Has it really been over a year?????

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

That's me....the youngest and heaviest sister ( the one on the far left). That picture was taken 2 years ago and I am even heavier now :(. I couldn't find a picture of me currently but I would say I have 10 more pounds on me from that picture.

So, I am back. I have a new grandson who will make his appearance in late June. My goal is to lose at least 20 lbs by then. That is doable. My friend, Stacey, is dieting with me. She lives 2 hours away but we call for support.

Anyway, if there is anyone out there who is reading my blog.....if you have any words of wisdom or things that have helped you lose, I would love to hear about them! I need some encouragement!

Glad I am finally back. This time...to stay. 💪

I don't have any words of wisdom, but wanted to say welcome back, you can do it, and just take it a day at a time. It's never too late to start :)

Hey girl! Good to see you back! My take - Rome wasn't built in a day. Baby steps, and just don't give up. Some days (weeks, months) will be rough, others will bring progress. Work on one thing, then add on. Tracking is tedious for me, but it really helps me to see what I've eaten and where I could have made better choices. emoticon

I agree one day at a time and pre plan. Have your weekly menu done each week so you can put together your shopping list and prep as much as possible in advance. Also I find that putting all my food out in the am makes it easier to make good choices each day. I work most days so I have to take my lunch and snack with me but even when I don't work I like to pack my food just like I"m going to work so that I am more likely to not stray. You've got this!

Also I host a fitness and accountability group on Facebook. Itís a private group where we check in, keep each other accountable and encourage one another on our journeys! Because it is private what you post in the group doesnít show up on your regular feed. I would love for you to join us. If you would like you can either message me your email address and I can add you that way (we donít have to be FB friends if I add you by emailÖ.. OR you can find me on Facebook and add me as a friend (facebook.com/amy.pittard). Once you add me as a friend I can add you directly to the group. I hope you join in!!

Day 27.... A gorgeous day outside too!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I have been MIA for a couple of days. I ate healthy until 2 days ago and then BOOM.... I couldn't seem to stop myself! I had nachos, chips, soda....repeat.... The entire time I was binging I was thinking to myself... WHY are you doing this to yourself??? Well I woke up today sore....,my feet are swollen from salt.. .I feel horrible.... it is a GREAT reminder of WHY I need to work hard so back on track I am today!
Yesterday was my niece's baby shower... 2 of my sisters were there. One is doing WW and she looks incredible! so much energy and she is 9 years older than I am! My other sister looks good as well. I used to always be the thinnest....and now I am by far the fattest. and unhealthiest. Reminder #2 of WHY I need to work hard.
I am going to try walking out doors today. Just a short little walk but I have to start somewhere. I'm tired of being a couch potato.
ok..so breakfast is done ....check
now on to a healthy happier day then what I had yesterday!!!!

Oh, I hate when I get bloated from too much sodium! It just reminds me how much better I feel when I stay on track.

Good luck in your weight loss journey.

Day 22 ~ Dragging!

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I'm so very tired today. Mondays I work from 7 am to 10:30 pm so they beat me down pretty hard. I do that on Wednesday's too. By the time I catch back up on sleep and things, it's monday all over again! ugh!
Drinking a shake for breakfast. Thought maybe I would try this out this week. Give me energy and it's easy. Hopefully it will help kickstart a loss for me!
Got to get my water in today. 2 glasses down so far already! :)
Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Day 21 ~ A day to remember

Monday, January 21, 2013

We don't have school today but we do have teacher inservice. I dislike inservice and especially on a day such as this. Martin Luther King should be remembered and it should be a day of reflection, not work. Maybe that is just my thoughts...
A new week. I actually walked for 5 minutes yesterday! I know 5 minutes isn't much but it is if you are my weight and haven 't exercised in years!! Baby steps.
Breakfast in. Inservice lunch today so I will have to really watch what I put in my mouth. I know they try to make school lunches healthierr but we shall see!
GED classes to teach tonight so it will be a late night for me. Soooo dislike mondays and wednesdays!!!
Have a wonderful, healthy day!

Day 20 ~ Scale still not moving

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I have so much weight to lose, yet the scale is not moving at all! I don't understand!! I have to be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out!! By this time on WW I had lost 20 pounds... I'm still teetering around the 13 I lost... sometimes I'm even up?!? I don't get it. I'm getting upset and discouraged but I REFUSE to give up.

You could try mixing up your workouts, type of workouts, length of workouts.
Try eating more protein, keeps you fuller longer and protein is good for you.
Are you sure you are tracking everything correctly. I know sometimes if I don't double check what I've tracked it can be wrong, esp with the serving sizes.

I know it can be hard sometimes when you hit a plateau . Just keep working your plan... Maybe introduce some strength training... Or more protein and less carbs... Just don't give up!!!
