Wow...lots of parties and choices..what stratagy is best ?

Over eating this time of year can be a HUGE problem..There are all kinds of parties to attend and people to see. It certainly seems everything is centered around food. I am WEAK when it comes to these temptations..So I just choose a small amount from each dish, concentrating on healthy choices mainly..but not skipping the unhealthy either if I desire . But the secret for me is ..don't go back for seconds and eat slowly, putting my fork down between bites..drinking lots of water during the meal..and leaving about 10% of the food on my plate ..Generally I am satisfied once I get to that point anyway.
I too find if I have just one bite of dessert..and give the rest to my husband (who can eat anyone under the table and never gain a pound), I am satisfied.

back to feeling somewhat better...

I did go to the Clinic here in town yesterday..the PA discovered that I have bursitis..She gave me a shot in the joint and said I need to take it easy..No more recumbent biking at such a high level..since I am agitating the hip.
Now I have to cool my jets with exercise for a week and a half..But I feel I can do some walking..I need to do something.
Today is a wonderful..overcast day. Low cloud cover is hovering over us..not a day that is remarkable in any way..But it is a wonderful day in its own right..We are alive and enjoying this gift thats been given us..I am going to use this gift to better myself help others.

My hip gave out last night..Oh..what to do???
I am limping around with a cane. In lots of discomfort. I'm calling a Dr. today. I never go to Dr...but this has me very concerned.
I think I am doing too high of a level on the recumbent bike..and its putting alot of stress on that hip..so todays plan is doing "chair exercise". I haven't done those in years..but I do have the DVD..and I know that they give a complete body workout.

I have drank the milk/turmeric for two and half days now..I am reporting that the stuff seems to be lessening my discomfort. My nights have been more restful..not the constant leg aching. Too, I notice some lessening of my inability to walk well..I am definitely not 100%..a long way from it..But I do notice a improvement. I am hoping each day will see me doing better..I will keep you posted..For you who didn't read my yesterdays post..its 1/2 t. turmeric and 1/2 c. warm milk ,drank morning and night..too I add a small piece of raw ginger chopped. I get my turmeric from San Francisco Herb..Best prices around
As for the walking..I do it indoors. I am chicken when it comes to walking outdoors in the winter..too many friends have fallen and broken bones.
We got a sprinkling of snow last night..We live in Eastern Oregon. I feel so bad for those who live in the Buffalo, New York area.
