Making Life an Adventure

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

This topic really rings a bell with me. I love looking at life as an adventure! Unfortunately, I don't always do a great job of it for myself. BUT.... the last few days I have! =D

I finally purchased a new bike and have had it out twice. Plus, yesterday I went for a long hike and had the best time! I love being active and getting out in nature! and it's been something I've looked forward to every day!

Also, I finally made it to the Farmer's Market and have so enjoyed the fresh veggies! It's made eating more veggies a snap! =)

So, on this topic, for the past few days, I've been very successful. =)

Changing my life

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Today, I'm still working to get over a cold. But making progress to make some permanent lifestyle changes. Today, I walked away from some cinnamon crumble coffiee cake. I have also decided to no longer put life on hold while I work to settle my house. I'll do it one step at a time, but will start simply enjoying life and work it in one day at a time.

Forgetting what's behind

That is something that is difficult for me - allowing myself to forget my mistakes. Well, maybe it's the fact that if I made a mistake (at least with dieting) I have a tendancy to give up completely instead of laying down to that day and picking up on the next. If I can learn to relate the mistake to the single day and not to the diet as a whole, then maybe I will be more successful at keeping up with my diet over the longterm.

It's interesting that I would read another quote on leadership and that true leadership focuses on the people around you rather than on praise received. I just heard some of this at the PTK convention. It is really true and something I need to work on more. I need to be sure that I am helping the people around me to succeed and not worry so much about whether or not I am.
