W2D2 - C25k - accomplished!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Well, I finished W2D2 tonight! It was actually the best run yet. emoticon

The weather was warm but had a good breeze and where I do my walk/jogging is in our local park that has a beautiful trail through the woods. It was starting to get dark, so the breeze really felt good and I was able to really concentrate on running/walking and really enjoying the work out!

I'm MP3 player illiterate so even though I d/l the podcast onto it, I couldn't find it! emoticon but that's ok... I enjoyed the run anyway!!!

I will do W2D3 on Friday or Saturday and then....ta da start W3!!!

Hope this encourages others to start the program. There are several good SP teams out there for C25k beginners. You can try this one and see if it's a good fit

I wouldn't know what to do with a MP3 player-so you are one step ahead of me. I haven't even figured out the heart monitor/ watch we have.

W2D1 C25K ---woo hoo!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I was apprehensive about starting W2 of the C25k but I was pleasantly pleased! I thought it might be too hard but I actually felt better doing W2D1 than W1D3. I'm starting to think that I might really be able to finish this!!! emoticon I found my MP3 player so I think running with music is a lot more fun than without.

Hope this encourages others that it IS possible to do this and NOT keel over while doing it!! emoticon

Congratulations to you Deb! What a wonderful accomplishment! I, too, agree with the podcast suggestion...I find that I can focus on the running and technique when I don't have to worry about the time....with the podcast, I just wait to hear the lady say 'okay, it's time for your 90 second walk' and I am right on track!

I am SO proud of you!

Keep up the good work!!! Download podcasts too to help you along. I find that I stay more focused when I'm listening to someone tell me when the interval starts and ends.
Amazing how powerful music can be right???

W1D3 C25k!

Friday, March 26, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ok, I did it! I finished week #1! Wow today was tough, I really had to focus to keep on going but I got it all done! Jelly legs! emoticon

I haven't even looked ahead to see what Week 2 entails. I didn't want to get discouraged. 13 years ago I loved to jog. I ran just for the fun of it! emoticon I let going back to work full time and juggling my family and their activities interfere with my own health. It was just easier to run through the drive thru when one of the kids had a ball game or music event than to plan it out to eat healthy and take the time out to excercise. Then on the days where they didn't have an event I just came home and collapsed on the couch for the evening. emoticon

No more for that! Of course I will still take time out to relax and enjoy myself but I'm going to do that AFTER I do the important task... which is excercise and get myself healthy!

***I'm done being lazy!

***I'm done taking it easy!

***I'm done making excuses!

Leslie, with this mindset you will be accomplishing all you have set for your gals, good going spark friend, you are inspiring others. By all means still take some time to enjoy and relax, your body needs that to, and you will be ready to continue onward.

I did W1D3 today too!! I also had to push myself to finish most of the run intervals. It was so much harder that D1 and D2. I will attempt W2 on Monday but I am totally ok doing W1 again until if I can't do it.

Congrats on W1 !!! All the best in W2. emoticon

W1D2 C25K

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I finished W1D2 C25k tonight! Hubby went with me also! This seemed tougher tonight but I know I had a faster pace because we went around the circuit in our park 3 times where I only went around it 2 times the first day. I think having hubby there with me pushed my pace!

I am planning on doing D3 on Friday evening. I also walked 2 miles today which is an new uphill course I've started doing this week on my breaks at work. I'm really huffing and puffing when I get back and feel this is really giving me a better workout than walking on flat ground. Let's hope the scale agrees on Saturday!!!!

I'm hoping with my dh's encouragement and the encouragement on here that I follow through on this goal!

And how wonderful to have your DH for support. I'd love to get mine involved.

It's nice to find others who are at the same place in the program as I am! Finished week 1 day 3 this morning!
Each day felt a bit different - but I'm feeling comfortable enough to move on to week 2.

I was supposed to do W1D4 this morning (just don't feel ready for week 2 yet) but overslept then had errands to run emoticon so I'll be out doing it tomorrow. I finally got some new running shoes, I bought a heart rate monitor that also tracks calories burned, and found a sleeve for the iPod that was on clearance so it can quit hanging on my sweats and trying to pull my pants down emoticon.

Since we're at about the same place in the program, I hope we can motivate each other!

W1D1 C25k & Spring into Summer Challenge

Sunday, March 21, 2010

I started 2 new challenges today! I thought the two of them will work well together. One of my SP teams I am on, "Done Being the Fat Girl" is starting a new challege called "Spring into Summer (sis)" and I also joined the SP team "Couch to 5k".

I did my W1D1 C25k today and it was sooo cold! (42 degress out!) But at least the rain stopped while I was running/jogging. You wouldn't think 60 seconds of running at a time would be tough but this was sure tougher than I thought! I did feel really good after I was done!! emoticon

I am also going to continue doing the SP bootcamp videos and playing volleyball 2-3 nights a week. emoticon emoticon emoticon
