The sickness is over!!!!

Okay NO workout minutes last week at all!!! that is all about to change because the sickness is over and I'm feeling sparky.

The day I said I'd get some done.. that evening the sickness came back! It was just awful. Then Friday my husband was sick terrible. Saturday was a very Christmasy day. My daughter and I spent lots of time making ornaments! So all of my spare time was spent there and we were off to a holiday party where we shared our joy. Today, well I grocery shopped and made my vegetable soup. It is delicious and it will help me get back on track!

I think my one friend was right about the water weight gain. I do believe the wasabi almonds were full of sodium, so I'm looking forward to that coming off this next week.

I'd like some suggestions about putting my workouts back on the top of my to do list. It seems to be slipping off again. Please feel free to share any sparky wisdom.

Saturday I made ornaments, today I grocery shopped.. I'm sure I can do better.

    Yeah for improved health! Your weekend sounds busy; but, gratifying and family filled!

I have no sparkly wisdom on getting workouts to be a priority...that is my struggle too. I did decide to workout every day in December. I'm not going to say I failed; but, I didn't get it in yesterday. I had over 12,000 step by 3:00 from running Sunday School in the morning and the Kids Free Shopping Day for parents at our church. After being responsible for 19 kids (I had 2 adults & a teen helping) to feed them, do a messy craft (handprint trees on ceramic plates), plus movies, snacks and a huge clean-up, I was too exhausted to exercise. I only feel slightly guilty. I will make up those minutes this week.

Keep pushing, eventually we will find a pan of action that works for us! Have a great week!

After the holiday

Okay so I'm in the aftermath of the holiday. I did not do too poorly. I ran 4 miles Thursday morning then I ran 6 Saturday morning. I was pretty happy with myself. Then we drove home from my mom's.. 7 hours. I've been sick ever since and LAZY! My wonderful husband bought me some wasabi almonds on the way home, a whole 1 pound bag! I love almonds, and the wasabi stuff makes them addictive and irresistible. I think I've gained 3 pounds in almonds. Is it possible to over indulge a few ounces of almonds and gain 3 pounds? I probably didn't eat so great over the holiday, but I'd think I had ran it off. Well whatever the problem it is time to get back on track.

I've sworn off my coffee with creamer for the week, until I can get things under control, and since I have not finished the almonds, but they are going to have to move to the back top shelf in the pantry for now.

This morning I had oatmeal and probably chicken noodle soup for lunch. My throat is still sore. There may be some exercise in my future today as well. I want to see 750 exercise minutes for the month. I know I won't do 1000 but I think I can do 750.. we'll see.

Blogging keeps me accountable because I have to come back tomorrow and tell you how I did. Thanks for being here.

1. Terrific family and extended family. (I actually have had some blessings with the extended family over the last few days).

    My youngest and I LOVE wasabi almonds. Have you tried wasabi peas? They make delicious croutons for salads! I wonder if the gain is water from too much sodium? I am sure you will even out in the next few days.

    Yes blogging does keep one accountable. That is why I do it plus I like to brighten up other people's days! Running 6 miles. Wow! That is awesome! Sorry to hear you are sick. You must have what we have been having. I am just now getting over it myself. Take care & do not overdo it!

Well Happy Monday Y'all! Its going to be a good day! My daughter has scouts tonight, but I don't have to go. I just have to drop and pickup. whew! Yaaa!

I am going to do 3 miles today and Abs. I have to get back to tracking my food. I did that 7 miles on Friday and then I self destructed. I ate lots and lots and lots of good for me things, but too many according to my scale. Today begins a new week, right now begins a a new moment.

So a few things left on that very long to do list. Sewing pile really took a beating on Saturday after work but I lost yesterday to grocery shopping. Oh well, it is done now and I have good food in the house (-: I got the old zipper out of my husbands jacket and the new one is pinned in, now I just have to do it. It will happen today.

After that I just have to fill out the HRA paperwork to get reimbursed for some health care things and tada! I think I can take care of all of that today after I finish my work.

A friend encouraged me to get more organized and I have a large wall in my office that I've been wanting to do a big calendar on for a long time, so this next week, I'm going to hang up some poster boards covered with clear contact paper to make them very light dry erase boards and I'm going to make some visual lists on them for me and the kids. I also purchased the 2013 desk calendar so it is big to hang up there too!

one of my friends writes her blessings at the bottom of her blogs and I really like that, especially since it is thankfulness week.

Well I am SUPER glad it is Friday! We don't get too many down days.. and today is 1!!!!! My daughter is under the weather and she has been most of the week, but today I let her stay home. We are not going anywhere today after school. Tomorrow my son has a cub scout thing and friends are coming over, but I don't have to go anywhere! Sunday Church! for the first time in 2 weeks. We had off last week for the 5k and the week before my husband and I were helping to clean up a hall after a family wedding.. so boy oh boy do I need to reconnect with my Lord!

I'm just excited I may get a few things off this long to do list this weekend. I'm taking a short break from work to write this, but after work I'm getting right on the treadmill and after that.. who knows?! the whole house is my oyster!

Feeling more collected

I know that a thankful heart is a happy heart and I should practice that a little more often. Thank you for sharing that you get overwhelmed too.. and thank you for any prayers that were said on my behalf. About midway through the day I was met with a blessing!!! woo who! God took a few things off my plate, things that weren't even on this short list I wrote for my blog. HUGE weight lifted! Praise the Lord.

I got home about 30 minutes later than I had planned last night from visiting Grandpa. He was in good spirits. He can't wait to get his prosthetic leg so that he doesn't need people to help him do every little thing. He was pretty excited about it. He also gets to come home Friday for a day. He is excited about that too. Not sure how that works, but I heard he's getting Thanksgiving weekend too. I wonder if that is to help prepare the household? duno.

Anyway, on the drive home I thought I need to finish up a few things tonight. I know I've been working on getting all of my sleep in, but at the same time, I could knock a few things off my plate. I did not get my 3 miles in ...last night... but this morning!!! very exciting!!!! I did it!!! I got on my treadmill and I managed to get in some mileage. Not quite 3 before I had to get up the children, but I'm excited!

I'm feeling very, very blessed this morning and a lot more focused.
