I know what's good for me, and what isn't, but sometimes I'm weak. I reward myself with unhealthy food. For example, the other day, I went to the doctor. Afterwards, I went to Sonic and got a slush as my reward. My reward for doing nothing.

I know what foods are my weaknesses, so I need to just avoid those for now. No ice cream! No pizza!

Since I got my Bodybugg for Christmas, I have been doing pretty good with losing weight. Not as much as I would like, but it's been steady...

Then 2 weeks ago my Dad fell down the attic stairs.

He was getting some luggage down while no one was home, and Mom found him at the bottom of the stairs when she came home for lunch. He hurt his head pretty badly and has been in the hospital all this time. He is still sleeping a lot and can't really communicate with us. He's very weak. The doctors can't give us a real answer because they just don't know what is going to happen. Luckily, Dad was in great shape (ran 5 miles almost every day), and there are no broken bones. He is otherwise healthy.

So between the shock of his accident, being worried about what the future holds, "missing" Dad a lot and helping Mom celebrate their Anniversary, we have all gained some weight!

I've eaten more cheesecake in the last two weeks than in my whole life. On their anniversary last Tuesday, 5 of us shared a 10 cupcake (do the math, that is 2 cupcakes each). The hospital is on an island that is full of tourist trap, overpriced, unhealthy restaurants. I have gained back about 5 pounds of what I had lost.

I know I need to focus on family right now, so I am doing that. It is going to be the little victories that matter for now.

I'm proud to say that at the Birthday celebration at work today, I turned down cupcakes! I just got back home from running 3 miles!

Just trying to take things one day at a time...

Spin, Spin Sugar... Day 3

Just kidding! No sugar!

Pretty good day. Staying on track with food. When I was at spinning tonight, I visualized my secret stash of mini peanut butter cups in my desk... but I know I can't eat them! emoticon

So, that means I went to spinning. My calves have been super-sore since the Day 1 cardio workout. Usually when I have calf pain like that, spinning makes them feel much better. I don't think that it worked this time. So...

I am taking tomorrow off from cardio. I will do the Day 4 video, Day 4 optional challenge and today's optional challenge that I forgot about until just now (oops!)

I'm also allowing myself some off plan food tomorrow... just dinner... If you live near a Which Wich store, they have 99 sandwiches tomorrow (except for a deluxe one that is $1.99).

  


Surprise! It's a fruit... Bootcamp Day 2

Today's challenge is to eat 3 servings of Fruit. All I have at the house is Craisins and Apples.

Today's lunch was black bean and corn salad. I usually throw in either chicken or avocado... today, it was an avocado.

Guess what I found out? Avocado: totally a fruit! So I am getting my three servings:

1. Avocado in Salad.
2. Serving of Craisins after lunch.
3. Apple (with cheese) at snack time.

I have my gym bag packed for after work. When I get home, I will do today's workout. I woke up too late to even do my hair today.

    I'm doing this challenge too! Between my tomato and apple, I'm almost there. Does the fruit in yogurt count? Oh wait! I had emoticon in my oatmeal this morning so I'm good to go. Best of luck on the bootcamp emoticon

    Wow who knew that Avocado was a fruit!! Well thanks for that and How was boot camp I am joining one in a few weeks when the new cycle starts so I am praying for that!!Well we can do it!!!

Already Boot Camp Time Again.... Day 1

My new years resolutions:

1. Lose 10 pounds.
2. Get out of the house more--still working on how.
3. Go to spinning once a week. Tuesday is officially spin night and if I miss Tuesday for a very good reason, I have to go to a class to make it up!
4. Minimum 3 resumes sent out per week.

These are my starting measurements for the challenge.

Weight: 168.5 pounds
Neck: 13"
Bust: 39.5"
Waist: 30.5"
Abdomen: 32.5"
Hips: 41"
Thighs: 22.25"
Calves: 14.75"
Arms: 12.5"

Alright, time to do Day 1 video... That sucked!!! OMG!
