Well, a few weeks ago I posted goals wanting to lose 2 lbs a week Well, so far that hasn't happened. I have lost about 1 lb a week since then, so not too bad. I joined a new team, Couch to 5K but won't be able to start until next week. I am working 10-12 hours a day so there is no light left when I get home to run/walk! Plus I am just too exhausted.
I am hoping that doing the Couch to 5k will boost up my weight loss without being too overhelming. Every week my fitness activities show that I go over what is being counted, so I sure would think that the weight loss would be better! So, I am hoping that doing the walk/run training will change things up for my metabolism!

After a few scary, hesitant moments yesterday my Mom & I decided to go ahead and brave the winter weather! It was snowing to beat the band! We thought about not going but we had so been looking forward to my daughter, Lauren's concert with Neal E Boyd for months now. It was so weird, we got about 25 miles away from our home town and there was absolutely NO SNOW whatsoever! It just rained the whole way there (3 hours drive). After we got there we got to visit with Lauren and 2 of her roomies for about an hour then checked into our hotel. Which was so very nice!!!
Then we all went out to eat --- I did fairly well on the calories. As we were coming out of the restaurant the storm had caught up to us! We had to slowly get back to our hotel room, change and get to the concert hall. I let my mother out at the door and then had to park over a mile away and walk in sleet & snow, again coming down to beat the band! And in new Killer Boots! We had to rush to our seats & I was able to get a couple of dark blurry pictures in the auditorium, but they don't allow cameras or recording devices during the performance. boo. SO NO good pics at all.
But to the AWESOME good part! The concert consisted of 8 pieces with Neal singing along with the orchestra for 4 of them. They included: Nessun Dorma, songs from Westside Story, selections from the Sound of Music, Chess and Ave Maria. My absolute favorite was the orchestra doing a selection of songs from Phantom of the Opera! That was so great and I was crying throughout most of it. My daughter plays the flute & the piccolo. There were several spots during the selections that the piccolo was playing semi solo and I could really hear her playing. I just had chills throughout the whole performance. I am so proud of her and what she has accomlished!
It was such a wonderful weekend and I enjoyed so much hearing her performance and spending time with her and my mother!
