Only 28 days till my 1/2 marathon!!!!!!!! Okay breathe just breathe.. I do 10 miles today.. I did 10 miles 2 weeks ago so this is a breeze today right? I'm a tad anxious. AGGGG Only 28 days! I'll be ready.. I'm prepared... I've trained... Oh I'm anxious.. And I did a 1/2 marathon last year.. I know I can do it... I just have to keep the positive self talk.

Oh, and don't over eat today and ruin my 10 miles. emoticon

    You will do fine!!! I heard that on race day, you can do twice what you train for. I don't know if I believe that; but, I do believe you can go farther than you train for. The farthest I ran before my 10k was 5k. During the race I ran 4+ miles before I walked and ended up running most of the race after that. You will rock out your half! I am so impressed...I hope to do a half next year!

Lost a pound!!!!!

emoticon YAAA all the tracking.. all the streaking! I finally lost a pound! Well honestly I probably lost more than that, because I went up first. NOW I'm back where I was AND down a pound! I'm so happy! emoticon Almost to Goal!!! and 32 days till my 1/2 marathon! Thank you Spark People! I couldn't do it alone! emoticon emoticon

So of course in my efforts to track more.. I think this is super paying off!!! Thank you new inspiration. I've been adding foods constantly that aren't in there and not settling for the next best one, which is what I was doing when I first started. I have decided not to be lazy and go get the container and enter what I am actually eating into the tracker. Now it is there for other people too. I don't always eat the fat free one.. I shop off brands, walmart, aldi's.. so I'm entering! and I'm so excited. My first day tracking I was at 1600 calories.. now I know I need to be much closer to 1200-1500... so I've been doing so much better. What a difference it makes! I just can't say enough how sparked I am! I'm feeling so much better too! Just making that commitment to myself has been great.

Oh, yesterday I looked over my nutrition report and not enough veggies. shocking I know! I was in there so far as calories but I like the pie chart.. this much carbs, this much fat, this much protein.. and this is your goal. it rocks!

anyway.. I'm so sparked about adding the foods to the tracker and tracking my intake and of course my outtake (exercise minutes)!

Spark people is just such a wonderful resource!

I'm still tracking. You know it is easy to stop doing but hard to re-start. This is getting easier and I think I'm having more fun with it this time around. I do love this tool and how it breaks down all the different things we are getting from our foods.

Nothing exciting to write about really... I'm not a writer. I'm just happy eating my cucumbers and tomatoes and tracking it! (-:

    So true Compucathy! Because now I'm having an okay time with this... i've tracked everyday.. Then you get out of the habit and think, oh I have this.. no problem. but then bit by little tiny bit the weight creeps back. (-: Going to stick with it this time.

Tracking is so important

So I have been in denial about why I am not loosing weight. I know I need to loose a few more pounds but with putting on the mileage for the half I have told myself it is unnecessary and that if I just maintain I'll be okay. Well my goal weight has come and gone on the scale and now for the last 2 weeks I have been 3 pounds up and cannot seem to shake this. I was blaming the longer mileage. I have myself convinced that eyeballing it and guestimating at how much I am taking in is going okay. Then yesterday it happened. I got on the scale at the doctor's office. You know that thing put 2 more pounds on!!!! what! I'm almost back where I started! Get out of here! this is so not happening!

So thanks to motivation from a fellow Sparker, I decided it was time to track my intake. I logged what I thought I ate on my nutrition log. Later I walked by the kitchen and went 'gasp, I ate some of those' back to the computer to put that on my nutrition. Then later I recalled something else, and something else and 4 'something elses' later I was eating chicken and vegetables without butter for dinner LOL!!!!

Moral of the story.. TRACK!

I was in complete denial! I've had to be over eating 300 to 500 calories a day. are you kidding me! No wonder!

So the lesson is even in maintenance mode I need to TRACK TRACK TRACK!

    Tracking is definitely super important! It really puts all the food you eat into perspective! I would be afraid to see what my tracker would look like from even July! I was eating huge burgers from Wendy's with a side of mozzarella sticks from Arby's on a regular basis and making cookies or cobbler every night for dessert! Talk about BAD CHOICES!!! When I decided to start my diet I found what typed of food I needed to be eating on another site, and came across spark people totally by accident! Best accident ever! emoticon
