I AM working!

It looks like I never get on here anymore...okay I don't but I do update my blog. I just switched everything over to blogger and you can go to leaniepi.com to see what I've been up to. I'm down about 30lbs (I need to update my stuff) and while I do see some results, I have so much more to do. I'm finally at the point I was when I started losing weight in college. I've been this weight before and I CAN get back down. I've been working out with my trainer 3x/week for months, and I can see the results outside of the gym with better posture, increased strength and stamina and awesome muscles. The problem is that I am always sick. I think basically...I have evil tonsils. They are so infected that I am constantly ill. I am hoping once we are done moving to get them removed and god willing be healthy for the first time in a long time.
I like the phentermine. I think I need some diabetes meds too that would really help my body process sugar correctly. My dr. said my levels are a little on the high side of normal, so when I move i'll find another doctor to discuss this with. Sigh, right now (if you can't tell) everything is hinging on this move which is happening next week. My life is a little in shambles, but hopefully everything will come together soon...
I didn't stuff myself at Thanksgiving, had a lovely time and left all the unhealthy food with skinnier people and small children;). While I made the apple pie, I didn't really like the butter crust and so I ate some of the apples out and left it at that. I'm impressed with that.
I've been having insane cravings though. I was about to kill someone for some chocolate last week. I actually wanted oreos (which I've had like 3 times in my life and don't really like) but settled for a brownie. One bite and I was fine. Today I needed red meat. I'm thinking I need to find a vitamin because I'm pretty sure these cravings are my body telling me that I'm not getting something that I need.
Overall, life is good but hectic. If you like blogs, please come read mine. I love input, and never seem to remember to transfer posts over here. I think I need to do a goal re-examination this week as well and center myself.

Hey homies...
I leave tomorrow after work for my year-long planned road trip with my best friend from college. We are heading up to Maine to stay at my family's house. I am sooo excited. I've got so much healthy food packed (including my hot air popper, and popcorn!). I want to take this opportunity to not be a slob, and actually exercise.

    MMmmm cheerios! My favorite as of yesterday was salad, but I am so burnt out on them... so today, I am back on the greek yogurt & cottage cheese favoritism...(not together though...eww)

    Cherries are so yummy! But, i would have to say that my favorite food is raspberries. I could eat them all day. Too bad they're always so expensive!

Okay people--I am recommitting to SparkPeople and need a nice kick in the butt to make it happen. I decided yesterday that I could do the couch to 5K program, and started today. I discovered that I can actually jog! I am so proud of myself for that. What I didn't realize is that I also had to go to the gym today, and so I went and did that for an hour!
I really need to recommit myself to this. I think today is as good as any other day...so lets go me!

    Way to go!

I recently discovered that running was more of a mental trap for me than a physical one, the truth is I can run and have forced myself to learn to love it. I joined the 10 day 5 lb. challenge in the team liberty section and it has really boosted my attendance at the gym, which sometimes seems to be biggest loser style (multiple times a day.)

    Whoo-hooo and I'm going to be a better teammate & partner! Live has been crazy but I get control over my own life again now so yay!

I'm working on the C25K program too, a friend made me sign up for a 2 mile run with her and it's only a month away so I need to get back on track with that to!
Monday was as good of a day as any, why wait for another day and keep pushing it back? Wait to go on 2 big workouts on your re-commitment day too! Are you doing to 3000 cardio minute challenge on our team? You should, all of your minutes will help us big time! emoticon

My goal - to get back to 3 days of c25k, get back on track with eating better and start the 5 lb challenge. Speaking of, I'm off to run now! I measured out the distance in my neighborhood online last night so I'd know where to go & how far it would be!

In 2007 I started having severe back pain, which after going to several doctors was disagnosed as a herniated disc. My weight and my large bust don't help matters. My doctor wanted me to have surgery--an idea that scared me senseless, so instead I got a personal trainer that has worked with me to strengthen my core, and get in shape. I also started going to a chiropractor which has really helped my pain and tension and has improved my posture and alignment radically.
My husband lost his job so I had to radically cut down the time I was spending with my personal trainer. I realized that I was feeling pretty run down by the time I got to see him weekly because I wasn't really exercising the rest of the time, oh yeah and my mother moved in with me and I sorta like to escape so I started going to the gym....daily. I love my mom, but I'm used to silence, and suddenly there is a lot going on at my house. Going to the gym also gets me out of doing dishes;).
I went Wed, Thur, Fri, and today. This is probably my longest streak yet...and I have no idea if I'm losing weight--but I feel good. I feel good about my progress. I did at least 45 minutes of cardio plus abs/back today. I started on Wed with no cardio, thur with 15 minutes both followed by some ab/back work which I have also increased. When my feet start to go numb on the arc trainer (like an elliptical only a million times better!), I just take my shoes off. When my back starts to hurt, I get on a recumbent bike and watch NCIS. I don't have cable, so it is sort of a treat to watch it!
I am taking baby steps. I want to start recording gym/food on here again. I stopped and I think that I started to slide back into not good land. I ate two bagels and a whopper jr today with fries...ugh no amount of cardio is going to work that off. For some reason I am starved today (all those carbs maybe??).

Action Steps:
Go to gym at least 3 more times this week
Record food at least 3 days this week, in entirety!
Eat those veggies--drink that water!

    Hola Chica, I know how you feel about being quiet in the house. My eldest daughter is back from school....yet the youngest one will be off to college in August.     Sounds like you're doing great! Keep up the excellent work and you will not only feel the progress, but see it too! Congrats on going to the gym 4 days in less than a week! that's awesome. The more you go the more it will become habit and you'll WANT to go.. You're doing awesome! Just keep it up :)
