May 8 Goals

Well I did pretty okay with my goals. I didn't actually rake the leaves, DH did, I put them in the garbage bags. It was still a great workout, we were sweating hard! lol I did get the pictures ready and uploaded to walmart.com. I only got 2 cards done, honestly, I forgot I had said 4, lol and I had the baby that I watch a couple of times a month, so it was a little crazy here yesterday. Eating, well if the scale was any indication I did pretty okay. I gained .4 on the scale, some of that is water weight though and part is the eating.

Today's goals:
1. Complete MIL's mother's day gift
2. Trim the trees in our yard
3. Get my water in
4. Stay under 1600 calories

Busy day and I am not sure what it is going to bring.

May 7 Goals

I met all my goals yesterday!! emoticon I had a bit of a struggle with the run/walk goal. Not that I didn't want to do it, but DH decided not to come straight home but go to his chess club and do it was just me and DS to go out. DS was struggling on his bike, it was like he forgot how to pedal or something. I know part of it was his seat is too low so he doesn't have the best leverage on the pedals. Anyway, I ended up walking the first .2 miles and then running and pushing him the next .4 miles. I got super frustrated so said forget it. That's enough. And he parked his bike and we came in. DH came home about 30 mins later, the chess club closed down. He was sad and so was I, he was so looking forward to this. Anyway, he took care of the child while I went out to finish my run. I ran another .6 miles (total of 1 mile) and then walked another .3 or so. I need to find out how much it is around the first little part of our block since that is my cool down lap. Anyway, total I went about 1.5 miles. :-)

Goals for today:
1. Rake leaves in yard as my exercise for the day
2. Get pictures ready and upload to walmart.com for MIL's mother's day gift
3. Get at least 4 cards made for this month (I have 10 birthdays I need to get cards ready for this month!! YIKES!!! Better get a move on! lol)
4. Watch what I eat. Kindof a day off, but not really, so I am going to do my best, but not be hard on myself if we decide to go out to eat or something.

Also this morning at my DS's school his teacher had a breakfast. They had bagels, donuts and fruit. I had half a bagel and half a donut and no room for fruit on my plate. Should have been at the first of the table instead of the end! lol I didn't want to be piggy and go back for seconds even though they were good seconds, so I just ate what I had on my plate and shared a bite of the donut with DS! :-) And drank a whole bottle of water! They had cute little projects on the table. The mother's were impressed. It was a great morning.

    Have you tried using sparks maps to judge your walk? You might have to actually enter addresses but it would be do able.

May 6 Goals

Okay this is really late in posting, but I did have some in mind, so I am posting them anyway.

As for yesterday...I did stay within my calorie range...here is the story of it though! lol I had the Shelley's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas (except I make it into a casserole, the enchiladas take too long and tend to fall apart when you are making them! lol) AND I must admit that I had DH stop and get chips, salsa and queso from Chili's. But I didn't eat too much, just enough. I stayed well within my range, thanks to the help of accidentally forgetting to eat lunch! ROFL I am always messed up on Wed because it isn't a normal work day schedule. I usually haul my lunch to work only to bring it back home because I leave at noon instead of the regular 2pm. But this time I actually remembered and didn't take it. But I got DS off the bus and then was trying to get pics ordered at Walmart for my mom's mother's day gift so I could mail it yesterday. Anyway, after I got the pics done I was getting hungry and thought, well I will have my snack and then I can go pick up the pics. When we got home I put the gift together and we raced to the post office to mail it. One of the times in the car, my tummy started growling and I thought, why am I hungry I had my snack?! It wasn't until dinner was over and I was putting the leftover away that I saw my lunch in the fridge and realized "I forgot to eat lunch!" Oh man! So just for kicks I put in my lunch on my tracker and I still would have been in my range had I eaten lunch, just on the high side. Oh geez! lol So either way I would have been okay.

I did not get any exercise in today. I kindof spaced it and the next thing I knew it was 11:30. But I did get my water in and I got the mother's day gift done and mailed.

For today my goals were:
1. Stay within my calorie range
2. Drink 10 glasses of water
3. Go on run/walk around the block
4. Go grocery shopping and get the laundry done

I'll let you know how I did first thing in the morning!

YAY two days in a row I have met my goals! Including the 1/2 cup of ice cream!!! YAY me! lol That is something in the past I never would have done. I would have always given in to a larger portion. It was actually kindof funny because the lady sitting next to me was saying how good I looked and how I must still be losing weight and I was telling her how I was actually on a plateau of sorts, gaining and losing the same 5-10 pounds since last May. She said she thought I still looked smaller (I think it is because I finally have clothes that fit!! lol) Anyway, she was asking how I had willpower to keep staying on the path. She really didn't give me a chance to answer as she went on to something else. But then I went to get my ice cream and the bowls they had already dished had like 3 large scoops in them! YIKES, I don't want those. So I went into the kitchen area and saw one of my friends dishing and she had a bowl that had only one little scoop in it and was in the process of scooping to add another one and I said, "can I just take that one just like that?" And she said sure and so I took it. I came back into the other room and that same lady said, "see, look at you, you are so good." lol I just made the decision before hand and stuck to it. I am so happy!!! Usually I would end up allowing myself to eat whatever I want in the name of a "party". I still have the choice and I choose to get healthy and stay within my calorie range. I had ice cream just like everyone else, but I didn't have to have 3 scoops of it like everyone else. :-) Also as for the ST...I was getting in bed and realized I had not yet done my ST. So I hopped up and quickly did 50 of each! Glad I set the goal or else I would have just said, "oh I will do it tomorrow."

So for today...Happy Cinco De Mayo! lol And since Mexican IS my favorite food, I WILL be having it, but once again staying in my ranges!

1. Stay within my calorie range while celebrating a Cinco De Mayo dinner SP approved recipe Shelley's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas! (If you haven't tried these you should, they are super yummy!)
2. Exercise for 30 minutes
3. Drink 10 glasses of water
4. Complete the mother's day mini scrapbook for my mom so I can mail it today.

I am in charge. I make the choices. I can have "treats" and enjoy parties without having to be a pig and eat everything in sight in giant size portions. I can choose to have ONE serving instead of 3! I am in control of my destiny and I have to decide what is most important (the 3 scoops of ice cream or the one 1/2 cup scoop? Losing weight and being healthy for the rest of my life or enjoying the junk for the 10 mins it lasts?) and make my choices accordingly!

I still to get the motivation to get back on track. I started two days ago but blew it yesterday!!! Reading your blog reminds me that I am not in this alone and we all struggle with alot of the same issues. Thank you for reminding me that I have to CHOOSE what I want. If I want this I have to CHOOSE to commit!!!!!

May 4 Goals

I met all 3 goals yesterday!!! emoticon

For today:
1. Stay within my calorie range
2. Have only a 1/2 cup serving of ice cream at the church social tonight
3. Do Strength training (50 wall push-ups, 50 sit ups and 50 squats)
4. Drink 10 glasses of water

Because I want to be healthy. But I also want to inspire my husband to be healthy. I want us to work together on this. So hopefully starting tomorrow we can really do this together. Tonight we have a function at the church, an ice cream social, so I am not going to deny just eat in moderation and stay within my calories. :-)
