goodie for taking part and brightening my day.

I also decided that there would be a special prize, and this goes to:

BOVEY63 for the really cute story she told me about her kiddy that had me in fits of giggles. One day I'll tell you the story of what my older daughter did that made me laugh hysterically. ;-)

Have a great week everyone!

Trampolining is fun to 5678

Sunday, July 18, 2010

I love my mini trampoline! It is my most used piece of exercise equipment. Sometimes I'll jog on it while watching a show on TV and sometimes, like this morning, I'll open up my computer playlists to the Trampoline collection, hit 'random' and jog and dance away to whatever gets played. Today's mix included Queen - Under Pressure, and Snow Patrol - Eyes Open.

The first song it played this morning was 5678 by Steps, and I LOVE this song. Even when the Trampoline is put away I still dance around the sitting room to this one, doing the few line dance moves I know, or trying to remember the moves Steps did on their video:

Go on, give it a go or three. Enjoy! Like I keep saying, no one's looking and it all adds to the step count for the day!

I so resonate with the mini-tramp exercising! It's my favorite too! I'm on my second one (previous weight loss 4 years ago) and find with my lower back issues it's the best way for me to get an intensive cardio. I love to use the balance ball to go with my workout for core strength building too! Happy Bouncing, dancing, jogging! emoticon
