Added my weight ticker - finally!

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

I finally added my weight ticker to my page. I know it is wrong but I just couldn't face publically announcing my weight until now.

I realize it really isn't that bad considering I am 6' but I found myself embarassed by my weight.

But have to face the truth and then do something about it. Feeling better about myself already!

WOW you've lost 20 pounds. Don't you want to show that off? I didn't want anyone to know how much I weighed either. My 2 boys (9 and 11) didn't even know. But since I joined spark and put it up there on my ticker they've known. But it didn't matter to me this time because I knew I wasn't going to be that heavy again. It hasn't been so bad with them knowing. They've actually been very supportive. They said they were going to throw me a 200 pound party and it was going to be big. lol.....

I'm glad that you feel comfortable now releasing that information. LOL! I understand it's a big thing. When I first started on here, I was intimidated by that number as well. But then I saw all the cute weight tickers and saw it as a way to express myself. Glad you feel better about it.

Clothes Shopping - I hate it!!!!!

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

Spent over 4 hours at the mall yesterday shopping for clothes. Not a great shopper at the best of times - but frustration was at an all time high yesterday.

Not sure why but when I first start to loose the weight I feel heavier and I think I look bigger so nothing looks good on me. I hate clothes shopping no matter what size I am - always have.

Had to buy a dress - but the choices out there are just not me. Sleeveless - what with my bigger than ever waving arm flaps - don't think so. The 60's look is back - didn't like it then still not liking it. Finally after trying on over 20 dresses I picked the lesser of the evils.

Did buy some jeans - Reitman's has talls and they actually fit me - at 6' it isn't easy to find women's jeans that are long enough - especially when I had to shop at the bigger size stores. Also was able to get some tall dress pants - at least I found a couple of things to make the trip worthwhile.

Still have more to buy - will be back out at it again next weekend - what a way to ruin a weekend!

Have to agree with you about the clothes being offered this spring. I went to the mall with my daughter last Friday and was horrified at the window displays. What ugly clothes I hope it doesn't catch on and they come out with a better collection. Somehow I don't see the kids in this stuff either.

I'm with you on the sleeveless look. I NEVER go sleeveless. Don't like the look of it esp. on me. I also don't like the 60's look. Hate all the wild colors and prints, I usually go for solid colors and no ruffles. (I must be getting old) Good luck on finishing your shopping! Velma

Kids are coming for a visit!!!!

Sunday, March 23, 2008

My daughter and my son and his fiance are coming by for dinner tonight since it is our anniversary.

We are just going to order in some Chinese food so I know I won't be staying in my calorie range - but I really don't care. This will only be my 2nd day of not counting calories since I started in January.

I just want to enjoy the day and having both my kids here at the same time. I'll go for a walk this afternoon and do my strength exercises so it won't be all bad.

Hope you had a nice Anniversary and enjoyed the visit with your children.

Gosh! I wish I could say that I've missed only 2 days from counting calories since January. I bet you really enjoy the Chinese food?

You're doing great!!

Shopping for clothes - finally a good experience!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Went shopping for clothes today - need some stuff for the cruise as last years clothes don't fit anymore. Bought them in the regular section - didn't even have to buy XL - been a while since I could do that. Felt good - have to go out on Monday and buy some more - am even looking forward to it now.

Went through old bathing suits - have from size 12 to 22 in my collection - good thing I kept them. Found two that fit good (15's) and 1 that is a bit samll (14) but will do so I won't have to spend money on a bathing suit.

I really think I needed this boost - was thinking I wasn't losing enogh or looking any better but this has really given me the encouragement to keep on doing what I'm doing. Just hope I can keep myself from pigging out too much when on the cruise and in Florida after.

Congratulations! Isn't that the most wonderful feeling? I still have to pinch myself everytime I go shopping. That's the results of your dedication...and you aren't done yet!

Have fun on your cruise. I have a feeling you will be fine. Just remember, moderation. You can have some of those goodies, but save a few minutes to swim or workout so you don't get out of your routine.

Be sure to drop back by to tell us all about your trip!

"thin" and "fat" clothes!

Friday, March 21, 2008

Weekly weigh in this morning - down another 2lbs. I'm so happy!!! Now have lost 20lbs since I started in January and at a total of just over 35lbs since October.

Went through my summer clothes today because I will need them for the cruise in a couple of weeks. But found that nothing fits anymore.

I went through some of my old "thin" clothes and found 2 pair of shorts and a couple of T's and one bathing suit that will fit now and a bunch that are still another 10-15lbs away. This is going to end up costing me a lot of money when I go shopping on Monday. But I guess it is worth it - will look much better this summer than last summer.

Packed away my "fat" clothes - still too scared to throw them out - just in case. I know you are supposed to get rid of them - positive thinking and all that but just can't do it yet. Did throw out my old "fattest ever" clothes as I know I will never allow myself to be back up to that all time high weight again.

Also, threw out some "thinnest ever" clothes. I went too far - ended up scary thin. People were always asking me if I was sick etc. Doctor even told me to stop dieting and to gain some weight.

Woman, you have done wonderful!!! Get rid of those fat clothes...you will never need them again. And as for the really skinny clothes...I got rid of them too, too many years and children later. They only make you sad! LOL! I know you will look great for your cruise! I am jealous!
