My dog is not feeling wellSunday, August 07, 2011
Cooper is sick. I think it might be kennel cough. Of course it is Sunday, so I have to wait until 8am tomorrow to call the vet. He is congested with a hacking cough. I would feel guilty about making him sick, but he probably got it from the shelter... if it is kennel cough. His energy level is pretty low. We only walked for about 15 minutes early this morning and he has been sleeping ever since. We usually walk for at least 30-40 minutes at a time, but I don't want to stress him out, so we are going to stick to short walks today. His little sniffs, snorts and snores make me feel bad for him, but what can I do but wait until the morning? ![]()

Aww poor Cooper - hope he feels better soon, let us know what the vet says. Congrats on the weight loss - that's a great result! & I agree with the other comments about your cal intake, do what feels right. Good luck with the vets & Coop! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Sorry Cooper isn't feeling well. You might try mixing a little raw honey with water and see if he'll drink it. If not, you could always feed it to him with a medicine dropper if you are sure he won't bite you. The honey may coat the lining of his throat and help with the irritation and it won't affect anything the vet may give him later. If it seems to help, give him some more as he needs it. Also, if it is kennel cough, it's pretty contagious, so you shouldn't let your dog interact with other animals and birds if you can help it. The good news is when it's caught fairly early, it shouldn't be a huge deal, but untreated it can develop into other more serious things. I'm sure your vet will take good care of him and soon Cooper will be his own self again! Good luck and God Bless, Larry Report Inappropriate Comment |

I hope your dog gets better soon. Always tough when a furkid is sick.

All this walking is making my feet hurt, and my ankles are sore... okay, that was my whining moment. I went back to my friend's house today to do some more painting in her kitchen. I pretty much got one window done. There is some fine detail work she wanted done, and that took awhile. I am pretty tired, as my whining attests to, but it sort of feels good. I am burning too many calories compared to what I am taking in according to my fitness tracker, so I upped my calories and I am still getting that warning! I don't think there is time enough in the day for me to eat much more than I do now. So, I guess I will just eat what feels right and is close to my target calorie range, and hope for the best.

I keep getting that calorie warning too. As long as I lose up to 2 lbs. a week and I feel o.k. I ignore it.

same happens to me, daily, and I have not lost any weight since last November, in fact, I have gained 5 pounds, so go figure, I would be back to my old weight in no time at all if I listened to them.
