Air Canada, the Police and the Birthday!

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Son#2 is a pilot with Air Canada-
Yesterday he sent some pretty neat pictures from the cockpit of his plane.
He was over the rockies--
I enjoy getting these----I always tell him that I will share them on Spark--

Sometimes son#2 calls me from the cockpit---I am always impressed with that!

Yesterday I was at our local gas station and in came a police cruiser--
It was son #3 , the Ontario Provincial policeman--
He rolled down his window and we chatted--
Sometimes he shakes his fist at me , when I sail past his cruiser , too fast---
Mom's have to drive slowly in this town--

To-day we have rain----It makes for tricky walking, as everything froze last night---and it's almost impossible to see the ice----In this area , we call this " black ice"---We really need snow , in the north, to give us better driving conditions this time of year.

My Birthday is Dec.16th---this Friday-- I'm telling all you , so you can get on your best ""bib and tucker"" and come to my virtual party, right here on Spark---
It's an all-day event---We shall drink lotza water----do some "'Dreadmilling""--Sounds like fun eh??--LOL----But I do need to see y'all---

Son#3 the policeman, just called--bringing out his daughter's ""fund raiser"" cheese--They need the $$$ to help with their swim club--

Enjoy the day--remember to take time to strike up a conversation with a special old-er person---Make their day!!---Drink water------ Watch out for the wildlife!!
Big hugs coming yer way----

Well, I am glad you share the pics from the cockpit! I think they're totally emoticon! Keep on sharing.

YIKES! You can't get away with anything when DS is a Provincial Officer, can you! LOL Be good! emoticon

OOOHHHH . . . got the bib and tucker ready for THE PARTY!!!!! Dreadmill . . . alright, I'll bite for that too, as long as it's followed by a virtual, calorie-less cake! YUMMO! So . . . won't it be exciting to be 21 . . . again!! LOL I had my kids convinced for a long time that I was 21 (when I was in my 40's! Of course, they were younger . . . much, much younger. And, of course, so was I!) I guewss I was put in my place yesterday. I was heading out of the grocery store to the van to unload. A young whippersnapper came up to me and asked, sincerely, if I wanted help unloading my groceries. Man, did **I** feel old. I just thanked him and explained that once I get home I have to be able to unload the van so I was practicing (I think this little guy was 6 or 7). It was actually pretty cute!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday. Keep that hydro company happy and hug that water heater!! LOL

one of my favourite signs
Dec. 12th, and no snow---Weird! --It is nice for driving, but, I'm sure the stores are feeling it--I have no doubt that there will be snow in this area, for Xmas---After all, I live pretty far north--The weather predictions for this week, ---all week however--, is --rain----
To-day is my last piano lesson for this session---
I am happy about that, as I need the time now to get the house ready for Xmas---

Yesterday , son #4 dropped in , with Ethan--his 2 yr old son---who calls me "'Nama"---
As soon as they left, in came son #1, with his "'woman"" , and his GSDOG, Eddy-----
They just left, and in came son #3, the Policeman, with his 2 daughters , and his 2 dogs---
Husband and I were pooped when they all left-----

Last night was the final episode of ""The Amazing Race""----
""American Idol"" starts Jan. 18th---
I lead such an exciting life--LOL-----
But-------the best part of my life--is "'Sparking""---and to-day----I guess water will be my "'push""--Drinking 8 glasses of water is no easy feat!!

Dec. 16th is my virtual Birthday Party --and y'all are invited---- Post it on yer computer there!
Florence needs your prayers to-day---- She is a Sparkler Loser----and her nephew passed --He was fishing and fell out of the boat and drowned--just before Xmas--- Her family are in "'the depths of despair""---so--if we could pray for strength for her, it would help her ---
And so another day------Enjoy it! Keep on dancing!

I don't know how you do it!!!! Your pic of your Granddaughter is so sweet!!!! I hope you get all your decorating done soon, and send some snow down here to NC for Christmas okay!! I am originally from Northern Illinois, right on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin, so we always had white Christmas', and I miss it living here in the South.... However, once Christmas is over, it can all melt, and go back to being warmer, LOL!! Take care my sweet friend!! Hugs!! Shannon

Sorry to hear of Florence's nephew. I will keep her in my prayers. It sounds like you had a houseful! It is so nice to have your children close enough to visit. My oldest daughter is married and lives about two hours away. With the distance we only get to see her and her hubby every other weekend. The little one (she's really the middle child but since she is only 4'11" we call her the little one) lives in Fargo ND while in grad school and we miss her terribly but she will be home on the 21st for three weeks so we will enjoy seeing her. My son at almost 21 (in one month) lives with us. He told me when he was little that he was never leaving me and he is making good on that promise. I really love having him here with all his friends in and out all day. Right now I am hoping for grandkids before I get too old to enjoy them. emoticon

Come To my Virtual Birthday Party-Dec.16th

Sunday, December 11, 2011

Dec.16th is my Birthday--this coming Friday--
I am throwing a Virtual Birthday Party---serving virtual Birthday cake-- (no calories)---BBQing Brocalli---(no calories)---having exercise equipment brought in for everyone ----the kind you just lounge on--no effort required --and you get 1000 Spark points--
Miami Beach--the actual beach- front will be here---online---and even if you don't look so great in your swim suit,-- online, you will look great----
Will you all come?? Please?
Daily reminders will be sent out----to everyone on Spark--
We will have a bash----!!!!!

Tis Sunday--- Ya gotta luv Sundays----You can get up a bit later--- do stuff you can't get done on weekdays--like laundry---- At least , on Sundays, the power metre doesn't hit the roof (as much)--with the dryer going----
We have hot water-----(Yeah!)----------They still never came to take out the old tank--That is ""Reliance""--in case any of you are thinking of changing yer water tank---just remember all the chaos we went through to get a new tank---It wasn't fun----and it will be less fun next summer, with no AC--- (as they unhooked our AC to hook in the new water tank)--Sometimes life is crazy----- and one must try to remain sane through some pretty frustrating stuff--

""Sometimes it rains on the just. I believe that.
Sometimes it rains on the unjust. I believe that too.
But I also believe that sometimes it just rains.
Neither God or Justice or belief has anything to do with it."""
Good Morning Sparklers!--

EARLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! A Christmas baby!! Is that a blessing or a curse? My friend's birthday is the 17th and she always said it was a curse because everyone ws so busy with Christmas preparations that her family sometimes forgot her about her birthday. My kids were all born in January so I just remember being extremely pregnant at Christmas. Virtual birthday cake sounds great. No calories or sugar to worry about. Celebrate your birthday all week and have a blast!!! emoticon

Home is where the heart is---and all that!!

Saturday, December 10, 2011

a grandchild------ Her smile is wonderful!
There are those who really never know their minds.
They're confused and they're not the stayin' kind.
They don't know what they're really lookin' for.
I don't suffer from that problem anymore.

You could send me away and I would go.
I would go but I would not go too far.
You could send me home but you would know,
Home to me is anywhere you are.
by Tom Paxton (Home To Me)

It's Christmas time, and this poem comes to mind--because, "'Home To Me"", is anywhere my family are---If they are here, I am happy at this time of year--If we travel to their neck of their woods, that would bring me happiness too---
I was driving home yesterday, from town, and on the radio, was that song about being, "'Home For The Holidays"", and it brought a tear to my heart.
Some of my children will not make it home here, over Xmas ----Some will arrive during the holidays and that is OK too---And then, there are all the young men and women who are overseas and are not able to make it back home----Just think of how their heart must feel?----I cannot imagine!
And there are the very old people who have lost a spouse, and will be spending a Xmas without their partner in life--

And so on. Very few of us can go all the way alone. Everybody needs somebody sometime--doncha think?--

Life is busy around here these days--Husband and I have solved the hot water problem---the puppy Tess is growing---can't squeeze under the gate to the upstairs now, so can't terrorize the cat anymore----Son #3, the Policeman, arrives home to-day with his family--Son#4, the city worker is heading into Sudbury to Xmas shop----
And the world seems to be unfolding the way it should to-day------SO FAR-----
Hug your hot water tank----look on broccali as if it was L'indor chocolate----and value those white haired people--our very wise citizens--It's Dreadmill time in this house----
No snow in this area-----weird--for Santa Claus Land!!

Had to laugh @ looking on broccoli as a L'indor chocolate! LOL I think the only way I culd do that is if it were part of a chocolate fondue! LOL

So glad to hear yo have your hot water heater fixed and going. What a mess!

Glad you'll get to see your family for the holidays, even if it isn't on Christmas Day! I think that's how it's going to go with my family, too. Hope to get down to IL to see my parents on Christmas Eve, but it depends on the work schedules of my kids. That's alright, we'll go when we can.

Beautiful! I agree totally. As I've grown older and the kids have moved out, I've found I'm happiest when we are all together again. I pray for all those families that cannot be together. My son-in-law is in the Army and I am so thankful we are not one of those families this year. Have a GREAT holiday!

One step forward-562 backwards!

This Lady is definitely NOT a happy camper!--*S*

Well, we now have a working hot water tank-
But-----(Isn't there always a ""but""?)--They hooked it up to our panel, by disconnecting the A/C which was wired into the panel-plus -they left the old tank--- I feel like they really didn't complete the job--so--to-day I will call them and TRY to get them back here-
I'm not really pleased--
It took them from 8-30am--to 3-30 pm---It was a big job!
It made for a busy day for me--a messy day---because of them tracking in and out and up and down--and water everywhere---
But--the bottom line is---We have hot water!

It's a new day--supposed to snow---We don't have snow ----
And in our house, the puppy Tess, cannot get under the baby gate anymore-We had beach towels stuffed under the gate so Tess couldn't squeeze under the gate and run upstairs to terrorize the resident cat---
But--she has grown----so the beach towels are now back in the cupboard-one more thing we now don't have to hop over!

Enjoy the day---stay away from the sweet stuff in the stores--Why don't the stores just display delicious brocalli instead of awful chocalate turtles?-----*S*
Hug a grey haired person to-day --chat them up too! --our invisable people--
SMILE Sparkly people!

"" Tess"--the GS.Pup!

Odd they didn't take the tank with them.....

We replaced our furance last year and they wanted to charge us $150 for them to "dispose" of the old one. We said no, and took advantage of our free dump pass we get each year with our garbage stickers, not only that, the metal is recyclable, so we didn't even need to use the pass

Glad you have hot water again, and Tass, she is getting cuter every day!
