Terrific Thursday!

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Well Tuesday I did do 3 miles. Last night I didn't want to but I DID do a very old old old tummy video I have from Denise Austin 1980 something. I love that one, which is why I still have it. I found it on ebay some time ago. I just love Denise Austin. I need to do 3 miles again today! I am looking forward to it! I'm Back! I feel back! I'm eating my fruits and veggies.. I've not time to track it feels like, but I've been writing things down on a piece of paper, so better than nothing. I'll get in here and tabulate everything tomorrow when I have not as much to do. I have scrap papers for all week. I've been getting on the scale, I'm almost where I want to be. The week should shake out as I'm back in my exercise routine.

Thank you spark friends for your great ideas about my treadmill. I ran outside on Tuesday. I do love to be outside. I'm working on talking my husband into rearranging some things so I can get my treadmill in a better place, so I'm not so bored on it. I love to walk on it and read magazines.. just don't so much love running on it. I'm sure I'll get there from here.

I appreciate all the positive comments.

Thank you to whoever said Chili was not so bad. (-: I know it would be better if we would have made it with chicken.. but my husband got his way and put the pork in it. I think I'm going to try that 3 bean chili recipe that was on spark people earlier in the week. I don't like to throw away food and the chili was on its way out.. and I needed to eat lunch.. so.... it probably was not as bad as I think. (-:

Have a Terrific Thursday!!!

Yeah you! Glad your spark is back!

I love chili made with ground chicken. Last time I made it with ground chicken and strips of beef (for the meat loving hubby). I think it would be delish with some ground pork. Chili really isn't that bad, lots of protein and vitamins.

Have a great day!

dear diary

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

This is more like a diary than a blog right? I had some chili just now for lunch and feeling like I ate too much. )-:

I will run 3 miles later today. I'm shooting for my treadmill. so many things to do, so little time to do it. I'd like to run in addition to what I run at school with my girls, since that seems so broken up from the rest of the day, but I'll take what I can get. I want to fall in love with my treadmill again. Any suggestions?!

You could name it...then you could have workouts with _____. A SparkFriend and I did that with ours. Mine is named Jillian. emoticon Also, when I used to do running on the treadmill, to keep my mind going, I would do Affirmations...A to Z. For each letter of the alphabet, I would make a positive affirmation...such as, for A, "I am athletic." And I would repeat that affirmation to myself several times and then move on to the next letter of the alphabet. It really is a good mind exercise while your body exercises. Good luck! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

I like to use a treadmill and stationary bike in front of the tv, so when I am watching something on tv, it makes the exercising just fly by!

I think chili is a good thing to eat on a diet provided you don't load it with extra cheese, sour cream or crackers. I think it's great that you run 3 miles. No advice on how to fall in love with weightloss equipment--I'm certainly not in love with a bit of mine.

Went hiking today

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Well I was planning on 5 miles today but hiking with the cubscouts was 2, and I ran a mile before church on the treadmill. We had to drive 45 min to the park and home, so I'm going to be happy today with my hike. Only so many hours in my day and it felt good. Yesterday I went grocery shopping and I bought lots of fruits and vegetables... so I feel like I'm making progress in a positive direction! I don't know why its taking so long to swing back into things after vacation, but I'm determined this week is MY WEEK! I'm going to take charge of things. I feel like we are finally in order.

I'm going to keep thinking positive!

Fit (not Flabby) Saturday

Saturday, October 13, 2012

Okay! That's IT!!!! Today after work.. I have no kid extra curricular activities. They are swamping me. I'm so in the weeds. I feel like I've gained 5 pounds. I know I didn't.. but I feel like it! I'm having my monthly too! yaaa me! I've been so not moving all week and I'm totally disappointed with myself.

I did this last year after the half and I paid for it. It took me until late spring to get back into things. Not this year. NOt again.

Now I'm not in love with my treadmill, but my friend who runs long distances often runs 10 miles on her treadmill. I ran 6 one day on there due to storm outside and I though my legs were going to fall off. I really prefer to run out side but we live in north.. practically Canada here.... so I must fall in love with my treadmill. Not to mention that running helps me in so many other ways. For example, I'm a typist by trade. Sitting here all day used to make my shoulder hurt. I was about to go see a doctor and get an injection or something... I was seeing a massage therapist every few months, that's all I could afford or I would have gone more often.. but wait then I started running regularly and the shoulder pain went away. Now I notice in times of laziness that it starts to bug me.. but once I start moving it goes away. Isn't that great!

I'm open to advice. I'd like to diversify a little here. I want to fall in love with my treadmill again, and do some videos for some strength training, or something different. My house is small, so I have no where to put a huge weight being or a bowflex. I'm lucky I have my treadmill. I haven't bought a stability ball because I have no idea where it would go??? I have some 2 pound weights and some 5 pound weights. Any good videos? Any thoughts???

I love Spark People for keeping me motivated. It truly helps just to put all this in here and say what is going through my head.

Thank you Spark Friends!

I just bought some exercise bands. I got a set of three with handles and a little mesh carrying bag for $15 at WalMart. There are some great spark videos with band exercises. Maybe that would be a good option for you?

I don't know about kid's extracurricular activities - not on that circuit - but if there's downtime, maybe you could use that to get some movement in, too!

Tastefully Simple

Friday, October 12, 2012

Seriously! As if I needed one more thing to do yesterday a good friend is having her first showing.. she's having a Tastefully Simple open house. Now I gotta eat and I don't want my friend to be upset.. but how much crackers, bread, mayo and sour cream can I eat. I feel so bad for all the samplings.. I got ONE vegetable yesterday. Yesterday was such a hodge podge of everything. I had to go into the school for 3 hours, I coached in the afternoon.. came home fixed something for the kids, and off to this party. Oh I forgot I ate a sweet potato, TWO veggies! yaaa.. feeling better about that choice (-: I got about a mile and a half in with the girls. Myself and another coach take turns running with the girls, but that's all the fitness I had time for. I must keep pushing. Today.... treadmill after work tonight. its a date! Oh, and I defrosted some souper soup so! that will help make up my veggie deficit. On a good note, I think I'm still within calorie range.. now my fat is WAY high, but it could be worse.

NO the butter on my sweet potato put me over. )-: Track better today!

If you ate a whole sweet potato, that was most likely two servings. Typically a serving is 80 g (2.8 oz). The link below shows a typical serving for many foods.

veg/

Sometimes, you just need a little butter. emoticon

And, supporting your friend was well worth the extra calories.

Enjoy your weekend!
