March 12, 2007 - starting the process
So, I'm starting this blog for a support system and for others to get their support system too. I'm sorry I'm going to be vague on who I am. I'm not exactly comfortable with putting all my info out there ESPECIALLY since this is going to be public and the info I'll be posting is going to be hard for me to post. I know people who are fighting the weight battle understand - you're embarrassed at how much you weigh and what you eat.
I'm going to use this blog to post daily weight and food log. Please feel free to comment - I know I'm not the greatest healthy eater. I LOVE diet coke, I HATE vegetables.
A little bit about my weight background. I gained weight when I got married - specifically 1 month to the wedding - when the hubby moved in. I gained about 30 lbs. - that was 1998. About 2 years later, I joined Weight Watchers and lost the weight. When I stopped the program, the weight came back - plus some. About 2 years ago, I tried Weight Watchers again, but obviously, I wasn't committed. I lost 10 lbs, but have gained it back.
The last year (2006) has been medically challenging. I had surgery for a "girly problem" and one of the issues that came out was my blood pressure is high. To add to the high levels, I went on birth control to control the girly problems, which one of the side effects is high blood pressure. 2007 hasn't been too much better I have had 2 sinus infections so far. Decongestants also add to high blood pressure. Needless to say, my levels have been out of whack.
Now, I know that the weight isn't helping. But losing weight is easier said than done.
Here goes the process - thanks for the support (FROM MY YAHOO 360 BLOG)
September 11, 2008 - update
So a long time ago, I posted on my Yahoo 360 blog about Sparkpeople.com. I didn't really look at it because I was blogging on my 360 page.
Last March (2008), I decided to simplify and only blog on my myspace page - the bad part - it was all diary and I didn't have the support that I needed to keep the weight off this summer.
Now, I'm up 10 lbs. and starting over. I started looking at 360 again, but it's almost dead over there. This site is what I need. I look forward to meeting everyone on here.
Medically, everything seems pretty good with me. I found out this summer that I have a Bakker's cyst on my right knee and tendonitis in my left leg. I have ALWAYS had knee problems - as long as I can remember - I was always told it was growing pains - even when I was 18 years old. I always assumed it was arthritis. At least now I know what it is.
Family wise, it's just me, my (skinny) hubby, and pup. The hubby doesn't understand the weight thing - his WHOLE family is SKINNY, SKINNY, SKINNY. I've always been around the weight struggle. The pup is 1 1/2 yrs old so full of energy and MAKES me walk (which is a positive).
