ZOOOOOOM!!

Okay, so I've made some progress - SIX pounds lighter! Doesn't sound like much, but starting over, this is a HUGE step in the right direction. On top of that....Yup!....the ZOOOOOM! is back! My energy has soared and I actually feel like doing something besides sitting around like a lump or dragging myself from room to room. Look out! Woosh! - Dishes are done! Woosh, swish! - clothes are washed, folded and put away. Zooooom! Groceries shopped, paid for, brought in the house and put away. On top of that, I have energy left to play with my pug, read with my daughter and focus on what my hubby is enthusiastically sharing with me about the pocket watch he just bought. Oh, it feels good to feel so good!

On The Road Again

So my journey toward health and fitness took a BIG detour a while back. The story of what helped to derail me is to too personal and detailed to share here. Once I crossed the threshold out of grief and began healing, it was like blinders had been lifted from my eyes. I could see where I had once been and where I was now and knew I had to start over. Being fit, being active, being strong, being healthy are not options. They are necessities. Now, with God's help and the encouragement of friends and my family, I have started again toward my goal. I am tracking my nutrition daily and excited to do it. Exercise is not yet where it needs to be or where I want it, but it will increase soon.

If you started your journey towards a healthier you and found yourself swept off the path by whatever life has thrown at you, I want you to know, it is okay. You can start again and you may find that starting again you are more focused and determined. Allow yourself to have control again. Sparkpeople's tools and the support of the Sparkpeople community can and will help you to reach your goal.

Exercise is Good!

Had a nice "back to exercise" workout tonight with my friend Melissa. It feels good to be working my muscles again. (Of course tomorrow I may want to retract that statement - LOL). But really, there is something about how good you feel when you are done. I feel stronger and at peace and full of hope. Can't wait for my next workout!

    Glad to hear you're back at it. I hope you've had some time to enjoy your workout space too. That was the best thing anyone ever gave me when John built my workout room. It kept me going through the cold and wet season. I am looking forward to the outdoor walks again, and bloomsday?

Schedule Freed Up Now

I haven't blogged for the past couple of weeks because my evenings have been tied up with drama practices. Just about every night has been practice from 6:30 til 9pm. I've managed to squeeze a little exercise in there, but not enough. Today was our last drama proformance and I have no excues not to buckle down.

The drama was put on by our church. It was a version of the Christmas classic, "Miracle on 34th Street". My daughter played one of the children in line for a photo with Santa. They also gave her a solo to sing, so she and I had a lot of practice time on that. Then the director roped me in to play one of the extras too. It was a lot of work for all, but also very rewarding. My daughter did a wonderful job with her song. She is only 8 and she got up every performance and sang in front of 100 or more people every time without being afraid. I wish all of my Spark friends could have been there with us.

    I am glad it is over, too! It was a busy week going to the practices. Allison was brave! I couldn't have gotten up there at her age or even now! You should be proud!! Did you give any more thought to working out with me at the Y? I am in desperate need to get motivated again!!!!

    I wish I could have made it through the entire program. I am glad you have some time now to workout. My schedule isn't great right now, but I make myself workout even if I have to do it after work or on what little weekend I have left. I miss walking with you so much! I want to have spring and summer back so we can outside walk, but right now I would settle for a few weekends off to walk the mall or something.

I'm Back!

So much has happened since I last logged in and blogged. I got off track with my exercise and the eating took a nose dive too. But I am back and happy to be here. Good news! My exercise space downstairs is all set up now and I've used it! Woohoo! Now if my evening schedule will just calm down a little so I can get back into a regular routine.

BTW, I have missed all of you, my dear Sparkling friends. I'm looking forward to checking your pages and catching up. I hope you all have stayed faithful to the course you set at the beginning of this journey and if not, then I hope you are jumping back on with.

    Yay! Exercise room! It makes it alot easier when your gym is at home, you can do just 5 minutes if that's all the time you have, but at least you have a place of your own to do it in!
