Well here I am! Only 19 days into the real challenge, and I'm already past 1/4 of the way into my weight loss goal!!!
I haven't been very consistent with logging into SP recently, but I've been taking the lessons so far to heart. I'm watching my portion sizes, trying to sleep more, get more water, and be conscious of what I'm choosing to eat. So far it is working fantastically!
My next challenge is to start into the fitness side, as I haven't been doing that at all, and I know fitness goes hand in hand with nutrition.
Wish me luck with the workouts!

Well, I'm still here and still keeping the positive attitude that I know I'll need to succeed!
I had a few really bad days due to a very stressful situation at home and a nice head cold as well. I didn't have the energy to turn the pc on, let alone track anything, so I did break my streaks on a few things. But that's okay: no one is penalizing me except for me, and I refuse!
I've been able to lose 5 pounds so far just simply from portion control, and I'm really enjoying the challenge of finding foods that fit into a healthy eating plan and meet all my nutritional goals!
Now I just have to work on the exercise part.....ugh!

So I'm on day 2 of the challenge.
I'm feeling good because I have clearly defined, and measurable goals. I have a solid plan for achieving those goals. I'm building a good network of support. I've taken my 'before' photos and measurements. I've got a great partner who is with me on this challenge, and is cheering me on to win.
I'm drinking my water.
I'm making healthy choices for food.
I'm working on getting more exercise.
I'm going to stay that way!

So today is day one of the real challenge! I'm still excited about it, and ready to move forward!
I have the fridge stocked with healthy foods and lots of quick, nutritious choices for emergency eating.
Chris and I are taking photos and measurements of ourselves today too, so we'll have lots to compare and note our progress on.
I've got a good understanding and working knowledge of my Spark Nutrition and Fitness trackers, and am using them.
I'm not beating myself up if I don't meet all my goals in a day, but I am rewarding myself with 'me' time when I do!
I'm ready; let's go!!!!

Still working towards my goals! And still loving the SparkPeople site!
I have to say that I was most interested in all the tools the site offered at first. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive, and all the trackers and goal setting really appealed to me. I kind of brushed off the support and people that everyone was talking about and emphasizing as the most valuable resource here.
I'm starting to have a change of heart though. In just the last 7 days, I've received tons of comments, suggestions, offers of help and support, and general motivation from people just like me. It's truly motivating me more than the all the info and tools combined. I feel like I'm part of a real community here, and it's been so welcoming that I find myself drawn to it even as I find I'm not as excited to track stuff anymore. I still use the trackers and goal sheets, but just as a tool now, not as a motivator. Now I find the motivation coming from my new SparkFriends and the SparkTeams I've joined.
It's so helpful to watch so many other people who are struggling with the exact same challenges I have, and who are succeeding in their plans and goals.
I really do believe now, that the people are what make the difference here.
So thank you: to everyone here on SparkPeople!
