A MRI and Day 30 - ChaLEAN Extreme

I did my MRI this morning. The experience was not as frightening as I thought it would be and I am now positive that I am not claustrophobic! The machine was loud...it makes a knocking sound when it is taking the image...so they gave me earplugs. I could still hear the sound so I can just imagine how loud it actually is!! They wrapped me up in a blanket because it was very cold so I was very comfortable. I had to lie still for 40 minutes...yes...40 entire minutes. I think I dozed off a few times. The Radiographer asked me if that was possible with the noise. I guess so....

I was told the results would be ready in two days so imagine my surprise when they called me this afternoon and told me that I should pick it up tomorrow emoticon. Two things ran through my mind - the results are bad and they had to hurry up and get the report to my doctor. But then, wouldn't they call him and not me? OR maybe the radiologist had a lot of time on his hands so he did my report early! I am hoping it is the latter. They wouldn't give me the results over the phone and the report is addressed to my doctor BUT maybe I might open it since he only works at the location I visit, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I am going to try and get an appointment for Wednesday. If there is no available time, I will carry it to my personal doctor! There is no way I can wait beyond Wednesday to know! Thanks for the prayers and support my emoticons. I will keep you updated.

Today was my rest day and measurement day!! I only lost 4 inches overall.... emoticon and 3lbs. One thigh lost 0.5inches and the other increased my 0.5 inches... emoticon...wth?? Well, this is better than when I did it in January so I am grateful and that is a start. Hopefully, my 60 day results will be phenomenal!!

So unto the Push Phase tomorrow at 3:30 am!!

    i would question the measures of your thighs only because I think it's so hard to actually measure in the exact same place as before. :( Congrats on the 4 inches lost! You can tell more in the way your clothes feel.
40 minutes sounds like a long time. I know people have said it takes that long and you wonder, why? Why does it take that long? I think I would fall asleep too if I was wrapped cozy in a blanket. Can't wait to hear your results.

    Way to go on the weight loss. I've been there with the MRI but I had 2 back to back and I will NEVER do that again. I was in so much pain by the end of the last one as it was for my hips where my legs were taped together from my hip to both my feet. Awkward position and very unfortable. Happy you made it through and I hope your results are fine!!

    I guess the lying still would be the most difficult part for me... but then, I've dozed off during a root canal before. emoticon I hope you were able to get your appointment for tomorrow, I totally understand that you'd be anxious to get your results!

Oh, and I'm secretly hoping your pounds lost will rub off on me, because 3 lbs would get me to my April goal.. otherwise, I suppose I'm stuck doing it the hard way like you and just work for it. emoticon emoticon

    I'm glad it wasn't a horrible experience. Lucky you aren't claustrophobic. Wow! 40 minutes is a long time. At least you got a little sleep ;-)
They probably had time and it was easy to read. No, you can't get results over the phone.
I don't think I can wait longer than Wednesday for the results either.
4 inches is awesome!!!!
I don't know what's up with the thighs. Very weird.

Day 29 - ChaLEAN Extreme with a lil' Turbo Jam

'To the front babydoll!'

One of my favorite sayings from Turbo Jam! Chalene has such an infectious spirit...no matter how down or not into it you feel before a workout, you are guaranteed to feel upbeat after her workouts!

Today, there was a little switch in the CLX schedule. Instead of doing a strength training workout, Burn It Off and Recharge was in order. I think I like this new schedule. It means I will be doing ST on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. My rest day will still be on Mondays. On Saturdays, I will do ST before water aerobics. I am normally burned out after water aerobics so I have to do any other exercise before I go.

Tomorrow, I will take my measurements. I have lost weight but the measurements may be another story. Most of my beachbody friends who I had started out with in January (and who are now completing the lean phase) did not see much change in their measurements until the Push Phase. Plus Chalene did write that it is in the Lean Phase, one will see major fat loss! Of course, I am not discrediting all the work I have done this month, I am just trying to have realistic expectations. I definitely feel stronger! I am doing push ups on my toes (not all reps but it is a start emoticon) AND best of all, today, I did all Burpees in Burn It Off without modifications!!! emoticon emoticon

I did Cardio Party - it has been a while since I did this workout. I have been doing Cardio Party Mix 2 so many times, I forgot that Cardio Party is so much fun!! George cracks me up with those sounds he makes throughout the video! By time, I was done. I was soaked and grateful to do Slim & Limber from Slim in 6.

Day 28 - ChaLEAN Extreme - Water Aerobics.

I woke up at 6:15a.m. Still tired! I decided that I was not going to water aerobics and tried to go back to sleep....didn't happen. At 7:30, I was driving out on my way to class!

I am glad I went! My fear of the water wasn't as bad as last week so I was able to move away from the wall most of the times. emoticon Today, the lead instructor took the class...now here is this petite 4ft woman about to take us through the hour...should be easy! NOPE! She is a captain in the Jamaican army and man, did she take us through the drills!! I swear my heart rate went up as high as it did yesterday when I did Burn It Off.

To warm up, we had to walk a lap, then run a lap...20 times!!! This meant that when I reach the deep end of the pool, I had to paddle like crazy to make sure I wouldn't sink (which is almost impossible with the noodle around my waist...but I still don't have that trust factor yet). My arms and legs got a workout!!

I don't remember all the exercises but let me share the ones I remember:

We had to lie on our backs and open and close both our arms and legs. It was hard and the resistance of the water forced us to work harder.




We also did standing knee swings. We were allowed to hold on to the wall and the outside leg was to swing up - our toes must come out of the water - and then swing to the back - our heels were to come out of the water. Then we turned around and did it on the other leg.



We were instructed to touch our ankles with our opposite hands...that was scary for me because you had to move with a speed to keep afloat...I didn't do the full reps...lol



We also did knee-ups while swinging our hands, jogging, worked our obliques and a lot of stretching!

I am sure I will sleep well tonight!! emoticon And I am positive, I will feel some soreness tomorrow!

Day 27 - ChaLEAN Extreme plus I need more sleep!

Today I did Burn It Off, Fat Blaster and Slim & Limber emoticon.

I am really tired and have not been getting more than average 5 hours sleep every night. I need to get more sleep. I am hoping that I will get some tomorrow as I don't have much planned for the day!

There is suppose to be water aerobics tomorrow but it depends on if my period decides to stop tonight (sorry....TMI). If I can't make it, then I will do something from Turbo Jam - maybe Cardio Party 2 or something from Hip Hop Abs like Fat Burning Cardio 2. My Zumba DVDs shipped to day. It is scheduled to reach my Miami address (for shipping purposes only) on April 2, 2011 so it won't reach Jamaica until probably April 6. I can't wait to shake shake shake! emoticon
