June is going to be one exciting month

Thursday, March 28, 2013

I really can not wait unitl June. I will of course be able to use my new outdoor furniture (we haven't had a backyard in a LONG TIME) and June 16th is the COLOR RUN in Denver. And on top of that....My town will be hosting its very own Spring into Green Color Dash 5k, 10k and family walk on June 8th. I just signed us up and we will be having such a good time.

This is so going to be me in June. I really can't wait two more months until June.

Oh and the community is also putting on a Step Up program starting April 19th and ending in a 5 mile race on June 29th . They did it last year but I did not get a chance to sign up.
It challenges you to walk 10,000 steps a day and has several workshops that promote healty lifestyles. Just about every weekend in June is booked with a race. Now I really need to get out there and start my 5k training.

I think I just found the spark that I need to start moving again.

70 days until June 8th. Need to get my jog on.

Sounds like you are going to be very busy. I have been wanting to sign up for a color run. I wish my town was doing things to get healthy and active like yours. Keep up the good work.

It's a fun run. The Color Run has a different color every 1km of a 5k. They through colored powder on you. I have been wanting to do one since I heard about it last year. It looks like a lot of fun. emoticon

Week 2 Non-Fitness Challenge

Friday, March 22, 2013

My goals to accomplish during this challenge:

1. Be active everyday.
2. Eat healthy 6 days out of the week.
3. Quit drinking soda.
......stop drinking my calories and start drinking more water.
4. Lose 20lbs by Mother's day

Great plans. Concerning the ditching the soda and replacing with water, I have found that adding some flavored things to my water helps a lot: a slice of lemon, orange, cucumber or a sprig of mint, no sweeteners though.
One thing I have found helpful as far as weight loss goals is to make the primary focus things I can control (like exercising so much every week, eating a certain way) rather than the results which I can't perfectly control (like exact number of pounds lost) because this way I can reward myself for having done my very best, regardless of the results. If I stay motivated and have a positive outlook then I will eventually reach my permanent goals, and, more important, maintain them. emoticon emoticon

Around the lake

Friday, March 08, 2013

I tried to do a 5k around the lake last night but the sun was going down and the weirdos started coming out, so I got in 2 miles instead.

It was beautiful and there were a fair amount of people out walking and running, that I felt like that was definetly where I needed to be. This is what I am going to continue doing as long as its not extremely cold or snowing. I will even do it in the rain. It was in the 50s all day and of course dropped to the 40s when I was walking and I forgot my headband to cover my ears.
I will run around that lake soon, I just know it.

On another note, I woke up late this morning and didn't make my breakfast or lunch. Breakfast was not paleo and definetly not healty and lunch is veggies and fruit because the protein was covered in breading. Tonights dinner is stuffed peppers so it will all be good.

Down another .4lbs I will do this.

Given your reasons, nothing to apologize for.

Perhaps, it was motivation to increase your speed. emoticon

Nice work; keep after it. emoticon

So I have signed up for my first 5k and though it isn't timed I am still going to try to beat my time so far. I can't wait for June 16th. The Color Run is going to be so much fun. Even my mom and daughter are going to do it, though they will be walking with the stroller.
My best friend also wants to do the Foam 5k and I have found a mud run that I really want to do. Just need to find the way to pay for those races and maybe one timed one.

I can not wait for it to be summer.

Oh and walking around the lake yesterday I found that all the way around is .98 miles, so I will be walking a 5k around it this afternoon.

and then its going to snow again. emoticon
